Gee.. It's unfortunate that you feel that way... You guys are entitled to your own opinions, but with all due respect, your fault finding won't really get you anywhere. It's sad to see such bitterness. The drama is fine if you adjust your perspective, you see it from a critical and crooked angle, missing the "mark". I prefer to look at it as a means for learning. I'm not here to quarrel, just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. Well, have a good one.

Oh, also - in the scene between "Luke" & "Austin", "Luke's" reaction to the news he's also being laid off, is "What am I going to do?"
Instead of jumping on a job search immediately...
"Luke" wrings his hands & bewails his situation, rather than being pro-active in finding a solution.
This is a good example of the 'infantilization' of its members that the Watchtower engages in, showing by these examples on stage the Watchtower-projected 'proper' response is to sit there helplessly (apparently waiting for Jeehoover to 'save them') rather than being adult & active in resolving the problem.

Of course he started looking for a job. But while he looked he continued putting his ministry first. He did eventually find a job that allowed him to continue his ministry. Putting Jehovah first will always work out But only another JW would know that Jehovah will take care of us if we rely on him. The loan was money that his friend didn't need to live on. It was a sacrifice he and his wife was willing to make.

@@gingerdrass The Governing Body are living in expensive surroundings in their new Warwick headquarters, with pricey granite facings used even on the loading docks out back. On the other hand, look at what Pew Religious Survey says about what little income the average American Jehovah's Witness has to get by on, at this link. While you're there, also look at the extreme imbalance in their gender composition: www.pewforum.org/religious-landscape-study/religious-tradition/jehovahs-witness/
Almost half of American Jehovah's Witnesses make less than $30,000 per year. If there are 4 people in that household making only $30,000 per year, they're below the USA poverty level. The imbalance of 65% women to 35% men is totally weird, too. I really wonder why a religion claiming to be the "true" religion can't attract an even number of men and women, especially since the Jehovah's Witnesses don't allow women to "take the lead" in any congregational tasks - except for cleaning the kingdom hall and its toilets.

So, the happy slappy ending is that "Luke" gets a new job thru "Austin"? Funny, I would have had more respect for "Luke" had he gotten off of his smug, self-righteous ass & gone out & gotten HIS OWN job.
Oh, and everyone pioneers - Awwwwww!
So, where's all the MONEY going to come from? Talk about out-of-touch with reality.

Hah! "Austin" @ 12:12 complains about not having a job - but the Watchtower slyly slithers past the apparent fact that "Austin" has no college degree...

Wow, there are a lot of 'gems' in this drama. "Austin" calls his JW work buddy "Luke" & tells him that he 'wants to focus a little more on his family'. @ 22:08 or thereabouts.
Ah, yeah. Because not immediately seeking new employment with which to FEED his family, is somehow 'focusing on his family'.
That's the Watchtower mentality, right there. Out-of-contact with reality to a pathological degree...
Then there's "Luke's" wife. @ 20:15 & at & 22:51 or thereabouts, she's actually COUNSELING her idiot husband, only doing so in a careful. "I-respect-your-headship-even-when-you're-an-idiot" manner. And of course, she apparently DOESN'T have a job, herself... Oh, and isn't she just so "Mrs. Cleaver" with her cutesy little apron!

Boy, do you have it all wrong. Her career is her ministry. Obviously Luke's job was enough to support them. And Luke would immediately start looking for a job that wouldn't compromise his faith. But sometimes it take time. And it's obvious they were careful with their money and had enough savings to get this through this until he got another job.

@@gingerdrass Ask the Jehovah's Witnesses in your kingdom hall how much money they have saved up. How much money do you have saved up? Do you have at least 3 months' worth of expenses saved for? FYI, after leaving the Jehovah's Witnesses, I have around 5 years' worth of expenses covered with my savings - because I got a good, full-time job with benefits and plunked money away in the employer's 401K plan. Then there's the money that I'm going to get for decades of full-time work, through Social Security. People who don't work full-time don't have much (if any) monies paid into Social Security, and they'll have to continue working until they die.

@@WWZenaDo I'm not saying any more except everyone of jW's support themselves and families. We don't expect anyone to support us. We retire with SS and some JW are rich but most are just regular people with regular jobs. I'm done. If you really want to know anything go to jw.org.

By shunning them? Even if they might be in trouble and calling for help? Like in this Watchtower Society video?

And WHY is this girl being cruelly shunned? Because she looked outside the Jehovah's Witnesses' tightly closed group for a boyfriend. Remember that terribly imbalanced gender ratio? 35% men to 65% women? The Watchtower Society can't attract MEN, so they punish the Jehovah's Witness women for trying to find decent husbands OUTSIDE of the Jehovah's Witness movement. The Watchtower Society even ADMITTED it didn't have enough men for Jehovah's Witnesses to marry "only in the Lord" in this *Watchtower* article!!
      From: www.jw.org/en/library/magazines/w20150315/marry-only-in-lord-realistic/
Page 30, to start with: "Those who make such comments may feel that there is an imbalance in the number of eligible brothers and sisters. In many countries, that is indeed the case. Consider two examples: In Korea, on average, out of 100 single Witnesses, 57 are sisters and 43 are brothers. Colombia reports that 66 percent of the Witnesses are sisters and 34 percent are brothers."
So eligible Jehovah's Witness marriage mates are in *short supply not only in America* , but in many other places of the world as well! Yet the Watchtower Society in that video I just linked showed the girl's mother totally SHUNNING her for trying to find a loving mate OUTSIDE of an organization that has almost TWO women to every man. But once again, WHY can't "The Truth" attract MEN? Answer me that.
