It’s sounds like she moved on before the relationship ended, been there, you’re emotionally done before it ends and after you don’t miss them, you just feel peace and wish them well just not in your life. You’re grateful for the experiences and lessons they taught you, you made your peace and moved on. The thing is you feel so guilty bc everyone talks about being upset and broken by ending a relationship and you’re just okay.

I just ended the relationship, and to be honest, there's no way it wouldn't be a painless thing. But from this song I realized that sometimes letting go is the only best choice to continue living and growing to become a better person, maybe that is one of God's plans so that you won't be hurt any further. This song hides a million tears and a heart that is broken into pieces. And in end of this emotional turmoil everything has become numb and the worst part is that you don't know what you are feeling anymore. Every sensation is dulled. Maybe It's the stage just before acceptance.

I don't know why this line really resonates with me. Maybe because I have someone who I've loved for a long time and just imagining us breaking up broke my heart but when it finally happened, when our love came to end, I wasn't hurt at all. I was surprised. Like idk why does it feel easy for me to just let go? I feel really heart broken for couple months, do some hypnotherapy, but it couldnt even help the emptiness. Shit go shout real fast. It’s incredible how we can do so much with somebody and they can still become strangers. I was due to marry my fiancée in august this year (a day before our daughters 2nd birthday). Unfortunately in December just gone she “lost the spark” and wanted to be on her own so now we’re no longer together. We only speak when we exchange our daughter but we’re both total strangers now. Sad as it is, it’s life. We had the highs of having a child together, getting engaged and planning a wedding. Now it’s a highlight when we say more than 3 words to each other when I pick up my daughter

I feel like this song has a somewhat deeper meaning. I felt like it was a pretty chill song until I kept hearing her say that she wished it did hurt her.
When times are good, they’re good, and it’s okay to appreciate and miss those moments. But they lived together for three years and like she says, she learned patience and I’m sure the hard times were HARD. Listening to this, I feel like she’s saying she’s already been through it. She wishes she could still feel sad and hurt but she just doesn’t anymore. Like a lot of people say, women often check out of relationships before they’re even over. So it’s almost an even sadder song than it first presents. She wishes she can go through the stages of heartbreak but she has most likely already been through it during the relationship.

My ex kept taking me for granted and emotionally& verbally (rarely also physically) abused me. Would also body shame me (despite my BMI being normal. I’m not even fat).
He would show up to our dates more than 3 hours late. Despite being a VERY Busy person, I was always the one who would try to set dates since he wont even bother. Gave him my best effort for 7 years and he knows that. I just got tired. He broke up with me because “I was too busy and didnt have time for him” and I said ok. He didn’t expect me to agree. He begged me to come back but I didn’t want to anymore. I guess the point just came when I got burnt out and felt nothing anymore...
I had always imagined we’d break up, and I’d cry relentlessly. But I didn’t feel sad at all.
I still feel thankful to have known him. I don’t hate him. I in fact still love him, but not in a romantic way. I have seen his good qualities, and I believe he could mature into a better man. I hope he takes this time to better himself so he can treat his future girl better. And when he has done his share of growing, I hope he finds a good gf who’d love him better than I ever have.

The first time i heard this song, i was in a relationship; happy, in love, contented and full of trust. I couldn't relate and i dont want to. I haven't experienced what being broken feels like. Guess what shit happens, my 5 year relationship just ended. It's the worst feeling ever. Went back to this song it somewhat helps. Soon enough, I'll be able to feel nothing and be over with it.
