Understanding more clearly what "First born" means in Jewish history and social order. Better now do I embrace that Jesus is TRUE MAN and TRUE GOD. I can see where some replies here need to go back and hear this message again. Thank you Bro. Chuck for this message!

I have accept that Jesus Christ is the only Begotten Son of father GOD. I have accepted that Jesus Christ is Almighty God as evidence by Colossians 1:16-17. But in Revelation 5:1-14 it appears that Jesus Christ who is the Lamb of God who takes the book out of the one who sits on the throne.

@@dasdrei5059Well then it shows a distinction between Almighty Most High Father God-YHWH and Jesus Christ-the Lamb of God/Only Begotten Son of God. It would be confusing to conceive that if JESUS IS YHWH, that he would take the book out of his own hands as he sat on the throne in REvelation 5:1-14.

@@victorstrong7378 No, it’s not confusing if you understand how YHWH has revealed Himself in Scripture. YHWH is unlike His creation of mankind, in the sense of His complexity of Personhood.
Yes, Jesus is distinct from the Father in His Personhood, but exactly the same as the Father in His character, Divine nature, and Being. Created human beings are simple and singular in our personhood, YHWH is complex. We differ with God in that aspect of our being. This is what the scriptures reveal and exactly what Jesus revealed about God.

Mr.Quarles said that the deity of Christ is the essential claim of the Christian faith. Not sure what bible he reads. The essential claim of Christianity is not that Jesus is deity, but that He is the long awaited prophesied Messiah and King of Israel, and he was crucified for making those very claims. Jesus is also the one mediator between God and man, the man Christ Jesus. Certainly, childlike logic dictates that if Jesus is being described in Colossians 1 as the IMAGE of the invisible God then he is NOT God! If you look in a mirror, the image in the mirror is not the person! It is an image. With all due respect, how did he miss that? In Colossians the question he so sorely misses is was Paul giving a commentary on the first creation? or speaking of the new creation? If Paul was speaking of the first creation, then what was revealed about the first creation in the old testament was not the truth and this would make God a liar.

  • @davidjasurda6648
    @davidjasurda6648 4 года назад

Paul knew exactly what he was taking about in Col 1:15. Jesus the Firstborn of all creation. He even knew what the word preeminence meant as is evidenced by Col 1:18 where he actually uses word the preeminence. Paul is not saying Jesus has preeminence therefore God says he is the Firstborn of all creation. No! Paul said he is the Firstborn of All Creation therefore he has preeminence. Firstborn means firstborn in all cases throughout the Bible, and each has been appropriately placed within its context and should be reviewed within its context. The secret to Col 1:15 is about the belly button. Jesus had a mother. Adam did not. Stay with me.
The first Adam did not have a belly button, but he did have life. Genesis 2:7-8 And God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life/blood and man became a living soul. And God planted a garden eastward, in Eden; and there he put the man whom he had formed.
Leviticus 17:11For the life (God’s Life) of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you on the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood by reason of the life that makes atonement.
As we can see the first Adam was created and not born, thus no belly button.
    The last Adam. (Jesus Christ)
God placed his blood/ seed into Mary/mankind (virgin birth).
Acts 20;28 Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock, among which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, to shepherd the church of God which He (God) purchased with His own blood.
Creation/Mankind after the fall of Adam/Creation.
Everyone after the fall of mankind/first Adam were born into sin. We were of our father the devil. This is why we needed a new life/new Father.
For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons by which we cry out, “ Abba! Father!”
    Romans 8:15
(We were dying as our blood/life was tainted by sin and we were no longer part of the living/God’s creation/life.) My words not the Bible.
”God did not create the fall of man. Nor did God create the results thereof. The fall of man was not part of the six day creation.
1John 3:8-10 the one who practices sin is of the devil; for the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The Son of God appeared for this purpose, to destroy the works of the devil. No one who has been born of God practices sin, because His seed remains in him; and he cannot sin continually, because he has been born of God. By this the children of God and the children of the devil are obvious: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother and sister.
So with that said Jesus was the first person of all creation who was born alive unto God, since the creation of the first Adam. Jesus was the only person to be Born without sin in his life/blood after the fall of Adam. Thus Jesus had a belly button as he was born of mankind/virgin birth after the fall of Adam. Jesus was the Firstborn of all creation. A new creation.
Gal 6:15 For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.
Both the first Adam and the last Adam we're of the unblemished blood/life from God. Follow the blood.
    Thank you.Enjoy the Word.

    Hello
Colossians seems to be another comparison of Adam vs Jesus
    Old creation can New creation
    Old creation
Adam was the image of God
    Adam was the firstborn
Adam was given authority to rule over the old creation
    Adam disobeyed
    -
    New creation
The risen Jesus is the image of God
He is the firstborn from the dead
    He is given all authority
    Jesus obeyed
It’s talking about an authority structure
    Thrones principalities powers
    Not “trees birds and mountains”
The context is also the RISEN Jesus
    Not Jesus before his exaltation
Jesus can’t be the firstborn from the dead before he died?
Also God can’t be the firstborn from the dead, God can’t die
    --
    Jesus is the Messiah
    The Son of God
    The Son of David
    The Son of man
The man God has chosen to be his anointed king
The man God will judge the world through
The man God raised from the dead
Jesus will return and rule the nations with believers in the kingdom of God on the earth
    Jesus has a God
There is no triune god in scripture
Jesus said the Father is the only true God!
    John 17
3 And this is eternal life, that they know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.
    -
    Acts 3
13 The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Servant Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied before the face of Pilate, when he had determined to release him.
14 But ye denied the Holy and Righteous One, and asked for a murderer to be granted unto you,
15 and killed the Prince of life; whom God raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.

@@mitchellc4 Jesus is God who took on human nature at the incarnation.
“Have this same attitude in yourselves which was in Christ Jesus [look to Him as your example in selfless humility], who, although He existed in the form and unchanging essence of God [as One with Him, possessing the fullness of all the divine attributes-the entire nature of deity], did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped or asserted [as if He did not already possess it, or was afraid of losing it]; but emptied Himself [without renouncing or diminishing His deity, but only temporarily giving up the outward expression of divine equality and His rightful dignity] by assuming the form of a bond-servant, and being made in the likeness of men [He became completely human but was without sin, being fully God and fully man]. After He was found in [terms of His] outward appearance as a man [for a divinely-appointed time], He humbled Himself [still further] by becoming obedient [to the Father] to the point of death, even death on a cross.”

      Hello
Philippians 2 is may be a comparison with Adam
      Modern scholars acknowledge this
Adam was in the image of God
      Instead of humbling himself
He grasped at equality with God by eating the fruit (you will be like God!)
Because of this he was kicked out of the garden and died
Jesus was in the image of God
Instead of grasping at equality with God he humbled himself as a servant
And obeyed all the way to the point of death
Because of this God has highly exalted him
This is from the University of St. Thomas:
“A second group of biblical scholars argues that in Phil 2:6-11 Paul (or whoever authored the hymn) was not describing a pre-existent, divine being but rather the earthly Jesus of Nazareth. These scholars generally interpret the periscope as exhibiting a "Second Adam" Christology. According to this Christology, the earthly Jesus described in the hymn did not have equality with God. Christ made a choice - unlike the Adam of Genesis - not to grasp at equality with God, but to be obedient to God by accepting death.”
There are many more scholars who will say this doesn’t say anything about a pre existing person transforming into a human
