Nice job on the video. I am excited to be taking the Indian Pacific from Sydney all the way to Perth in Gold Single, at the end of May - this was a nice preview of my journey.
Great trip report mate. The food onboard looks amazing and the off train excursions into the Blue Mountains would have been a highlight. Ive heard so much about that area but to see it in your video convinces me to add this trip on my must do bucket list
Very well put together vlog, mate. I enjoyed sharing this experience; there is something very relaxing about train travel and Australian trains especially. I once did a train tour from Brisbane to Cairns back in 1980. Everybody was so friendly so that a reserved English guy like me still got caught up in their enthusiasm. Look forward to your next opus
Best way to see parts of Australia you would miss if flying. Mum who has a walking disability also went with me. The Pullman carriage H. Catered for her. Its huge, beds not so comfy. We did Adelaide to Sydney for my birthday. I got a birthday cake which I shared with the other diners who sang happy birthday to me. I did not give a speech. Bit bashful. The rough ride made mum sick as we pulled into Central. We have done the Ghan in two trips. The Indian Pacific in two trips. Glad we did them. Thanks for memories. Nice video.
Great video and very well edited. You really documented the trip well and its something i have always wanted to do ! This one and The Ghan ! Would love to see the Adelaide to Perth leg also - im sure you are very keen to do it also. Cheers!
A fantastic trip and video Aidan, well done. My best train experience was Sydney to Perth on the Indian Pacific Platinum Class about 5 years ago. The food is amazing, every dish. You are right, how do they manage it all on a moving training. The outdoor dinner under the stars at Rawlinda was awesome. The track between Sydney and Broken Hill was the roughest. From Adelaide to Perth was smooth as. Feet on the seats 😞 tut tut tut!
I experienced the ADL to SYD "Indian Pacific" few years ago, great crew and meals served; Though of you want any sleep ! Forget it !! Appalling rail track and tired carriages, Never again. Though you posted a good travelogue; even if you missed the sleepless bit from Broken Hill onwards !!
It was the best! Surprisingly I wasn’t the youngest passenger onboard, infact there were quite a few younger passengers onboard this train! Thanks for watching!
@@FromtheWindowSeat The V set, although quite old since the 1980s is supremely comfortable to ride on. I took one just from Central country terminal to Epping instead of the suburban train just for the experience. The doors are hand operated.
Damn, I've never tried Kangaroos before, reckon I'll give it a go if it's ever an option. Also that dinner main made my eyes pop out of my head. Mashed potato always wins
Great video Aidan. Esp love the food and bedding reviews. One question.. did your mum also stay in a single like you? I’m glad you had a travelling partner. Would LOVE to see the Ghan. When are you next taking to the air? Oh, and yes, btw.. would love to see the difference with premium class.
Thank you for watching, Mum also did stay in a single. It was the cheapest and most comfortable way to do it. I have more flights booked with her in a few weeks so I guess she will feature again! Thanks for watching :)
Hello, I don't use social media as much as a content creator like you would use. Why I say this is because otherwise I would message you on Instagram etc but I only have a YT channel. Anyways, I thought I saw you on my final leg of flight from Singapore to Melbourne QF36. It arrived at Melbourne airport at 5:40am this morning 7th April 2024. I was seated on aisle 34G so if was you, you were in row 33F. I had opportunities to ask "if you create content about airline reviews?" (And sometimes train travel reviews) But i figured it's not likely you because otherwise you would have a Go pro camera or other equipment to review that QF36 flight. Then I thought you wouldn't necessarily review every single flight you took? Anyways if you have a spare minute could you please tell me if you were on the same flight as me this morning. Your channel info says you're based in Australia so that further fuelled the possibility it could have been you or just a doppelganger of you! 😮
This is the most boring train ride I done in my life ! The landscape is same desert and desert ! The train is old ! Loud track noice difficult sleeping ! Old train ! Never again ! Nothing like Orient Express
Who wants to see the remaining Adelaide to Perth in Platinum Class? Comment below!
For sure. That would be awesome bro 👍

Awesome video vlog from this old boy from Perth down-under thank you for sharing ..... 2/06/2024 👍
Good review Aidan. 👌 Seems like you’re becoming a real foodie. 😎
How was it being (I assume) the youngest passenger on board? 🤔

Thanks for watching! It’s a great journey, I will make sure to review the remaining part!
@@ifly1 Not sure about the non alcoholic wines tho🤣
Very well done review!!!
Great video! Pity you could not complete the journey into Sydney with the train. What a stark difference from that to a manky metro train! 😅
Thanks for watching Ryan! Yeah, it’s the only downside of the trip, otherwise it’s a great journey overall!
A manky metro train?! Wash your mouth out Ryan. 😝 That’s a V set, a classic intercity train adored by most rail enthusiasts. 😎

The cabin that you are in reminds me of the cabin that i was in on The Canadian from Vancouver to Toronto. All the meals looked good.

The corridor in your carriage seems claustrophobic and I wouldn't want to be stuck in a backward facing seat on a long train ride.
It wasn’t that bad, but I see what you mean. Thanks for watching!
All the way clicky clack clicky clack night and day no sleep can't be late for meals or you get none 😂😂😂
