@@VagabondBuilds we are very happy with the Atlas. We saw several 3 row cars and just about all of them had little space in the 3rd row and grandparents sit back there so that would be uncomfortable for them. The other option we liked was the Lexus TX350 (their Grand Highlander), that one also had similar good space for the 3rd row but we didn’t like the underwhelming/pedestrian interior, and the price was higher to boot. We felt like the 24 Atlas had the best combo of spacious 3rd row, beautiful luxurious interior, tech/safety features, and looks (it’s an elegant & handsome car), along with good price. It just feels like the designers did a great job designing the car and thinking of ways of making the car convenient/practical. One example is the center console in the front row under the cup holders/shifter, there is a large storage space underneath it and it’s open in both sides to the driver and passenger, it’s great to put your bag or wallet there, sunglasses etc. The Lexus TX350 has a similar storage space but about half the size and it’s only available on the passenger side, it’s covered in the driver side which to me makes no sense as the driver is the one that usually needs the space more. The other good design feature is that the 2nd row bench seat and back fully tilts in unison when accessing the 3rd row, Why is this nice? Well we have two car seats in the 2nd row so we don’t have to move/remove or adjust the car seats when accessing the 3rd row, and again the TX350 lacks this. Just feels like they did a great job thinking about the little things and feels well built/put together. I will say this, the infotainment/climate control was overwhelming at first to use and I can see this being a turn off when people see the car in person at the dealership. I had to watch several videos to learn how to use it, but once you learn it becomes second nature and easy to use, again I can see people being turned off by it at first glance and they should work on that. I like that you can customize the infotainment and remove apps that you don’t use so that there is no clutter. Overall a very good car for a growing family, great value for the money.
Lot of things you got wrong. USB still in the 3rd row in FWD models. All models except the base SE get remote start, even the SE TECH, which you said didn’t.
I would get the SEL trim level, but unfortunately the Panoramic is standard, I had a VW Tiguan with panoramic that I had to sell it because with Texas heat and slow traffic the panoramic will let a lot of heat inside the car even though with shade closed. So I will get the 4 motion SE with TECHNOLOGY.
Comments, questions, concerns.. actually between trim levels there next configurable options 1. 4motion ( all wheel drive); 2. Captains chairs ; and 3. Moon roof. Usually from the factory SEL considered with 4motion and rest of trims as FWD.
Both are very nice. It would come down to reliability for me. I really like the look of the atlas but the telluride is naturally aspirated engine. So I’m caught in the middle.
My wife has a 2021 Volkswagen atlas. She hit a deer in May 2023 seven months ago and it has been sitting at the autobody shop every sense. The autobody shop cannot source a hood or bumper and Volkswagen cannot tell us when they will manufacture a hood or bumper. This is left us with an insurance and car payment but no car to drive. I would not buy a Volkswagen atlas or any other Volkswagen because they are not manufacturing parts to repair their cars.
That is crazy… I just searched to see if I can find your hood and I found it. Interesting. You should research and send them some links and get them to finish. That’s crazy.
I brought the 24 SE without completely understanding what the deference was. I 100% regret it I saved about 6 or 7k but it’s a lot the regular se doesnt have like remote start. Definitely do some research before making a decision
I firmly believe the SE tech is the no brainer bang per buck. The SEL offers the who gives a shit upgrades. Same space, engine and transmission is a wrap for me on the SE tech. I can totally live without all the bells and whistles of the SEL.
I have the '23 Atlas SE w/Tech 4Motion V6 and have pretty much everything the '24 has. I have heated washer nozzles, ACC & standard cruise control, hands free lift gate, etc. The only thing that I don't have is the lane assist. I have everything associated with it except that. I even have the icon/light on the digital dash but not way to activate it. I hope VW gets rid of the ridiculous infotainment center. It's one of the most hated features that they've come out with. You have to take your eyes off of the road to adjust temps etc. The soft touch/hepatic controls is not easy to manage when driving. I also wish they didn't take the heated mirror control off of the driver side door and put it in the climate control. I have to turn on my rear defrost to get my mirrors heating. The headlights leave a lot to be desired as well. High beams are no more brighter than my '18 Atlas SE w/tech had and they moved the fog lights from the bottom of the bumper fascia to the headlight housing. They serve no purpose in that location and only light up the sides of the road but does not work in heavy fog to help aluminate the road below the fog.
@@VagabondBuilds You’re welcome. Don’t get me wrong. I am a HUGE VW fan and LOVE my Atlas but some changes were not necessary. Thank you for the amazing content you put out.
@VagabondBuilds when I wrote that comment, I did it without giving a second thought. Now that I am reading it, I feel that I was disrespectful. My apologies man.
@kevs2good133 Understood, could you explain that to others as well? Many who replied think that the no V6 is a killer for purchasing the new cross sport, I'm truly surprised how this 4 cylinder turbo can get down and duty with it! I don't think you'll miss a beat with this engine, and amazing enough, it takes 87 octane fuel. I'm truly content with my purchase! The only complaint is the overactive lane assist.
Toyota grand highlander is a lot better and looks way more stylish. Planning on getting an SUV by the end of the year (God willing) and Toyota seems to be the better option
Disagree that the Toyota Grand Highlander is more stylish and the interior is pedestrian compared to the Altas. Heck even the Lexus TX350, the Lexus version of the Grand Highlander, has a worse interior than the Atlas.
The 2024 Volkswagen Atlas offers four attractive trim levels: SE, SE with Technology, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line.
❤
Seeing this again. Very helpful comparison, thanks.
Glad to be of help! Thank you for the support!
Please do a similar video between the SEL and the SEL Premium R-line. Thanks.
Will try if we can get our hands on them.
I purchased the SE with Tech and Moonroof, black wheels. It comes with enough features that I didn’t feel the SEL options were worth the extra money.
Are you happy with your buy?

SE with Tech gets a Panoramic roof as a $1200 option.
@@donnyjackson1908That's good to know. I wouldn't mind paying the extra $1200 for that particular upgrade on the SE tech.
sucks that the tech package doesn't include an upgraded sound system. for that you have to go with the top trim. Premium R Line.
I gotcha, would that be a make it or break it for you?
Really great video thank you...I might go with the SEL...do they have blindspot monitoring standard?
Yes

I Believe there are 3 atlas Model Basic SE and SEL is true ?
SE, SE with Technology, SEL, and SEL Premium R-Line
For those who have these vehicles, are they reliable? what are some of the cons please explain!
I think it will take some time to see how this new engine is going to withstand.
which one would you recommend 24 Atlas SEL or 24 Telluride SX?

2 usb c in the 3rd row is overkill. Money better spent elsewhere like putting back the auto break hold.
