For everyone wondering about the story behind this. In the late 1980’s, the Swedish Railways were testing various solutions to improve level crossing visibility from greater distance. One of these included American-style lights mounted above the crossbucks. Some other solutions tested were regular Swedish lights above crossbuck and the blue-white portals seen at some crossings. This link is to a crossing featuring both of these other solutions: m.ruclips.net/video/6Nn6am1Cndk/видео.html
Great video and crossing! Love the 70s Safetran 12x20s there, neat to see some in use over there in Europe! The Southern Railway and Seaboard Coast Line Railroad over here in the US used them in my area, mostly on the overheads of the cantilevers.
They where put up as a test in the early 1990s to raise the target value of the crossing when activated. This is the only crossing in Sweden that ever got this weird setup. Another crossing in Bårslöv not far away has another cantilever whit a one of a kind LED lights.
Yeah, we came to Sweden sometime in the late 80’s. The Swedish Railways were doing some tests to improve grade grossing visibility from greater distance back then, and one of these included US-style lights like us. So we’ve been sitting here since then doin’ railroad crossing light business just like our Swedish workmates

@@siemenstraffic There is actually another one with USA lights on Storhedsvägen in Luleå
@@Hissen3000 It's on Bodenvägen. Thank you for the tip
Very nice!👍

12 Safetran lights what are you doing here?
