- “Grief” is the reflection of what I lived. And I’m pretty sure many people can relate to the same mood and critical stages that the loss of a relative or beloved one imprints in us.
In my case, this was suddenly. No one is prepared to assume a loss of a sibling in such a way as a car crash.
I will never forget the first moment my couple received the news and dared to preserve the calm and take care of me until we went to my mom’s house, where I finally realized what had happened. I need to explain this because it is essential to fully understand this song. These first string notes relate those moments of uncertainty yet intuiting that something terrible is happening until the moment you fully understand it. Still, you deny it, and the anger and pain domain your life for a long, long time...
This song talks about the three first stages of grief: those days, weeks, and months battling with denial, anger, and bargaining.
I want to make a special mention to Merethe Soltvedt, for the love and respect she put on every single note with her beautiful voice.
And to Manuel del Fresno and all the Choir for such a wonderful and poetic way to transmit my feelings through their talents. ❤️

“Onyria" is my third studio album. But also a poem of love to my little sister Irene, the most wonderful person I've ever known, that left this world in 2018 just a few months after the release of "Immortalys."
It is also a personal chronicle of these last four years and my journey over those times. With its lights and shadows, highs and lows, going from her loss, throughout grief, to the acceptance and final resilience state, I've tried to render this homage as beautifully and poetically as I could.
Into “Onyria”, you'll find almost two hours of new music recorded with a large orchestra, a children's and an adult choir, and some of the most exquisite and well-known voices in the epic field, It also features a cast of extraordinary musicians, and I heartily hope you enjoy it and it makes you dream again...

Ivan, I’ve listened to so many of your songs, but this one felt very special and real, and I had no idea this devastating story was behind it. It feels late to say this, but I am incredibly sorry for your loss.
This song was likely one of the most emotionally touching songs I ever heard. The moment the cello tune entered was like a breath of magic, and every note was alive. It is just incredible that you took the grief from your loss and turned it into something so beautiful. That’s real art.

It looks like Onyria is a word spelled roughly backwards from Irene's name. Great music.

Noticing this video on my notifications feed and reading its title-*in particular mentioning that a description was added*-I immediately read the entire description with sadness to learn about your loss. I've proceeded to listen to it, doing nothing but staring at the screen, and there's no doubt a lot of pain is being held behind it. Same as every other piece you made, it gets better and better each time. I waited for so long for new albums but now it's understandable why it took time. You're one of my favorite music composers, and "Grief" easily became one of my new favorite tracks as well, and I'm happy that you keep doing what you know best, despite the awful reality. Your music is not just art, it's inspiring and wholesome.

My brother died because of brain cancer in 2017 at the age of 42. I miss him every day. This song resonate with me in a very special way. All the best to you and your family, Ivan.

I've lost my mother to breast cancer in 2016 and my dad past away not even three years later. After I lost mom, I spent every night drinking two bottles of wine and ended up getting alcohol poisoning later in the process. I guess the main reason why I'm upset is because I've put them both through a lot growing up as a kid and ive watched them both die on their death bed. I'm still just trying to forgive myself. Ivan, my heart goes out to you and your family. No one should have to lose a loved one like this.

This song just hit me cause last year in November 23, my dad passed away at home from a cardiac arrest and I found my dad in the bathroom slumped over and not responding. My heart just broke into two once I heard the paramedics saying that there is nothing we can do and my dad was gone, those words still resonate in my head and that vision I seen with him being slumped over will never go away for me.
I was my dads caregiver cause I live at home with my parents and to actually lose one of your loved ones, especially your dad and to see him in the living room and lying there, I can’t even put it into words. When I heard this song, it really spoke to on what I’m going through and how grief does go in stages and I don’t think it will ever get any easier 💔😭

“Duelo” es el reflejo de lo que viví. Y estoy bastante seguro de que muchas personas pueden relacionarse con el mismo estado de ánimo y las etapas críticas que nos imprime la pérdida de un familiar o un ser querido.
En mi caso, esto fue de repente. Nadie está preparado para asumir la pérdida de un hermano en un accidente automovilístico.
Nunca olvidaré el primer momento en que mi pareja recibió la noticia y se atrevió a mantener la calma y cuidarme hasta que fuimos a la casa de mi mamá, donde finalmente me di cuenta de lo que había sucedido. Necesito explicar esto porque es esencial para entender completamente esta canción. Estas primeras notas de cuerda relatan esos momentos de incertidumbre pero intuyendo que algo terrible está pasando hasta el momento en que lo comprendes por completo. Aun así, lo niegas, y la ira y el dolor dominan tu vida durante mucho, mucho tiempo...
Esta canción habla de las tres primeras etapas del duelo: esos días, semanas y meses que luchan contra la negación, la ira y la negociación.
Quiero hacer una mención especial a Merethe Soltvedt, por el cariño y respeto que puso en cada nota con su hermosa voz.

¡¡Ha...mi hermano, mi amigo...mi alma gemela en este trágica composición!!!. Lo mismo me pasó, en tan solo 6 horas dejé de tener a mi hermano menor de tan solo 23 años. 5 fallecieron en un doble accidente vial. Y qué me dije, cuando carqué de sus asas el cajón de él, cuando toqué su piel helada, como jamás volví a sentir ese gélido frío...único por cierto, cuando lo ayudé a llevar por casi 50 mts desde el altar de la iglesia donde le dieon la extremaunción: "Vive cada día como el último de tu vida...Sebastián", eso me lo he repetido desde ese momento, pero lo peor fue tener que ser el mensajero de esa terrible e inesperada noticia, mi madre se descompuso, mi hermana embarazada...se desmayó, mi padre que desde siempre trabajamos en el campo, se enteró por la radio de la camioneta...y eran las 14:00 hrs de ese día único e irrepetible...y me largué a llorar como nunca lo he hecho. Dejá pasar el tiempo..."él" te ayudará y mi frase que siempre le digo a personas que atraviesan situaciones como la mía o la tuya: "¡¡¡Bienvenido a la Vida Iván!!!".(la Muerte nunca, nunca avisa...pero te hace valorar desde ese momento cada segundo de tu vida).
