  • Kenya has seen unprecedented sustained protest by largely youths since Tuesday 18th June. The protests which have been largely peaceful suddenly turned violent on Tuesday 25th fuelled largely by the way police responded and the push from the legislative arm especially Ruto's allies voting 196-105 to take the bill through the third reading. The ball is now in Ruto's court to either sign or otherwise.
    Unfortunately, the story of Kneya is no different from most African nations, the political class assign bogus salaries and allowances to themselves, many are financially extravagant, corruption is rife and most nations are consumer based. These factors only compounds the financial situation .
    Ruto's dilemma now is how to save Kenya financially, with its over 60% debt to GDP ratio and the deep reluctance by foreign lenders to offer Kenya loans, there is need to save. However, when African nations face economic challenges, those struggling are the ones who suffer, the primitively greedy and largely corrupt politicians never begin from themselves, How will things pan out?
