According to Genesis 2:7: The spirit is the spirit of life also called the breath of life which goes back to God at death. The spirit is not us, but enables us to live.
A soul is a living person, the complete person. You and I are souls. There is no soul inside or apart of us. We are souls.
Body of dirt+ plus spirit of life=living soul, conscious, aware person. Genesis 2:7
Death=body-minus spirit of life= dead, unconscious, unaware person.
For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Ecclesiastes 9:5. Hope in Jesus resurrecting the righteous unto eternal life. 1 Thessalonians 4:16,17

when you try to justify trinity you will lose. Trinity never exist in the Bible. Never. When God said "let us" do we have a clear name who is that "US"? No. Do we have a clear introduction that God said "Hey this is the spirit, this is the son, come meet them. No. So please stop that lies. God Bless
