Watching your life from afar, Pennsylvania USA, I wish that I have lived your life when I was younger. I believe in my heart that a simple life prepares us for the future. I have truly enjoyed your journey thus far!
Twenty eight minutes of concentration lol, great winter prep and a nice break from working the heavy machinery. I do agree with you, having the right tools for you working mostly on your own is key. Can you imagine trying some of those jobs without it. Odin is just such a treat for me, he is talking so much now and is at the ' mini me' stage, wanting to do what you are lol. Great preparation, take care, ❤️
When I watch some Alaska survival channels, they sharpen the teeth of the chain saw blade with a special file. Have you tried to sharpen the blade on your chain saw? I will sharpen the blade on my lawnmower in the summer, and it cuts cleaner after I do. Here in America, too many parents put children in daycare, or use babysitters, so it is very good to see parents who are present and interacting with their children like you do with Odin. Have a very good week!
I've watched every video and I'm surprised you haven't got yourselfs a trailer to go behind the ride on mower for doing jobs like stacking logs. As always love the videos and Odin is a star.
Odin king of the castle ❤. You’re so right about having your own quality tools maintenance is the key I still have most of my tools that I purchased in the 1990s I give them regular maintenance and try and keep them clean, I don’t have lots of money so I don’t really enjoy paying someone else to do work.
Pancakes in Norway are probably even thinner. Typical Saturday food alternately with porridge...especially if we are going to have pizza or tacos in the evening. Served with sugar and or blueberry jam and bacon.
My grandmother was the daughter of a German immigrant and she made what all my relatives called grandma pancakes, and they was very similar if not the same as your what I refer to as egg pancakes, because there is a lot of eggs in the batter compared to so many other pancake batters.
Mniam, mniam! 😀 Pozdrowienia z Polski 🇵🇱
Namaste(Greetings) from NEPAL. As i am new to this channel, i've watched all episode from beginning to end this week. I loved it so much. I wish you guys be happy always as you are now. Also i am super excited for next episode . please mention my name if you read this ARUN KARKI. lastly congratulations for new journey of your life.
I know what you mean about the weird weather this year. Last week we had one day of 15°C and the next we had 4 inches of snow!!!! I was watching a channel, Martijn Doolard who built himself a nice little lean to next to his house to keep his wood dry in winter. He lives up in the mountains in Italy, but he does all his own work with occasional help from friends. He is renovating two small buildings to live in. He built a great chicken coop, a beautiful green house, and will build a workshop when it warms up. Check out his wood store against the house. You have become a great custodian of the land. Removing the trash, amending the soil, and cropping grasses is a lot of work. You're funny! You talk back to mechanical voices too.
When Anicia turns over these pancaces it looks soooo easy! When I try to turn them over it results in a circus performance 🤔 😶🌫 🙃😊 Thanks for another great video! Greetings from Switzerland and please give June a good rub on the belly on my behalf! Charles
What is left to complete the dam to capture your water from the rains? I am looking forward to seeing the completion of all that dirt moved to build your damn wall.
No, you want the ends exposed so that the interior of the wood dries out (“seasons”). The exposure to the ends is relatively minimal unless your rain is blown sideways by the wind.
if you are going to buy a chainsaw i would also have checked out jonsered have had the saw for 25 years used in the forest every winter live in Norway❤
Dumb question. Wood regrows, can cost very little and doesn’t need electricity generation plants and transmission systems. Have you ever even left your crowded city and been to the countryside?
You can't cut any trees you want in France - and even taking dead wood can be considered stealing. Trees are protected, you need authorization, and a good reason, to cut them down. Don't go to your nearest forest and start taking wood, you'll get in trouble.
You are allowed to cut Down any tree on your own land, dead or Alive. Though some trees you May have to seek approval from the government, because they Can be protected.
Such a blessing you have, building a life making memories and a wonderful documentary of Odin growing and learning. Thank You for letting us join you.
Hi! The wood stacks are perfect. Favorite part: Photo of Odin on the wood stack. 😊.
OH YES, Young King on its throne. Thank you.😉😊😊😊😊
Bon courage and stay safe.👍👍👍👍👍
STIHL is a solid decision, especially long-term wise! The words MADE IN GERMANY have a deep and honest meaning! Good choice!
We bought the 500i, used it once already and the power is amazing 🫣
Your stacks of wood are very impressive! Should keep you warm for several winters ☺️
“Hallo mama!” 🥰
Pre-maintenance is much better than having to make repairs. Nice woodpile, to keep the home warm.
I enjoyed the sound of the wind. Especially as it gives the urgent feeling you have to get inside but there’s still work to finish.
It was very windy but it came from the south so it was nice and warm 🤗but we had to get the wood done because one of the next day was rain.

Hey Wendy, that is one of the reasons we came here 👍
Odin saying 'Bravo" is too cute

mini Filip transferring woods was cute,
I know there is a never ending amount of work on a large property, but you must look out and be so happy with all that you have done! 😊
Great progress

Thanks for watching!

The ride on mower wouldnt like it very much, but we should have taken the dumper but we didnt think about it.
I suggested getting the same thing for the mover. Better to also cut and split next to your pallets for stacking.
I think if you mention the day at the start of a new day. It would be pretty awesome....
ohh, en Odin een echt jongenskapsel. Was weer gezellig filmpje. Bedankt en tot volgende week

We have pancakes like that in the Uk, served with sugar and lemon juice, 👍

I've always thought of tools as n investment and always feel good about buying them.
Haha i always feel good when owning and caring for tools 🤗
I love your videos guys
Nicely done with the wood stacking. They all looked very neat and tidy.
Thx Peter, it is satisfying to stack them properly 🤗

Magnifique vidéo !
I can't wait until you have time to clear all the brambles out so you can see all of your land.
More cleaning up is coming in the future!
I love pancakes as well. Yours look a bit like crepes. Yummy
Thank you 😋

In South Africa & Namibia, we mix cinnamon and sugar, which we sprinkle generously on the pancake before rolling it up and eating frOM one end. YUM!

Thank for this video and "des gros poutous" to Odin.

“Do you want to put this small stuff in the barn?”
“Yes, but let’s bag it up here, so I can carry it. Using the wheelbarrow is too easy.”
Here in France we call the pannenkoeken "crêpes"
And we love the crêpes 😅

What is left to complete the dam to capture your water from the rains? I am looking forward to seeing the completion of all that dirt moved to build your damn wall.
Hey David, to do the “Mare” we need bigger machinery and better weather so hopefully 2025 spring or summer.
I did not know about using wildflowers to take up the heavy metals and plastic contamination. Where did you learn that?
Hello, the process is called phytoremediation and it has been used on bigger scale as well. You can do it onsite instead of transporting the soil etc.
@@DomaineSauvage That's amazing! Thanks for the tipp!
🎉
Hello Roos!
were you using air blower at the end?
For cleaning out the robot yes.
Philippe, are you planning on putting french drains in/around the parking area?
Yes, but now it is a bit too wet so it will have to wait.
Lifting the robots, please keep your back straight and lift with your legs.
Encore cookie, please
❤💐❤
🤗
Haaiiiii
Why don’t you cover the sides of the wood? Won’t it get all wet when the sides are exposed?
No, you want the ends exposed so that the interior of the wood dries out (“seasons”). The exposure to the ends is relatively minimal unless your rain is blown sideways by the wind.
As Andrew pointed out it is so it can still air and dry.
I have subscribed to your channel for quite a while now, but always wondered why your video always have so pale colors?
We film in clog so we have to “color grade” the images ourself. It depends on the style you want afterwards.
-IeInjoy yow+ur video
Thx Andre!
why are You keeping Your wood piles outside?
Because the barns need renovating so we need them empty.

if you are going to buy a chainsaw i would also have checked out jonsered have had the saw for 25 years used in the forest every winter live in Norway❤
I have bought one from Stihl since my little Stihl is like 12 years old and still runs like new and the dealer is close to us.
Why can’t you guys use heater ! Waste so much wood and cutting trees ! You guys should consider using electric heater
I’d say generally too expensive to run even with the power panels to supplement the cost.
Dumb question. Wood regrows, can cost very little and doesn’t need electricity generation plants and transmission systems. Have you ever even left your crowded city and been to the countryside?
Hey, in the future we will have different means of heating but this for now is the only affordable and easy way to do it.
Yes, the solar panels would not cover it at all and the place is not insulated so we would not even be able to get it warm with electric heaters.
It is one of the most used means of heating here and when done correctly not a big cost for nature.
