@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne I'm 42. Passed my test when i was 22. Only recently have I been using Calimoto to find these desolate hidden gems. Now I need a more suitable bike as my k1300s is a bit overkill and cumbersome for the really tight twisty narrow bits.
@@TheSd1cko I had a similar issue. I did have a Gen3 Hayabusa, but it is totally unsuited to nadgery lanes. As such I sold it and replaced it with 2 older bikes: Honda NC750X (ideal for country lanes) and a 2013 Kawasaki ZZR1400 (ideal for my frequent trips to Dorset from Warwickshire) I don't use any app, choosing to just follow my nose, although I am fortunate as I was a lorry driver for many years and as such have a decent idea where I am.
@@BibTheBoulderTheOriginalOne ye, I need to get a 2nd bike at some point but struggling for garage space at the moment and don't really want to get rid of the K. It's great for long trips and even for having some sporty fun on. Calimoto is excellent for helping to plan trips in very remote areas where roads are sparse and dead ends likely. I used to use my nose previous to this too but once I started venturing into the moors and peaks etc it's so easy to accidentally travel for miles down a single track lane and come to a dead end. A little pre planning has made me find some simply amazing views with literally no one around. I basically look on Google maps at roads that might be good and then plot them as points into Cali and let it fill in the blanks so I do them in a nice easy journey. My last ride out was 184 miles without stopping and at times I was driving for 20 minutes before seeing anyone at all or any vehicles in the middle of a sunny day, on top of the moors with views that went on forever.
Well done you two, great video and thanks for dropping the obligatory rock music after the intro that is blindly compulsory for any bike video.😎 Did laugh at your amazement of how traffic light is was on the A59 before Blubberhouses as although my go to road as default living in Harrogate, the 59 has been more shut than open over this last several months. Keep up the good work and here’s to more sunny days like those arriving soon. Love riding the dales and parks. 😊👍😎
I was thinking that when I was editing the video. I remember taking some photos of the garage used in the show on another ride out in North Yorkshire. Thanks for the clarity.
Great trip. Thank you for sharing. I guess you arrived in Whitby before they banned bike parking in several areas. I guess bikers now ride to Scarborough instead?
We pretty much gave up on parking in the station car park a few years ago when British Rail tried to ban bikes from there. We normally go up by the whale bones. I do miss being able to park at the bandstand though.
Vet rides a 650 Strom and I ride the 1000cc. The 650 is a little smaller than the 1000 and lot less heavy. Both are great to ride and perfectly suited to the roads in our videos. Thanks for your comment.
Hi Think if you take a look at your map at the beginning of your vid you’ll see the area called North York Moors Not North Yorkshire Moors. Sorry but I’m on a one man mission to get this area given it’s right name especially by you tubers who supposedly know this area.

You can get the GPX file for this route from the Vet and Beanie MyRouteApp page here: www.myrouteapp.com/group/routes/702#-1/name/asc

I enjoyed watching that, what a lovely day for a ride across the North Yorks moors, mind the sheep.
Great to see roads local to me. A stunning part of our planet 👍🏻
I do this all the time. Love finding hidden gems with little to no traffic on them. Glorious.
I'm a veteran of 43 years riding bikes, but only a recent convert to back lanes. Riding has never been so much fun.

That wer luvly
The back route from Pickering to Whitby via Egton Bridge is also worth seeking out.
Thanks for sharing that. We'll take a look at that and give it a go.
Amazing trip, thank you,!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!

I rarely see a bike video with rock music. Please provide some links.
Goathland was Heartbeat village not Grosmont, same railway though.

Great channel, I'm enjoying your vlogs, and i see you've discovered Skipton old road, its my fav route to skipton and further afield. Take care.
Thanks Bob. Skipton Old Road was one of our favourites especially if riding it meant a sausage sandwich at Route 59 Cafe. Thanks for watching.
What cracking run gorgeous day to boot gotta let the lads know about it , wife will love it on the vn1500 👍👍
Thanks buddy. It was a cracking day!

Yer a fantastic video but those lanes are very dangerous with the idiots on the road stay safe 👌💯👍
Great that just found your channel do ya need a certain sat nav to put routes in 🤔not very techy 😂 ride safe 🤞🏻👍
Most mototcycle sat navs (Garmin & TomTom) will allow you to import gpx files. If you use your phone, MyRouteApp works too. Thanks for watching.
I'm tempted to go for a suzuki strom in the near future, do you recommend them guys,
They look and sound lovely, do you ride the 1000cc ?

Pity this rider hasn't grapsed the rules about solid double-white lines.
😴
Hi just watched this painfully long video
I need to ask you a question
You overtook that car on double white line's
Which is totally illegal
And called the white van driver a word I would not say to not offend anyone reading this comment
I think it's out of order calling other road users about there driving/riding
When you break the law yourself
If your going to make content and call other road users and the blatantly break the law yourself
Not playing the game
Bit too much swearing and overtaking on double white lines for my liking. Sorry fella
