  • Most manual antenna tuners are an "L-Network" configuration. This means some combination of L & C in and "inverted-L" shape. A few tuners will allow you to move the capacitor either before or after the inductor. But no tuner that I know if lets you reconfigure to all 4 different conditions. This can be advantageous for better matching efficiency and better output signal strength. This video will show you WHY you might want to do this, and HOW to do it by adding just 2 DPDT switches to your tuner with simple re-wiring.

Just thought about that today, because I have never owned an antenna tuner and took a look at YT what others have done and why.
Your video is great. Thank you.

Exactly, EXACTLY!!! what I was looking for. Your video saved me hours of head scratching. Now onward to sizing the inductor for inductance and power. If hobbies are to provide a sense of accomplishment while helping pass the time away, then radio fills the bill. Thanks for posting! KE5UYX
