You know, having read the plot summary, this film sure does turn all the wierdest parts of art house cinema up to eleven. That being said... I can see why it won. It seems to actually tell an emotional story over its insane backdrop. It sure is strong art, even if I have no wish to watch it myself.

Nintendo also had and still has a MASSIVE business in card games. In Japan, they are still a massive card manufacturer, comparable to what Copag is today, making and printing for many brands and still selling common playing card decks of multiple designs and sizes for poker and whatnot. It is funny because where I live, Pokemon TCG is made and printed by Copag, NOT Nintendo, and outside of Japan they are seen as an electronic games and consoles manufacturer only, when in fact they still have a tradition in paper.
