@@theyruinedyoutubeagain Totally agree. He is playing great tennis, but you can just see him get gassed in the really close tough matches. You have no chance to close it out if your energy falls off that quickly in demanding third set matches. He is right there though and obviously he knows that’s a big thing he has to work on. I’m rooting for him big time. I love his style of play.
It’s tough to go through the losses in public. You’re the man Karue. Your genuineness and humbleness doesn’t go unnoticed and I’m sure other fans are excited about your journey because of your character. Keep it big dog
I'm the guy in white in the bleachers. It was awesome watching tennis at this level. You could tell you were getting a little gassed at the end, and he really found himself at the end of the second set. Overall, it was great playing to end the season, and excited for next season for you!
That super long point that Karue wins at 40all deuce at 5-3 in the first set illustrates a lot of the steady improvements Karue has made to his game this season. Very rarely does he hit a groundstroke short of the service line, makes high percentage decisions to keep the ball in play when necessary and solid court coverage to get up to the drop shot in time to do something with it. Hope he rests the body and brings this form into 2025.
I must say, getting to hear a pro talk about what he's experiencing in those pressure moments is truly underrated. The point about playing the kind of tennis that 'suits your personality' seems obvious at the face. However being at the club level, I often get in my head and start letting my shots fly, which only worsens things. Great video, as always! Thanks and enjoy the holidays 🙏🏽
Karue, I really appreciate you sharing some of thoughts regarding as you begin the processing your season, put into context to this match which you played well but didn’t necessarily have the outcome you wanted, and how you take away from it to build capacity in the offseason. There is no other voice out there like yours. Your story is truly a blessing for us mere mortals looking to improve. Take care and happy holidays.
The great value about your videos Karue, is the way you watch your losses. Most of the "youtube players" skip this step. For now, it seems to be honest and very constructive. You are playing very strong talented players and in the most cases when I see the MD you can easely can reach the SF. Keep going in that way,you aren't to far to reach de grand slam. Dont give up!
Karue has the perfect serve technique to do an underarm serve every once in a while lol 3:22 "old man still got the wheels" lmao these commentators, man...
I think one of the reason you were able to improve your ranking so much this year is that your play style is so unique so the opponents are not used to that kind of ballstriking
Best of luck next year Karue push for the top 200 we believe in you. Set yourself with some good goals. Might include play RG, Wimby and US qualies or play in an atp event. Wish you the best of luck hope to see you winning alot of challengers and futures next year. Let's hope you can make the grand slam qualies and push for the top 200. Keep it up K. You can already see what you're doing and what is needed...and that's not to say that you're not doing amazing as it is. Loved the video. Thanks for posting and spending the time to do so. Looking forward to next year. You deserve a much needed vacation and rest. Cheers, M
@Karu, your backhand down the line is very well disguised. Congrats for a stellar year and looking forward to seeing you in the US Open qualifying rounds.
Really keen to understand what has happened, because a lot of people were following your path towards the AO. I'm personally convinced you have the level, and if not the AO, then maybe the French? Whatever happens, I really hope you get the chance to play a GS Karue. Please keep us all updated!!! Good luck!
I'd say there's a really good chance for RG and/or Wimbledon. Basically until start of August, he was playing mostly Futures, and having to qualify for smaller challengers, so just tons of matches/mileage on the body (46 matches, 33-13 record) for not tons of payoff (by my count, 86 of his ranking points come from 10 events played over 7 months pre-August, with 25 from a title at Cornell in January, so we're talking 61 points from 9 events). They definitely make you earn it just for the privilege of getting to compete in an event where you have a free hotel room. By August, he was full-time Challenger tour and mostly avoiding qualifying, we're talking less matches (29, with a 21-8 record) and more payoff points-wise per match (124 points). So, lots of upside between January and August next year - every match he plays next year will be worth way more points, and he was realistically a couple bad bounces off from the extra 1-2 wins he'd have needed to hit Aussie Open qualifying. So, really excited for next year, and hating that I've got no tennis tour to watch for the next 5 weeks.
@@NiallCooney Thank you so much Niall. That's the kind of strategic insight I love to see. Because thats the kind of thing that players and their team can use to maximize goals. I’ve always loved your BH but I’m loving how much power you generate on the FH with that open stance. So nice 👍🏻🎾 EDIT: The BH winner at 1-5 in the point that starts at 21:42 I watched at least 20 times. BOOM‼️
Hey there Karue you are amazing and you inspire a lot with your videos.Honestly do you think that after learning the basics of the sport you need a coach and follow the "standards" of the sport or you think someone should follow what feels "right"?
I have observed your game for a long time. I have come to a conclusion that your game style is exactly like Marcus Giron, right from the serve to the point finish.
I was planning to drive six hours to Knoxville to see you play the quarters on Friday. Thursday afternoon, I checked the score against Spizzirri and saw you had won the first set easily, so I confidently reserved a hotel room and set out on my way. Surprise! Very disappointed not to be able to see you play, but some of my other favorite players were there (Nishesh, Learner, James Trotter), and it was great to watch high level tennis up close in a small arena. Looking forward to seeing you play some other time soon!
Very demanding match. It is a shame that you didn't make it to AO Open next year but I will wait for you in 2026. Please take the time to improve your physical and what an amazing tennis you have show us this year thanks.
I now it would have been weary but at the level you played against Elliot (who beat Fonseca at the USOpen qualy) you would have a great shot to win it all the Challenger 75 in São Paulo. Final is Tirante vs Comesana and although Comesana is a great player, you would def have a chance against him.
Good match, Can you do a episode on off season. How do you manage to keep the game level ? I feel like I don't play for a week and my game is slipping. With the rainy season upon us we could use some help
I saw 10-20 opportunities where you were stretching your opponent wide (mostly backhand) when you could have easily charged to the net. And could have made 15 out of 20 points without spending much effort. Go after your backhand crosscourt if your opponent can only slice back that shot! Maybe there are some silly loses you earn but mostly it will be regarded in 75 to 25 % wins of the point. And it keeps things short - less exhausting.
Just checked the results for this tournament and you would have played Eubanks in the next round (who won the whole thing by beating Learner Tien in the final). That would have been great promo for the channel. Coincidentally, Eubanks lost to Govind in the next tournament in Champaign.
Pretty physical match, but a very strong show!!! I’m not a professional like you, but I do understand when you get older, you have to out think opponents.
I’d like to know how you avoid muscle tightness in your back and forearm while playing so much tennis in a year? You look amazing in this match, rest up man
That BH cross is money, you clearly put him on D but I feel you were a bit passive and didn't recognize the damage in time and didn't take advantage of it. Mixed with the solid BH down the line... it should be a pretty good pattern for you.
Oh man, great match... don't think Spizzirri is close to his fitness "prime", he is probably still trying to work his way towards ATP levels of fitness. Question is if he will go far enough to achieve, or have to achieve, the levels of fitness you will need at the Slams.
Why the a/c wasnt on is because there is no a/c at those courts. They have 3 fans and only like 1 actually works and doesn't do much. It's fine in the winter usually but it's pretty miserable when it's hot.
How are you gonna prepare for the AO? This match had the humidity and the heat, I can’t even imagine how the conditions can be in the AO. I mean, 5 set matches in that heat - phew…
@@JacObi-Wan-KenObi Yes but due to visa problems he couldn't travel to mexico for a challenger, so he decided to stop his season. Check his post... To be in the AO qualy's you need to be in the top230 and even that is not always a guarantee..
Any chance you could make "deep dive" tennis videos where you go over a match and explain, why you hit the ball where, what did you expect to happen vs what ended up happening, your exact thoughts through the match etc?
Probably not. You are looking for something that doesn’t really exist. You want more depth than there actually is in a match. All of it is mostly instinct from years of playing. The mofe you think about it the worst it gets. Just try to hit the highest quality shot you can hit in each shot, even if it means just hitting down the middle. Too much “in depth” analysis out there that just complicates shit
Like Monfis, you really depend on your retrieving ability and playing within yourself. It will get you into the top 200, but is that where you want to be? If your psychology will take it, you need to risk more to get better.
@@curiousgeorge6921 I was in the crowd and saw him play twice. Monday was using it also. Few others as well. Lots of blade 98s, vcore, and a few radicals. Nishesh was the only prestige I saw.

I think with a good deal of rest and preparation for the next season he can make that push for the top 100, it’s not a question of if, just when
Yep. Keep it up Karue 💪
He honestly just needs to fix his physical/stamina, sorta like Rune and Draper (tho probably Rune could also use a new brain tbh)
No shade at Karue, but this is true of most Challenger regulars imo. The difference between the top 100 and 100+ is mostly in the consistency
