My wife and I on that beautiful road in 1969 washing nappies in the river!! That little baby turned 56 on 8Nov. Fond memories . . . Thanks for a glimpse before 1652 🤣🤣🤣
Thank you. I often drove that road--I was relieving in Mossel Bay in 1969 and 1970 and my fiancé was living in Port Elizabeth. I travelled that road every weekend; there and back. Great memories. I sooo wish they would at least maintain the road. And for the calculating heads out there ... yes, I am eighty-ish.
@@onemanrunning yes you can. The road is passable narrow in places where rocks have fallen. The road exits back onto the N2 about midway between Bloukrans and Stormsriver.
We used to travel that road so many times between Uitenhage and George in the 1970's. We always saw the baboons down by the river bridge. Wonder if they are still there ? So sad to see the deterioration of the road on the Eastern Cape side.
Thanks for sharing. I definitely saw signs of baboon in the area around the bridge. So I’m sure those troops have continued to live on there. It’s very untouched down there so not much human activity going on.
@@Seegsoutdoor Thanks. Nice to know that the baboons are still there. That was a dangerous road just up from the bridge. We used to see a few car wrecks from vehicles that went over the side.
Da road vs Anc road. Da province vs Anc province. 😢
We drove that road - one of the prettiest passes in the country!
@@johnrennie3561 thanks for the comments. Great to hear people that have travelled it and also look for the little back roads to explore.

@@peetschabort1080 thank you 🙏 and the fond memories. I remember travelling that route with my folks back in the 80s. Stopping to explore each river
Awesome - thanks for sharing. Amazing how it’s the same country yet the peeps can’t work together…. 😮
Right?!
Some peeps work, and the other just want to be together
You should read Stephan Mitford's The History of Central Banking. Thanks for the vid.

Going to drive that road to PE next year 😅
Definitely worth the detour 👍
I see you are referred to as 'Seegs', my surname is 'Seegers' and I am called same. How does yours come about?
@@ernieseegers4747 😂👍👌. My first name is Segal and Seegs was a nickname that started with some uncles and aunts which then rolled over to friends.
