    Nice, subscribed.
    Im planing to purchase an RTK Drone like Phantom 4 for basic topography. Your videos is being really valuable to learn the Metashape.
    Thermal drones is more for inspections or it has applicability on topography as well? The price difference is huge.

      Glad you find the videos useful. The P4 RTK is a great drone! The Mavic 2 Pro is still one of the workhorses of our drone fleet.
      Thermal is good for anything where temperature information is useful - infrastructure inspection, search and rescue, agriculture, water quality, etc. You'll get an elevation surface from thermal images, but given that TIR images are so much lower resolution than even cheap RGB cameras, they're not a great choice for most topographic applications. For use, we're only flying TIR imagery when we need it for a specific project. Hope this helps!

      Thanks for the question. Do you need the individual photos converted to temperature, or an overall orthomosaic? How you set the temperature from the TIR images will depend on what sensor you have. For many TIR sensors like the FLIR Boson sensor in the Autel Evo II Duo 640T, the pixel values are in degrees Kelvin times 100. For others like the old DJI XT2 sensor, the pixel values are in degrees Kelvin times 25. Once you find the right equation for converting the pixel values to temperature, then you can use a raster calculator in a GIS program like QGIS, or do with the raster transform in Metashape.
      Note, though, that the temperature values can be off by quite a bit. It's not uncommon for us to see temperature differences of 5 degrees C. So, in practice, it would be good to take some temperature measurements of known objects (that can be seen in the imagery) and use those values to better fine tune your TIR temp estimates.
