this was epic. was just in a dungeon and was often 4th in damage!! iv not got my head around affli locks in cata but after watcching this video i ran one more dungeon and while my trash damage was still low i was top on dps on all the bosses!.cant thank you enough. such small changes to my rotation made sooo much difference. i was so close to giving up on my lock (my main)but this has got me inspired :) just need to work on my aoe and trash mob dps now lol
Thank you for the video I wanted to know if dots updated dynamically or upon refresh. Appreciate your research. Flame caps have nothing to do with affliction lol. Also I would probably precast sbolt then cast elements while it's in the air, followed by unstable and then corruption to ensure your 2 best dots get all possible raid benefits upon application...as far as rotation goes.
I only just returned to the game and used to play warlock way back when but alot has changed. It seems I can no longer get Demon abilities from the Demon trainer? Are they level-locked in some way or have I missed something? I only just started again and I'm lvl 20'ish atm.
2 part question. Fel flame increases UA furation 6 deconds up to its max of 14. You can keep doing this. Does this snapshot the original cast or is it reset to your current stats. Part 2 I keep it rolling this way personally assuming it snapshots the original cast. Why would we waste a cast on UA when it can be refreshed by an instant ability that also hits for a small amount of damage?
I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I'm doing the rotation correctly, but i can't seem to break like 10k dps and keep getting kicked from heroic dungeons
It takes too long to ramp up dmg on trash mobs packs of 3-5. If you save your instacast to seed of corruption you can get a good burst every other encounter as it also puts corruption on other targets. Open with a UA on one target. Soulburn, seed of corruption spam. UA will give the damage needed ro pop seeds. Soulburn effect puts corruption on all other targets.
Why would enchanting be recommended over engineering? Synapse springs are a massive upgrade over double ring enchants, every other enchant can be done by other players.
@@astrosandorbits5532 the difference would be having permanent spell power but less amount vs greater spell power but with a cd. I do agree that for phase one, the 1min on use engineering should be better. but it would come down to boss kill times and sims.
This isnt the original Cata release rotation. During the original release, Affliction warlocks had to hardcast soulfire for a damage buff (on top of haunt). Soulfire was like a 2.5 or 3 second cast and everybody hated it, so blizz got rid of it after like 2 weeks.
20:04 Rings enchants. 40 Int per ring is more powerful then 23 spell power. Must maintain 475 enchanting skill. 40 Intellect per ring for 80 in total fair stronger than 23 spell power as Int is spell power. No doubt you may have already updated or corrected this. Plus you get Cata version of the Lightweave, which is nearly double the spell power effectively.
Great guide! Just a quick thing: Unstable affliction is applied only at the begginning, and refreshed by using Fel Flame; the same way you do with corruption and haunt.
refreshing unstable from fel flame only adds 2 more ticks, and does horrible dps resulting in a dps loss compared to the lock who manually refreshes...unless you use fel flame with tier bonus effect or to quickly keep unstable up RIGHT before you enter execute phase, allowing you to drain soul...which FULLY refreshes unstable affliction IN the execute phase only. Actually another good use of it is to apply your current spell power to unstable affliction while on the fly/run if you have a massive trinket or two proc at the same time!
Affliction unfortunately has one huge flaw, that makes it not viable, which is "Why sould you play this spec, if the same class has other, much better one?"

why do you have glyph of curse of exhaustion when you dont have the talent specced? Isnt it better to put something else there?

nah mate, you dont use fel flame unless you're moving or getting tossed around, its a dps loss, it refreshes UA by a cunt hair.

All 3 Warlock specs are performing well and are very viable.
