@@rennie44 except the 279(e) in wot isn't actually the 279(e). The one in Wot is the Obj.726 but they decided to name it the Obj.279(e) purely because that tank is more popular irl

@@rennie44 Funnily enough, WG had actually modelled the real Obj. 279. I believe it has a tank tag (like for example T-54 has a tag R40 and AMX 13 90's tag is F17). So you never know...
Ah, yes, the "good" old days where Tiger 1 could be set on fire from the front, every 2nd hit was an ammorack, driver died every second and the consumables could be used only 1 time per game.
I think a lot of us (yes, me too) went to get the Tiger in the game only to end up with a poor crew in a matchmaking infested with IS-3, IS-6, KV-1S that could demolish you easily while the 203 pen wasn't that great against them.
dont forget you are big, slow box and old arty would eat you alive
and then it got worse, type 59 a medium with heavy armor and insane mobility, the super pershing a very strong medium with heavy armor. and thus the game went full pay to win

Loving the Tiger is certainly a cliche, but a far less obnoxious one than the "Akshually... the Tiger like totally sucked and (insert favorite tank from my country) was 463% superior!" hipsters.

There's always the extreme between the left side and the right side.
The left side is certain Tiger is invincible, should have win the war.
The right side just calls people who just love this box of a tank a wehraboo., as their favorite tank is Sherman and why it's powerful.
I felt I'm in the middle, just loves Tiger while fully aware of it's flaw and what's not

my first tank aswell, got 7 kills in kharkov when it still was in the game and felt unstoppable. That must have been about 5 years ago.
The full Tiger is at T7, is outclassed and dies a quick death unless you are like Quickybaby with an exceptional crew and all the perks. The 131 at T6 again poor gun but fun to play and with a good crew you can do a lot and gain good credits.
Just started playing World of Tanks last week. Used the combat code to get started and got 10 rentals of the Tiger131. It is far and away my favorite and the first tank that I fell in love with! I'm hoping I can find a suitable replacement as I'm already out of rentals! Great vid man
Managed to 3MoE this tank today. Very underrated tank in my oppinion. DPM does very good job and you are able to trade prety well. Gun handling in other hand is not the best and sometimes can be very anoying.

@@teamfieroline3400OP with good MM, but punchy enough to be relevant as a support tank in T8 as long as you don't get focused. The problem is the armor is paper.

Tiger 131 one of my most played tanks. I've been to the Tiger Day at Bovington, it was a great day out to see this iconic tank going around the arena.
Tiger 1 and Tiger P are underated tech tree tanks but if I see a premium tank shooting a stock tech tree tank they're on my list to be ... "removed" >l:(

problem with the Tiger 1 is it is tiered with tanks that were built a few years later to kill Tigers

tigers are nice tanks to play, if they loading ap shells against a tiger its difficult to pen if you angle it good, if the enemy loading apcr or heat than is the fun over, like when i shoot with the fast shooting gun of a sherman full of apcr:D
Tiger had quite a bad reputation in the old days, which I think was undeserved. It had 20% more HP and DPM than T29 and IS, which people overlooked. Maybe it comes down to preffered playstyle, but I had the best score out of those three in Tiger by substantial margin.
It doesn't have good armor. It's gun is meh and only becomes reliable with gold rounds. It's only good at its own tier.
@@3starperfectdeer233 meh gun? No tier 7 heavy has better gun than Tiger. IS maybe if we talk specifically about close combat city maps, that's about it.
It's nice that everyone thinks that the tiger tank is tier 7, but in reality it is tier 6 and always has been because its full name is Panzerkampfwagen VI Tiger and the Roman numeral 6 is not a joke.
I may as well add in the comments. When I used to watch the History channel they had a show called greatest tank battles and the one episode where they introduced the hellcat against the Panthers is what made me want to play world of tanks. I believe that was right around 2013 or 2014. I had been aware of the game but I never made an account and I specifically wanted to get up to the hellcat.
Fortunately for me the very weak I created my account was the week it got nerfed. Actually all TD's had gotten nerfed

I played WoT closed Alpha (whenever that was) to 2014-2015. This game has changed a lot and I prefer the simpler times lol

TY 🙏🙏 If Excalibur capped, they would have won, or at least spotted the Tiger to possibly get extra hits on it. Enemy team didn't coordinate enough. Easy to say in hindsight though.
I remember when the japanese premium Tiger came out and was on a discount. I bought it and had a mission: Making it the ultimative anime/weeb Tank, getting overly colourful camo, all female crew, etc.
Once I tried a round of clan-wars as a mercinary (is it called that?), where I joined a random clan for a single battle. They allowed me playing it and it payed off.
The macth ended in a 2 vs 5, my mate got sniped and I shot down the last enemy light tank. The rest of the enemy where a KV-2, Churchill, O-I and a tankdestroyer wich I can´t recall wich one it was.
In the end: I used my maxed view range, every little bit of cover and camo to pick them off one by one, while keep changing positions and laying ambushes.
Never had that kind of feeling of beeing a force of nature in any other Tank. That round could had been a propaganda piece for the "invincible" Tiger tank.......if it was cursed from the horendous camo alone XD
7:50 The box tank has a 130mm gun in reality. There's a funny video of jingles comparing the box tank's gun to that of the is-7 many years ago and he just chuckles away at how overpowered the box tank was to have such a gun.
we had similar history. I also jumped from EVE-online to WoT. Althought in EVE i was never trully dedicated, too hardcore for my taste
care to elaborate? i have been interested in eve online but never got a chance to play it.
@@Todsor it was simply too demanding in all aspects. We would do tower attacks as factions (clans) and this required like 4-5 hours of continuous gameplay to coordinate. You couldn't basically just log in play for 20-30 minutes then log out. Let alone other gameplay aspects that were already too hard. If you can invest so much, sure go ahead. Idk how much gameplay has changed since then.
@@brucedeo1981 Thanks, i guess i will just stick to WoT for now. 4-5 hours? holy moly. I thought Dota was too time consuming with matches lasting for 50 min on average.

I never played the tech tree tiger (the first tank I went for in the game was actually the T71, the tank that would be renamed the T71 DA), but I did get the Heavy Tank VI, the Japanese tiger, for free and even though the armor isn’t special even in tier 6, you have HP and view range
Tier 7 Tiger is my favorite and most played tank :)
I started because of the tiger, I thought it was the best tank until I realised that the more “modern tanks” had a faster reload speed and faster traverse speed, but the tiger is my favourite sniper tank

The Tiger at tier-7 is a beast with that gun, if you know how to use it.
On WorldofTanks console the Tiger 131 is a tier 7 tank with preferential match making which is nice
First two tech tree tanks I got was the Panther and Tiger. I still play them.
Tiger 1 was a massive disappointment in the early days of WOT. The issue with it was it was a 1941 tank tier matched with 1945 tanks designed to beat it. That meant it's "amazing armor" was outclassed by nearly everything being thrown at it. 76mm guns struggled, but 90s went right through. And guess what, everything tier for tier was 90mm.
Add in the issues with transmissions, ammo racks, and fires and the tank was just okay. Everyone that knew anything about tank history knew the Tiger was massively underpowered for where it got tiered at. It's still a bit of a glass cannon heavy and that's not fun.
But that's why 131 and HT6 are so much better. They are where the Tiger should be in the tech tree and the armor feels useful tier for tier. The gun is still surprisingly good vs Tier 8s as well which is what you want. I love my 131.
PS. I miss historical battles. Tiger 1s vs T-34s and KVs, but withe fewer numbers was where it was at. Tiger felt like it was a Tiger, but it also struggled with rate of fire getting outnumbers.

The Tiger 131 is one of my personal favorite tanks. I have only run it 5 time but I have a 100% victory rate with it. Haven't run it since, don't want to jinx that 100%.
Shout out to the arty. Without the chunk he took and the tracking done to let you hit the Excaliber, it was a loss.
I currently have approximately 3400 bonds on my way to 5000 and a Tiger 131.
I love 131, one of my most enjoyable tanks.
And not to forget to mention "back in the daaaays" TDs wont lose camouflage when shooting - I miss that times (I know, E25 is still capable of it and I enjoy it)
I guess playing the 131 feels like what most of us were expecting from the usual tiger 1... until they got it (and met a hull down T29 eventually).

I got the Tiger P before I got the Tiger 1 (I'm a front line kind of heavy tank player), and I was hesitant to try the Tiger 1 from looking at the armor. Nowadays, Tiger 1 is the only tank I can *regularly* get up into the 95% for damage (i.e. threshold for three marks of excellence), and is the only tank I have three marks on. Thanks to the Tiger 1, I realized that I shouldn't try to make the tank fit my playstyle, rather I should adjust my playstyle to fit the tank.
Edit: yes, I know the video has Tiger 131, not Tiger 1.

I just grinded my first Tiger 1, in the first game In I got 6 kills and soaked up a ton of damage.

The tier 6 tigers are really good both 131 and heavytank6. I do enjoy the mirny gift king tiger more than the tier 6 tigers.
What do you mean when you say that bushes aren't as useful for heavy tanks because of the way that they scale?

My first heavy tank was a Tiger, but I was so disappointed because the Tiger tank on Wargaming is a paper tiger, but in reality, it's like a King. The Wargaming nerfed the Tiger so much and stood out only Russian tanks are strong in the game.
It is a close game. I would compliment enemy team as well as a Worthy Opponent.
Tier six should be Tiger 1 s tier.. I remember those old rounds when Tiger was King 🤴...

can replay manager play older replays now? have bunch of them where I had to use another program because the website did not have the "engine" to show those replays..like when yo u dominated with your t5 kv2 and derped all those pesky tier 3's
Great game. The game was better back in "The day". Graphics not great, less options and ways to tweak tanks, Gold rounds where Special, MM was all over the place, NO mods or extras. BUT people where less toxic, a lot more teamwork was required, ALL chat was fun, Tactics where a big part of winning. NO EBR's ! to make map seem so small. Though Grinding was HORRIBLE. Great game, glad to see you bring the Tiger out of it's NEST and play it, not it's DEN 🤣. Great Game QB and Rock on Tankers 😎🤘

USA servers are dead: Maximum time in queue for battle has expired Select another vehicle or try again later, over and over.
Took 50 minutes to get 1 match showing only 539 people online. So running Personal Reserves is a joke.

I like the tiger dont get me wrong, but the vk 36 is a whole other beast, its absolutely disgusting at tier 6.
Tier 6 or below you just shred everything, its quite a chonker, so you put a turbo and ram someone for a couple hundred, shred them with insane dpm.

I dont like how the game feels, the tanks in the lower tier feel fast and the guns not very punchy. If you compare the feeling with War Thunders Tiger 1, that feels better
