One of my favorite newer original song by Diana is In My Huge City. The song is a little blusey and is sculpted out of 100 year old Russian poetry about wandering around the big city at night with insomnia. It's a lyric video but the English subtitles are great and I think you would really love that one also. Good vid as usual. Enjoyed it.
I don't know whether this performance is my favourite, but I agree that this is definitely A-grade Diana. I agree too that it is a wonderful song, and that the romance in it is non-Western, in that one simply doesn't hear these profound and beautiful sentiments in Western music any more. For more sublime layering of Diana's voice, and another masterpiece composed by Brandon Stone, this time setting a poem by one of Russia's foremost poets, the long dead Marina Tsvetaeva, I recommend the very different, jazzy lyric video "In my Huge City" (posted on Diana's main channel).

As a Diana appreciator halfway around the World from where she performs I watch a fair number of reviews of her performances on YT, where I discovered her. You actually are one of the best at explaining what is being performed in my opinion. It seems to me you should have many more views and subs. That said, I appreciate the explanation of her voice and its effect on the listener that you give here. To me, I have never come across a voice that has the ability to hit me in the feels like her voice. It took me by surprise at first as a mostly stoic person, but for me, she is just on another level in terms of this ability and talent to convey emotion in both tone and presentation in a way that hits me to the core. Greetings from Scotland! I have been a fan of Diana's career since she was 13yo and this song, for me, is the most beautiful original song she has sung yet! The depth of emotion is staggering! 2 days after my youngest son decided that he was no longer in control of his life and sadly decided to do the unthinkable, Diana released this song - it destroyed me immediately! I needed to release all the shock and make sense of what had happened - Diana seemed to understand what had happened and released this. Coincidence, of course, but nonetheless it was just what I needed to be able to continue with living, to help his family get through this awful time. Thank you, Diana, you never let me down.
