Brilliant Nima! So great that you are passing on this profound wisdom you dedicatedly learnt from our Sigung. What you are saying here about Nim Tau can't be said enough - thanks for saying it! Look forward to meeting you for Sigung's birthday gathering.

+Mindful Wing Chun By the way, I have a Facebook page called, coincidentally :) 'Wing Chun Mind Force', have I mentioned it to you before?.
I think you would find it interesting. Cheers mate!

For those interested, there's a book titled Thinking Body, Dancing Mind that delves deeply into this subject. Extremely useful I've found.

Really enjoy these clips very informative. I find I analyse things a lot. I write lots of things in my diary and love working things out. It kind keeps me going and I have these aha moments. But a couple of times when I have visited the Chi Sao Club in Sydney I have been told to focus on practice more than analysing everything. I think a lot of people I have met have made such break throughs when they have visited Hong Kong cause they have to actually "do" more than discuss and analyse.

Yeah I think both is good but no matter how much you analyze it it wont get anywhere till you put in to practice. Intellectual understanding is good for direction in training but experiential understanding is where the skill is at :)

I am new to this type of practice, would you say at my stage of training is it good to analyse things more of the biomechanics of the movement?

When you first learn a skill you have to think about it and practice remembering until you dont have to think about it. Just like raising your arm.

Glad you found it helpful. Yes its about shutting down or quietening the analytical thinking :)

Interesting. The exact same thing happened where I was and the one doing 20years boxing lost from the 3year Wing Chun practitioner. Must have been a similar loved one too. But great story dude, thanks for sharing!
