Why Do We Learn Reiki?

Why Do We Learn Reiki? What does one even learn in a Reiki course?
If Reiki is universal energy, then why should you take a Reiki course or training and progress through the training at all?
Often, the focus of a Reiki training or course is solely on healing and/or becoming a "healer." However, Reiki is far more than simply a modality to promote healing for yourself and, perhaps, others.
When viewed from this lens, perhaps one can see that this framing of the practice can quickly become something that the teacher can "give" to the student or can "attune" them to. Reiki is often described as something that, once "attuned," you can utilize to "balance chakras" or to "heal" yourself and others, but these understandings all miss the true nature of the practice.
In this video, I'm sharing my thoughts on why we actually learn Reiki (which I mean to only be Usui Reiki Ryoho). I hope my thoughts and points in this video benefit you wherever you are on your journey. Perhaps you are a teacher already and are looking for an understanding of Reiki that is free from all the belief and "magic," or perhaps you are a student who is just starting out and is wondering what it is you will learn - or perhaps you are somewhere in between.
