Your performance of this Allemande is meditative, telling the Christian story with reverence and humility. The atmosphere created is of wonder, you play for your life to communicate your feelings about this stunning place, built in the 11th century. Your playing of the Menuet is vibrant and passionate, a song of praise, fluent and vivid. You show many closeups of the frescoes, as you did in Part 1. It is a beautiful fresco cycle, painted in the early 14th century by an unknown painter. You sit before the Reliquary, which contains relics of the Saints Abbondio, Consul and Eusperanzio. I'm very happy to see this Basilica, thank you for showing it to me, so I can understand something of its beauty and history; and thank you for your beautiful and heartfelt performance, which is your tribute to it. Bravo!!!!
This is wonderful Alberto, a stunning performance. You bring a deep seriousness and majesty to the music of Weiss, which I love. You seem to celebrate the very existence of this grand Basilica with this Allemande and Menuet. The sound is rich and complex with a great sense of occasion. The Allemande is full of sorrow and pathos, as are the superb images you show. You play the Menuet with lovely fluency and grace. There is a sense of urgency in both the Allemande and the Menuet, and I am struck by your sheer originality in playing these pieces, conceived I assume for a small space, in such a vast space. The sound is very beautiful and grand, the scale and emotional reach of the music as vast as the Basilica, and as vast as the sky above it. It is exhilarating and very moving to listen to. Thank you for everything in this video Alberto, it is wonderful. Bravo!!!!!
