We get a wide variety of vehicles in New Zealand. Euro cars only went EOBD in 2001, Japanese cars went obd2 in 2005. It would be interesting to see how well this would do on the vehicles we get here.

This is a bit misleading. Any car after "96" will have obd2 port. With the exception of Mitsubishi which put obd2 ports on "95" models but they do not work with obd2 scanners. And also some cars have obd2 but actually have a separate diagnostics port under the hood.
