Great video. My brother and I paddled from Gympie to Noosa a few years ago, there’s a video on RUclips showing the Gympie to Noosa portage trail. Loved the May River section. Such a scenic river, and spotting platypus and ceratodus is a thrill.
Glad you enjoyed it, I've seen your epic video of the trip from Gympie to Noosa, it looked like a great trip. Mary River isn't always flowing which is a pity as they could make a great Canoe trail on it.
Another great video. Appreciate the info regarding the drop in and pick up locations and also the local contact. Will have to put this trip on my list. Not too far from my home too. Cheers.
Excellent information about the river. I'm in Maryborough and tend to go in at Tiaro and paddle upstream, quite wide and slow moving in that section. I still haven't done an overnighter yet. 👍
Another great video…! I especially appreciated your trip notes at the end as you answered nearly every question I was wondering. The only other questions I wanted to know was when does the fishing ban end, and did you see any Toga or Mary River Cod? I only cast fly and that would be an amazing fishing trip challenge. Can’t wait to see where you are heading next. Cheers. 👍🐟🛶
Hi Brendan no I didn’t my understanding of reading online is that if we do the right thing and don’t leave a mess then the farmers are okay with that. Key is to make sure you leave it better the way you found it, which is exactly what I did. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Thx Paul I did see that part at the end but google wasn’t helpful when trying to locate bu I did manage to find it later. I enjoy your vids, Thankyou. Always looking for prospecting routes. Biggest problem always is to have a vehicle or contact for each end of the trip.
Hi Scott, I had Ian from Ride on Mary drop me at then finish which allowed me to get back when it suited me. His website is: www.rideonmary.com Have a chat with him, he's really helpful. Cheers Paul
Hi Bjorn, yes I change when I get to rapids as the aluminium paddle is lighter and shorter which makes quick changes a lot easier. I also don’t want to jam my wooden paddle between rocks and break it. Thanks for watching. Cheers Paul
@@Getgowinaren’t you worried that there might be one around still? I’m not from a place where we have crocodiles, so if I knew that crocs lived in that river, I would go nowhere near it haha. I’ve read mary river have 15 crocs pr KM ? That seems like pretty many haha
Hi Cam, no the crocodiles are in the Norther waters and rivers 1,000km away from me. Just like there are no Aligators in Oregon. So very safe in South East Queensland.
Looks like a nice part of the world Paul. There is something special about a river paddle. They can be hard with rapids, blockages etc but the good bits are super enjoyable. FYI my canoe should be in the mould now. Looking forward to getting it. How do you find your Luminaid? Shame you didn’t film the swamping as its always fun to laugh at somebody else’s misfortune. Maybe there was too much swearing.😂
Hi Ken, thanks for the feedback. Great news on your canoe, looking forward to seeing it. I didn't film the swapping which is a real shame (probably was some swearing), it would have been great for a laugh. Cheers Paul
@@Getgowin to follow on from Ken’s comment, next time maybe you need to film any inconvenient swamping from three different angles… the viewers will certainly appreciate it😂
Hahaha, why is it we all like watching another guy tipping out of their Canoe? Next time I’ll run it again with cameras on the bank so you can see my legs go in the air😅
I watch the Ray Mears and Ray Goodwin canoe trip video probably twice a year. So inspiring.
Yeah I love their videos.
Thanks for sharing...great content
Thanks Vincent for the support and SUB. Cheers Paul

You've got an Ian too! Gotta love having an Ian to drop you off and pick you up 😉. Gorgeous little river to trip on... thanks for the trip notes 👍
Hahaha, yes Ian from Ride on Mary was very helpful. Cheers Paul
I've got the same boat in the same colour and often paddle in the mary. :)
Well that’s crazy, you have great taste in Canoe selection. Cheers Paul

Pleasure Adam, I hope you enjoy the trip. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
Nicely done Paul!
Cheers Spike
Found this thought you would like to watch
Was this for me?

Cheers, I haven’t been to the other sections yet. I would like to do a trip from the source to the bay. Maybe one day.
On the list, looks Good!
Cheers Ian

Thanks Simon. The ban finishes on the 31st of October. I did see some Cod, and there are Bass and Saratoga, so Fly fishing would be brilliant.
Thanks for the vid Paul, might just give that one a crack now. Cheers Shaun.
Pleasure Shaun, definitely worth giving it a run!
Just subbed love oz. Spent 3 months there.
Thanks for the Sub!
Great vid again. Did you make contact with land owners to camp where you wanted?

Enjoying your footage. Where did you commence and finish this paddle.
Hi Robert, I spoke about this at the end of the video. Dropped in on Walker road and out at Middleton rd. Cheers Paul

what a lovely video! may I ask what camera you used? thank you!
Hi Charisse, thank you! I use 2 x GoPro 9’s shooting in 4K. Thanks for watching. Regards Paul
New sub ! Liked 😉😆🙌🔥😃😍🐸
Cheers and thanks for the Sub
Another great looking adventure Paul! Did you get someone to drive to the put in from where you parked your car?

Great vid. Why do u put your fire on rocks? Never seen that.
It keeps the wood off the wet sand. The rocks dry instantly and, allow the air in under the fire. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul
He likes to play "exploding rock roulette" 🤣
I was always told to never use rocks in or near a campfire as they could explode and kill you 🤷♀️
@@AmyOutdoors they can if they get to hot around the fire, but underneath they don’t get that hot.
@@AmyOutdoors The rocks only explode if they are soaked full of water out of the river as a general rule
I notice you change paddles through the video? Is that change in water conditions or something else?
Hi Bjorn, yes I change when I get to rapids as the aluminium paddle is lighter and shorter which makes quick changes a lot easier. I also don’t want to jam my wooden paddle between rocks and break it. Thanks for watching. Cheers Paul
What animals do u have at the river..no crocs right?
Hi Jack, thanks for the Sub! No crocs this far south, just fish and Platypus. Thanks for watching, cheers Paul

Hi Ken, sorry I missed your question. The Luminaid Light is excellent, really handy that it folds down to nothing and has a solar panel.
