That's amazing and wonderful you have the first item you ever made. Love your apron and you did a terrific job. I don't remember my first item but I've been sewing many many decades since I was very young. I made most of my roller skating outfits. My Mom and my Nana sewed. In Junior High Home EC class I could already sew, but my teacher, Miss Simpson, would never acknowledge that I could sew. Thanks for all your wonderful helpful tips.
I HAD to take sewing in school. I was awful at it. Ended up cutting a hole in the material with a seam ripper! Fixed it somehow and wore it ( a sand colored jumper) to Arizona on a trip at 16.
