one of the most infectuous and genius pieces morrissey's come out with in years. one of my instant favorites from the italian sessions. i can't get it out of my head...and i don't want to. sigh...
its been a year since i first heard this song, and i am still not tired of it. its hard and sexy... and there's a difference between 'childish' lyrics, and having 'lyric efficiency.' its genuis.
In February 2006, Morrissey said he had been interviewed by the FBI and by British intelligence after having spoken out against the American and British governments. Morrissey said "The FBI and the Special Branch have investigated me and I've been interviewed and taped and so forth. They were trying to determine if I was a threat to the government, it didn't take them long to realise that I am not.
Yes, considering I have lived all my life in a rough part of Manchester UK, where where criminality is the socio-cultural norm. I have skirted around the outside of it most of my life. Due to a long term drug addiction have been on constant contact with everyone from shoplifters to gangsters asking me to hide a gun that was just used to end someone's life (I didn't take the gun and have avoided that person since). Due to this I'm now doing a degree in Criminology and Psychology.
Do you have any inkling of the REAL world of the professional criminal, or the professional politician, and the extent to which they manipulate both the coppers and the crims?
Apologies Herb, I misread your post, you are asking me about my knowledge of "blue collar" crime and organised crime. Well, no real first hand experience but I'm pretty sure as much knowledge about it as Moz, if not more. Not that that would be important of course.
I will re-listen to the song and try and clarify my point but I really wish people wouldn't get so offended or upset about someone else's opinion on this website. I am completely unimportant to everyone else on here, my opinion should have no emotive connections for anyone. There is no reason to take it or me so seriously. Not you Herb, Chavez in particular but it is not uncommon.
Triplesod, There is NO difference between the copaz, and the gangsters/crims, except one has sanction of the politico-legal circus..the other doesn't, and is used by the former. Until they reach the useby date, and that is the situation Moz is singing about...the fate of the unsanctioned, whne they rech the us-by date. And at that point, the 'mug'; has nobody to turn to...not the Ganglord who is in the pay (for the moment) of the politico-social circus, or the authorities. No offense ment.
I really need to point out that I'm not disagreeing in what Morrissey is saying, all I am saying is, very basically, I just don't think it his best writing. That's all, to me it just isn't as strong as most of his work.
Really? You sure? I don't believe you. Don't be so touchy and explain yourself Amigo. I'm one of Morrissey's biggest fans but to me, these lyrics seem very off par and somewhat childish. If you don't agree, fine, there is no reason why you should but instead of the hypocriticism, why not debate my point?
morrissey rules. This song struck me instantly. even after so many years, this gent still got the talent, voice, sound and style.

I'm not a big fan of the bow tie but Morrissey would look good in anything (especially my bed).

because thats what he wants. not everyone is obsessed with having HEAT Magazine cover their wedding
Triplesod...that last one's for you.
and i still turn to you, will you ever save me?
At 4:04 Look it's Morrissey's young self! He came by time machine especially to attend the concert.
Its PATHETIC that this song is more relevant today than ever before!!🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
RIP George Floyd.
jdean27 obviously knows nothing about music!!! This is Superb!!!
My God, is that Sean Connery up there ?
The Mozfather must have seen The Godfather once too many times lol
Why are the band all wearing t-shirt?
Moz looks very distinguished, and the song is okay - another song for his underclass fanbase.
what concert is this, when was it, and what country?
They say 'to protect and to serve'
But what they really want to say is:
"Get back to the ghetto! The ghetto!

You have issues with your hearing. Better get that tested.
Nick mason was very lucky he was in the Wright place at the time, but he isn't a good drummer, and I have been a Floyd fan for 45 years,

The most childish lyrics Moz has ever written I think.
