This pedal reminds me of my old Boss DM3, which didn't get dark until about the 4th or 5th repeat. I actually really like it bright, personally. Slapback sounds better that way IMO. The Ibanez AD80 I have is the best slapback pedal I've ever heard and it is really bright on that initial repeat before quickly getting dark. There is probably a mod if you wanted to darken the repeats. A new chip would probably be all you gotta do. But there could also be a mini pot underneath to adjust it. I'd be really interested in seeing the schematic. I think the modulation and digital side is great on this pedal. Having that Capistan style oscillation on the fly is also great, especially because it actually sounds natural, unlike the Boss DD pedals that have that "warp" feature which sounds ridiculous. Ibanez has a great pedal here. I thought the es2 was also really good, but it was so unreliable.
