bonzo jr . brings tears to my eyes every time i watch kashmir,, and ye i honestly thought a tour would have happened.. but sets that long their not as young as before..cheers man loved it
I have seen Led Zeppelin "live" several times in the 70's and they had to do tours because few radio stations played their tracks. This was due to the content of their lyrics and the length of their songs. The demons we all encounter are handled by some better than others and drugs and alcohol was a scourge on our entire society in the 70's. When they lost John it was just too much to continue. I for one am greatful that they produced so much amazing music and will always be the GOATS.
Best Band Ever .. They came , Kicked Your Ass .. Then boom Gone .. This is the last time you saw the Golden God .. Today he is known as Robert Plant.. You will not see him like this again .. They are Killer at 60 plus years old ..
Thank you!! It would have be criminal if this final part hadn’t been unblocked! I own this and have watched many times but today I heard a sadness in Robert during “Stairway…” that I never picked up on before, just have to wonder if thoughts of those personal losses in his life were the reason, RIP Karac, John and Ahmet.
I think he changed the lyrics too. I heard him say “our stairway lies on the whispering wind” ….instead of “your” And yes, there was a wistfulness there….perhaps realizing it would be the last time he would ever perform it. That song, for Robert, was both a triumph and an albatross around his neck, but it sure must have brought back so many memories of days long gone while he sang it.
@@helenespaulding7562 He also shouted out after, "Ahmet, I did it” (wonder if that was Ahmet’s favorite LZ song?). I know a lot of people think Robert got tears in his eyes when this song was preformed at the Kennedy Center years ago because of the production etc. (and no doubt that Ann sung it so well), but I remember reading a statement by Robert after that he was overwhelmed with memories of John while seeing Jason on stage behind his dad’s drum kit. I think that may have been similar to what he felt having to get through the song on this occasion. And I heard that lyric change as well this time, Wayne listens so well, I knew I had to do the same in his presence (so to speak).
Selfishly I would have loved for them to tour but, Robert was in a different place and didn’t want to. However, this is how you go out. An amazing final concert that was 🔥🔥🔥. Led Zeppelin forever. ♥️
8:01 is my favorite shot from the video man. After everything and all of it, here are Page and Plant standing onstage bringing Stairway home and they share a look that says "can you believe it?"
It just acured to me that these guys have been doing these songs for decades and in comparison Jason is just a young one that makes his performance even more amazing his Dad is with him all the way.
Zeppelin toured every 2 years, if I'm not mistaken. And I've read that all of them, at different times, got weary of the touring. I think the length of their concerts was a huge factor. Sometimes a show would be 4 hours. And sometimes, if it was New York or LA, they would play like 3 nights in a row.
You are mistaken, the only time they really to a break from touring was to make Physical Graffiti was 1974., 1976 was because of Plant's accident and 1978 was because of Karac.
This concert was right before iPhones came out. Btw I met Jimmy Robert and Ahmet one night while having dinner in 1998 . They were sitting right behind me.
Page is still using the same Affects now as you get back then amazing I love Nickelback of 4th plant and was fortunate enough to see them do it at quite a few times best times my Is life.
Greetings Wayne... I'm sure you don't remember me but I just wanted to say I was one of your very early fans on here. In fact, you did a vlog on "one hit wonders" a couple years ago now and you picked my selection Green Eyed Lady from Sugar Loaf but after you played it someone pointed out they had another hit called "Don't call us". Its nice to see you still doing your excellent reactions!
Hello sir. Yes I remember you! I also remember getting shades of black slapped off for not including "Don't Call Us". Your name has since slipped me though. Hope you're well.
Page played about as well as he did on heroin and I’m good with that. Wish they would have done this in the 90s when page was playing near 75 level and plant singing on Key. Great show either way also wished they had an acoustic section
I heard that the band had to change the key that they were playing in because Robert, could not hit the high notes that he used to when he was younger.
I think Paige might have stole been into the stuff whether they toured a lot or not once you're addicted and you have a lot of free time maybe you might not do it or you might do it only he knows
Bonzo didn't really like touring that much he was more into his family his ranch and he loves his hot rods he loves his cars You might be right if they didn't tour that much but you don't know only they know
Plants voice wouldn’t hold up singing the Zep numbers on an extended tour, but I would have loved for them to recorded a new album and after then announce a limited US tour where they spread out the dates for proper rest so they can put on quality shows. Pick some major cities like NY,SF, LA, FL, CHI, TX , etc do three or four stadium shows in each place and then one epic final concert somewhere like Brazil to finish the tour and put it on PPV. I hate stadium concerts and would prefer arenas but the only way to do a limited tour is to do stadiums to satisfy the huge demand.
@@betseyr.9081 Totally true, I guess Jimmy was holding on to a Zep reunion that never really happened except for those three times and the Page /Plant tours. I would have been cool if Zep did an album and quick tour, even if it was mellow Tain Song style that would have been great, the Clarksdale album sucked. Page should have stuck with Coverdale , that was hands down the best thing he did without Zep.
@@dickcnormis1444 I was at Live Aid so saw them then , also saw Plant & Page at MSG a few times in the 90’s and not disappointed on any of these occasions. Would have gone to see Robert with Allison during the present tour but they just aren’t coming close enough to make it happen.
@@betseyr.9081 Hey , I was at Live Aid too, we rented a top notch winnabago camper and drove down from NY to Philly in style . We had beer, weed , blow and air conditioning plus a shower in the camper while everyone else were sweating to death in the cars. That weekend was like 95 and blazing sun. I also was at Atlantic Record’s at the Garden in 88, also saw Page/Plant at Brendan Byrne and The Garden for the 95 and 98 tours and Page with the Black Crowes at Roseland and Jones Beach in 99/2000. I got to Roseland early after work to wait for my friends and I was standing by the building and there was a side door open and I didn’t even realize they were doing a sound check until I head them going over Nobody’s Fault But Mine, then about half hr later I see a girl waiting on the corner and then a limo pulls up and Benji Lefavre, Pages guy comes out of the side door and Page is right behind him they get in the limo and sure enough they pick up the girl and leave.
That version of Kashmir is killer!
Recorded 27 Years after the Band Disbanded. Few can achieve such quality.
I remember when you were Led Zeppelin newbie! You're an expert now!

So glad you did this concert. Love this version of "Kashmir". The GOAT rock song by the GOAT rock band. Thank you!

Kashmir is absolutely the best track of the concert. IMO of course.
Totally agree!!! best version imo. the performance is just epic and Jason on the drums...dad was proud

For Your Life
You understand.
Dave was a close friend of Robert who was quite ill and died not long after the concert.

A lot of young people in the crowd

Robert moved on from LZ days decades ago (and it is great he has navigated a path HE wishes to follow), Jimmy hasn’t… end of story!
He did indeed. He also had an ever-loving blast this one-off concert. As did they all. Best reunion concert of all time.
