9:15 .. thats the smile i envision Nate was aiming for his whole life. Having you respectfully watch his growth from the beginning with empathy and honest love in the few criticisms.. always making a note not to forget he’s “growing” is so beautiful to watch with you specifically. I think we can all admit Nate began and still feels so much younger than he is... to me, that moment in the last hook, the smile, feels like the smile of a proud father whos been there with him, proud hes finally become a positive, genuine, hope. I think the only reason he sounds so genuine, and not corny, is because we’ve seen him at his lowest.. and hes finally learning self love, the importance of his own health and making the change. ❤️ i adore your NF playlist. Also, someone made a short vid called NF- Power of Vulnerabilty, i’d love to hear your thoughts on.. some others have already. Its a beautiful thought piece on Nates humanity. Many hearts.
The way you explained it like he's the "big brother" of the situation just hit a little too close to home, especially since my own older brother isn't around at all. This song just hits really different for a lot of us, I think. We all feel so alone when in reality we're all connected because we're experiencing really similar situations, emotions, etc. It's kinda beautiful.
That's the thing about this song. He connects with all people. That's what makes home different. Regardless of skin of color or ethnicity or whatever people want to look at. We all go through some of the same stuff together. I mean this song hits hard. But like NF talks about he makes REAL music. Bro I hope you have a better days brother. Because i feel ya. Shit sucks. Thanks man for the reaction. Your like the NF of reaction videos.

I love your NF reactions, found out about his music at a pretty tough time in my life and your reactions just make me so happy about the music and memories of far i have come from then.
The hook when he says "just in case my car goes off the highway" is referring to his I Just Wanna Know video where the person drives off the highway, and the "or if the plane I get on decides that it's my last day" is referring to his Real music video where he's in a downed plane.
He connects on an emotional level. It just isn't based on the shade of skin, which is such a silly thing for us all to identify so closely with. NF appeals to people, anyone who can think.
This man with 15k subs putting out 1 mill sub type of content. Keep grinding, my bro! The growth is coming! Crazy how Nate keeps evolving, huh? Can’t wait to hear the fire he brings on the next album!
His ability to relate, as well as the honing of his skills over the last two projects is just so impressive. Really like this track. Drifting is still one of my faves though.
Paralyzed, How Could You Leave Us, I Miss The Days, and Just Like you have been the songs that have made me cry because of the relatable and powerful words, definitely my favorite artist of all time.
I have been following you for a while. It baffles me that your not at atleast 100k subscribers by now. Your education on rap is phenomenal. Thanks professor.
Dude, you've been my favorite NF reactor this whole time, but I have to push back on the way he relates. I think NF is relatable to anyone of any race or religion or nationality and that's what makes him so powerful is that he actually shows that all of us go through the same stuff regardless of who we are. I would also push back on rap being a black art form, in the same way I would push back on anyone that said golf was a white sport. Art and expression just like Athletics transcends race.
Exactly my dude, that was my point. NF transcends race, religion, gender which makes his music have such a huge impact. Hip-Hop originated as a black art form, I'm not saying that because I'm bias because of my own skin tone, that's just is what is there's history to prove that. That's why I used, albeit a modern example, Kendrick's Blacker The Berry as an example. Hell, the whole TPAB album (imo) messaging relates so much to struggle of what it's like being black, sure everyone can listen to it, but it 100% hones in on the black experience, you only have to look as far as songs like 'Alright' and 'Momma' to understand that. Another great example to support the notion that Hip-Hip is a black art form is 'Wav.Files' by Lupe Fiasco the song is about the transatlantic slave trade (of course there's the double there about him comparing it to his time at his record label atlantic) There are so many songs, albums, historical facts I can reel off to support that argument. Do you think NF would ever make a song with content like WAV.Files, Blacker The Berry? He definitely could if he wanted to but that's risky move that would land in him in hot water (being labeled a culture vulture for talking about things that do not relate to his experience), So chances are he wouldn't especially in the day and age of Twitter cancel culture. Has Hip-Hop expanded to allow other races, nationalities to take part? Absolutely and I love it too. I'm so happy that artists like NF can destroy rappers like Chance when it comes to album sales, I'm so happy that NF is a lot more lyrically adept than a lot of newer rappers out there black or white, I'm so happy the he gets to share his own unique perspective on things. If that wasn't the case, it would suck and if hip-hop remained siloed I'd probably stop supporting it. In fact it would be racist not let other nationalities and races shine in the genere, that's why I don't fuck with Snoop Dogg (as a personality, still fuck with his music) after the whole Eminem debacle. Plus athletics and Hip-Hop is like comparing apples and oranges, Hip-Hop is an expression, Golf is a physical activity there's a massive difference. I don't think Tiger Woods is thinking about slavery, oppression and his ancestors and when he swings his golf club. I understand we shouldn't label things based on race, gender, religion as choosing an identity causes more separation between people who choose to be what they are; 'Black vs white' 'Religion vs Homosexuality' 'Conservative vs Liberal' Identity causes so many problems. But we do have to acknowledge where things come from if the historical facts are there. With hip-hop there's enough evidence FOR ME to feel like it's a black art form but it shouldn't (and doesn't) limit who is able to enter the arena. That's like someone trying to make the argument that The Bible is rooted in Islam, if that was the case why would you have the Quran? it's all up for interpretation at the end of the day I guess. I really appreciate you challenging my thoughts, I love having these types of healthy debates without it getting personal like most internet debates do!
