While David was a man after God’s heart, God the Father testified of Jesus as the Son in whom He is well pleased. David is an epitome of lasting royalty. Jesus is an eternal King. David was a man who understood God’s mercies. Jesus came that we might enjoy the fullness of God’s mercies. When Bartimaeus called Jesus the Son of David, he was trying to establish a connection. Jesus is the link we need to God and eternal glory. Jesus has opened the door of grace and mercy; we need to access it.
