I always hang a clothesline close to my shelter for airing out things or just hanging stuff from to keep it off the ground. I use the exact same kind of para cord. It’s nice because it’s bright so no one runs into it and gets clotheslined, and in the dark the reflective quality we’re here with a flashlight will definitely let you know where your area is. Great video as always Neil. Keep up the good work across the pond.

I've used those "bike lights" for the same thing. I volunteer for search and rescue with Civil Air Patrol and you can use them to keep track of team members in the dark. The strobe is also good to signal our search aircraft.

Exzellent tipps! Till now I was only using reflecting lines and in special cases a light. Keep up with your tipps and Stay Save.

Strangely Pete, finding my way back to my basha in the dark, one or two beverages and YOU...may have helped spawn the idea for this..

I’ve had one of those Pilot lights for years, first got it when my headlamp didn’t have a red mode. Also been using a bike light as a camp maker while out on the lake fishing. Those small glow sticks are expensive here for what you get, but I’ve found really cheap ones at Party Store. A few bucks for a bag of 25.

I've used the longer glowsticks for a long time. They come with silicone tubing so you can hang them on branches, ridge lines etc. When i used to be a carp angler I'd hang them on the rod butts at night if I was in a dark enough spot the rods are hard to see when you're half asleep..

having specific items in hi-vis has always been a bit of a GRRR !!! thing for me with some manufacurers or more usually retailers example Survival Matches (wind and waterproof) being supplied in black or dark green no bright option, LMF Army ferro rod, yes they make an Orange handled version, but, a lot of retailers charge two to two and a half times their price forthe black ones 😨 I mean you deffo want to be able to find your fire gear (look at Joe Robinet on Alone)

Neil. Didn't catch the brand name of that headlamp with red flashing option.

It was no particular brand, you can buy them in a lot of different stores for not a lot of money (poundland etc) and they all seem to work in a similar way.

@@greencraft4783 I've had a Petzyl for about 20 years, it still works. They were pricey back in the day. Locally there's one store that sells only the newest higher priced items for the super lightweight, fashionable hikers and mountain climbers. I'll look around. Happy Solstice and the rest of the Holidays.
