Idc what anyone says a doctor is a great career. My grandpa was a GI doctor and has as much money as he could ever ask for, he’s built an entire church and can buy what ever he wants.
i guess Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account?
I somehow lost my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
Not for RUclipsr lol
10/10 recommend becoming a LASIK surgeon (ophthalmology MD). Best MD schedule, incredibly high pay ($1M/year), highly rewarding work and industry is growing at a RAPID rate.

Hey Shane! Thank you for all of your hard work. Between RUclips and your daily responsibility as a Pharmacist, it must be completely tiring. But, you're changing lives, and that's what counts. I know you've done a few medical videos already. But I think that speaking on the track to becoming an Healthcare Administrator would be so helpful to many because it doesn't involve clinical studies (normally). This degree can place you in the C-Suite of the healthcare system where a lot of money can be earned. I've just never seen healthcare administration mentioned in the lineup. I saw healthcare services management, but not healthcare administration. Having a clinical background is the difference. Anyway, I hope healthcare administration makes the cut some day. Keep doing S-tier work dude. You're Awesome ‼️
Hey Byron! Thanks a lot for the support man. Noted your request. Cheers!
I was pre-dental-ortho before pre-med and my dentist told me his parents told him to do dental school. I asked him if he is happy now and he told me the happiest. I agree, I feel like you need a balanced lifestyle. Who wants to work all day and not see family or friends? So many doctors end up skipping so many family events and are depressed just to study. By the time they are done with school, they are behind on life! Im just saying I’m glad I never applied to med school.🙏🙏 Orthodontics is where the $$ is at NOT dentist.
A little bit of everything makes life fun.Career, money, family, friends, traveling, buying a home , etc. 🎉🎉🎉
A good work life balance.. right Deema! Thanks for sharing your thoughts
I think you should have mentioned the work life balance of dentists. My dentist told me he makes about 600 K per year from his personal practice. He only works 3 to 4 days a week (~30 hours) to make that income. Of course it’s hard to develop a successful practice but it’s still very doable.
Im not even in the medical field but I'm glad I tuned in..and you're right, it takes the right person to be a medical doctor, I see that in my young brother
Thanks for watching Martha

Hummus is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe. It can also be found in most grocery stores in North America and Europe.

Dental hygienist here. He's so right about the dental hygienist career. The pay is actually a little higher. ~$50/hr in big cities. It can a 6-figure job. If you are thinking about pursuing this careering... please know that you will be scraping someone's teeth with that noisy metal every hour, just different sets of teeth. VERY repetitive, very no to a minimal room to grow. I'm looking to get out of this career, hence I'm here at this channel.
still no mention of anesthesiologist assistant..... its a gold mine career and no one talks about it. its essentially an Anesthesia PA that makes 150k-200k
Wait really? I have never heard of this job. What is the job about?
@@lumalah9144 its very similar to a PA program in that its 24-28 months and is a masters degree. You work under a supervising physican like a PA does but you can only work in anesthesia. You essenttially are in charge of the patient's anesthesia during a surgery once the attending anesthesiologist leaves the room. Pay starts around 150k. Ever wonder why PAs dont specialize in anesthesia? because theres a separate career for that with the AA programs and CRNA programs.
@@UneasyTortoise Thank you for telling me this
@@UneasyTortoise But there's not a lot of job for Anesthesiologist Assistant compared to Nursing
@@mindhunter8772 wrong. all AA programs have a 100% job placement and students can graduate with 3-4 job offers. there is a big demand for anesthetists right now. And some practices will prefer AAs over CRNAs trying to scope creep on MD jobs.

Hi Dr Shane! What about Cancer related Masters degrees such as Msc Cancer Biology, Translational Oncology ? Can you pls make a video talking about all these factors, Job availability, Finances and others. Thank you!
Hey, great video. I’m currently a radiation therapist student in Europe. We have to do a bachelors to work in this field, also in my country we don’t have associates degrees so that’s interesting. I have looked into working in the US when I graduate and in some states I think bachelors is becoming necessary.

Thank You!
Thanks for this video Shane! These videos are helping me choose between pursing a medical degree or a computer science degree.
Welcome Sam
Same but Im deciding between a medical or design computing degree.
I was hesitant about that too but i chose a medical degree
Don’t let the fact that np’s can work independently unlike pa’s get to your head as this is only for some states not all and you still won’t be able to do surgery also if you want to work in the hospital you’ll still be under a physician. Now I’m not saying don’t go np cuz working independently is overstated it’s still a good benefit but also look at the other aspects of pa and np. They both diagnose pretty much the same stuff this video does kinda make it seem that pa’s just do simple colds but they do much more so in diagnosing it’s pretty much the same. What model do you wanna learn under pa’s learn under the medical model while np’s learn under the nurse model. Pa’s can switch specialties more easily than np’s but of course np you can still switch your specialty fairly easily unlike a doctor which is so much harder. There are more differences like how np school you graduate with a specific patient population degree so like women’s health and other differences. A little extra thing if you wanna work in a surgical specialty go the pa route.

Is it more worth it to go into something like radiation therapy/sonography and take on less debt rather than go into fields such as Occupational therapy/ Physical therapy ? I already graduated with a bachelor's degree BUT I don't know if its worth to go back to school for an ASSOCIATES in radiation therapy /sonography or KEEP moving forward and go for a Masters or doctorate in occupational therapy/Physical therapy.. Would getting into fields that only require an associates ultimately become saturated?? ( would an associates in radiation therapy /sonography be any LESS saturated than Masters/doctorate in occupational therapy/ Physical therapy) ?? PLEASE HELP !! Thank you for your videos !!! =)
Optometry- Could you please make a video on it?
Side Note About Nurse Practitioners: Many programs require, or at least highly suggest, you have a couple years of RN experience before you can apply to an MSN/DNP program (even though there are cases that you can). This should be taken into account when looking at your timeframe of completing school. For most people, it won't be a strict 4 years of undergrad and 2 years of grad school. It will be a lot younger from the beginning of your education to the end.
Thanks for adding that DeAndre
Hi Shane! Absolutely love your vids! I'd like to say how expensive it is to have any degrees or become or doctor in the us, bc I live in Quebec, Canada, where you can become a MD and practice in 6 years (or can be longer, depending of the school/residency) , and as a Quebecer, the cost of school is EXTREMELY LOW, like the most expensive school has 5K/year for school fees, (and that's in Canadian dollars, which are worth less than the US), and the average debt is very low, bc the scholarships are frequent and school fees are very low, and cost of living can be very very decent
the pay is also very good, so we have less debt, you can do less time in school and the salary can get you everything you want here !
-We don't have DO degrees here btw*
the thing is you don't even have to get a 4 years undergraduate degree before, ... kinda ! we have one less year of high school than the US system, and after high school you can do a 2 year program in a "CEGEP" and apply in med school with those marks... just so you know how expensive/ long it is in the US compared to here !
Thanks for watching Alexandra. I might make a video for you

@@jvaughan7643 You go work in the army for a number of years after your graduation, i think.
@@jvaughan7643 it's an rotc program in college they pay your tuition and you serve afterwards. Or you can enlist first and use the gi bill to cover college. But if go to college first you can potentially go in as a officer and make far more money.
Hi!Can you please talk about Veterinary Medicine?DVM? Thanks:)
Great video!! How are NP’s and PA’s able to switch fields of medicine so easily? Is there an exam or assessment for them to switch from speciality to specialty
They can switch because they are never really specialists to begin with. There is literally no standards. If you ever call a specialist office for an appt, think twice before seeing a non-physician. One thing he leaves out is that as a PA, and especially an NP, you have to deal with constant berating from referring physicians upset (rightfully) that their patients are being seen by “providers" that claim to be specialists yet have less training and education that non-specialist physicians.

Can I ask what degree you ended up choosing?
Being a physician is not overrated. It just needs to be the right fit, of which, most people don’t know about until they think critically about it.
Can you make a video about the differences between a clinical psychologist and a psychiatrist? Things like work life balance, nature of work, possible subspecialties, flexibility, etc. Thanks!!
yes I want to know this too
Average dental is pay is pretty low, for the time and investment, but there is more entrepreneurial possibilities that other basic med degrees don't offer and if you are good you can do alot more work yourself instead of referring. A dentist in my town has only referred one case in his life and does wisdom teeth in house. Was making 4mm a year pretax in 2010 and our town starting shrinking but still makes over 3mm a year all by himself no partners.
Thanks for your input Henry

Neuroscience is 4 years. That’s if you’re also able to pass the exams to get into med school. Else, know that a neuroscience degree is only useful at a PhD level (research!).
@@agbaya5314 Hmm what about if you double major in neuroscience and let's say marketing, CS etc.?
@@angelusvastator1297 marketing and computer science especially are great degrees that are hot right now. Neuroscience isn’t hot at all. I wouldn’t even say it’s in demand. Your career option with neuroscience is research only which is a terrible career choice. Academia research is just a nightmare with no job security, no benefits and no good pay.
All my friends who did the degree at honours level still couldn’t find jobs. All of them are now doing new degrees like nursing, physiotherapy etc.
pharmacology is the best stepping stone into medical school as far as I know. It’s not easy to get into med from pre med but good luck. I don’t know anyone that moved from pre med into medical school.

Super informative Video! Thank you :) x
However to be a PA you have to have some type of medical background such as being an emt or a nurse etc. And some schools don't require it right away but you must have some type of job shadowing under another licensed PA
Can you shadow them before joining the schooling?
My friend finished nurse anesthetist about a year ago, and she is making around 160k
I don't know if you have done this (I honestly tried checking) but if not, please do Veterinary Sciences. I want to know if you think its worth it because it looks very borderline and a lot of people want to be a Vet I think. I suppose what else would you study to take care of animals? But still might be a bad decision.
