I totally agree with him. Aline the hole of the head joint with the keys. Take it from there. Then after spending some time on long tones decide what position you find your best tone as well as control of intonation.

I would say put your headjoint wherever you play best with your tuner. However I have heard that while there is a tendency to roll it in, rolling the head joint to far in limits you when the going gets tough...

Only reason I rolled my headjoint in is to keep my flute from falling towards me when I'm playing. If I'm not resisting the weight falling then it frees up my fingers and allows me to play with better technique.

In Yamaha flutes there's some kind of an arrow to put the headjoint where it must go. I always let it there. Anyway i hate flutist with their headjoints positioned inside of their chin. They sound thin. They loses deepness in sound and they sound horrible like and oboe full with sticky saliva!!

dear friend, the notes as RAMPAL says are played by anyone, but the sound is not so easy ,,,,,,
Without sound, nothing of quality can be achieved. Now, one piece of advice, you noticed that many flutists play with a nice sound despite not having a high-end flute.
that is precisely the correct apoggio or support ,,,,,
First take a breath, then take it to the lower zone, and finally think when you are blowing that you are urinating when you speak or touch, the speed of the air must be that of the vibration of the lips, up throat tongue without any movement only an opening of forehead, flat lower lip, flute in the hollow of the chin, relaxed upper lip and forward, good luck, and I am at your service,
Pahud has that sound because it has achieved mastery in the support, because the sound comes from below, notice the different degrees of pressure that differentiate it from other great masters of the flute, who despite having perfect pich do not have that sound, as he explains Here the embochure must be all relaxed, the lower lip flat and the upper lip more relaxed and forward, the mouth must be open in a fore-yawn, you will see how the sound changes in long notes, the secret for both the flute and the singing is the suportt.
do not look at how I play on my channel because this still does not apply to what I play, I am 63 years old, always remember that I play, sing, or speak, take a breath before, take it down and then think about what you are urinating, start to feel that feeling in the diaphragm -
What happens is simple, as all magic tricks are discovered and taught, the secrets of the mastery of the flute are also leaking, but this is valid for any wind instrument, from a horn to an oboe, because the sound management is done naturally with the air column ,,,,, successes, do not hesitate to ask what you want ,,,
