I found your channel a couple days ago and I’ve been watching your videos non stop. They have inspired me and I’ve been drawing and painting like I haven’t done in years. Thank you so much. I love your art.
Welcome to Sandi’s World!! She is amazing at being inspiring, and her videos are a lot of fun. Whenever I need a reminder to get off my ‘hiney’ and start painting, I put one of her videos. Works like a charm every single time. 💙💙
Just want to make sure you know how wonderful your content is and I appreciate not only your art but all the work behind the scenes I know you put in. Thank you!
Thank you for taking us along, Sandi. I love seeing you in action! The coffee shop painting is so fun and enjoyable to watch you working on it. I was loving it and was afraid it wasn’t coming back. 😥 The final painting is great! I like how you walk us through the composition of your paintings now when you’re finished.
It was so relaxing going with you on a small town adventure, Sandi. Thank you for bringing us along. As for the ginger, if you haven't thrown it out already (😂), it's great chopped up in scones, cookies, and quick breads. It's also good chopped up and added to sautéed green beans. And, best of all, you can put a couple big pieces in a mug and cover with hot water for a ginger tea that will help sooth your voice back!
I LOOOOVE your home stdio and your beautiful property .... but it is SO MUCH FUN to travel with you as well. All the work you did on this video is just delightful. Thank you for another great video. May i suggest that you consider a class on buildings; things like houses, churches, storefronts, barns, etc. I would buy it in a heartbeat. I would love to be shown how to simplify the painting by choosing the things to leave out and the things to include. You are an amazing artist. I've enjoyed you for years.
❤❤❤Your new easel!!!!! It’s amazing!!! the sound it made as you readjusted the easels position, you should’ve heard me. “Nooo waaaaayyy!” I didn’t know higher level easels could make really great sounds. I know it’s crazy but that’s always such a big deal for me with my tools and equipment. What an amazing resource you have gotten for your self. Do you love it? Is it just the best? I hope it’s giving you all the vibes. And it looks bigger which is good because you’ve gotten to where you’re painting. Much bigger now. Loved seeing it. ❤❤❤
We are driving through Wales and I’ve been doing drawings loosely based on what I’ve been seeing in the landscape, joining them all together. Sort of the way you have described. Such fun! ❤
Oh my gosh, Sandi! You were in Matthew ‘s! Brakeman’s is one of our favorite coffee shops. We live 30 minutes away.💕 Grateful that you made this video for us and showed us your sketches. Xoxo, From a fellow Tennessee gal.🤗
Always enjoy going on your trips with you. Love watching you work in your sketchbooks. Good idea with the dog bowls, never thought about that. McDonald's cups are my go to. Just throw them away when they get too nasty
I bet you could sell a book of nothing but coffee shop sketches. Or a set of notecards. Or maybe a series of Christmas coffee shop sketches for a set of Christmas cards.
I don’t know how you manage your matérials outside but I’m impressed. I don’t have any art studio, so I made myself a box with my crayons and gouache, so I can draw and paint in the living room (inspired by urban sketcher) but I still feel discouraged to dispose my materials on the table and then put everything back in place. So it’s really inspiring to see you are not afraid or bored to place your materials and sort that out each time.
Sandi I am loving your videos. I'm finally starting to reverse my tight painting. I got a large sketchbook and have been painting like I did as a child. Just want you to know that you make difference with every project you undertake. Hope your trip to Italy is fabulous, I know it will be
so glad you changed your mind about the coffee shop painting and decided you *did* like it! it's absolutely wonderful. to my eye, it looks like a timeless classic. :)
Sarah Burns Studio... This weeks episode ... about swatching with a purpose ...or as she said color notes. Sharing helpful ideas and different surroundings. We all learn from each other. Then there's Imperfect Painting. He is extremely talented... and focuses on the substrates... talks while he paints... less screen time on himself. Always enjoy seeing you film studio setup scences... and of course watching the development stages of ur creating..😊Ann
Sandy, such a great video and your positive attitude even in the midst of physical suffering is truly inspiring. I know Jesus is your strength. Love and prayers for your healing on this Divine Mercy Sunday, from your Catholic sister in Christ ❤
Your coffee shop sketches and paintings, both inside and outside are fabulous, such vibrant colour and great composition🧡 I love that you take us along for the ride, although i've tried sketching in our car before and i just felt car sick😂 Its so much fun watching you create, you are a great teacher, thank you🙏🏼❤️
Loved the sketches! I love how loose you paint. I always have a problem with tightening up even though I try not to. I always try to keep your videos in mind when I paint!! It’s always a work in progress but I love painting!! Thanks so much for sharing your experiences!!🤗
Every time you show yourself painting in the car, just blows my mind!! How do you manage not to make a mess? And do you not get carsick? I struggle if I simply have to read something quick, can’t imagine actually sketching. Also, thank you so much for all your videos, they really are very inspiring. I’m learning so much about being an artist thanks to you. God bless you!!💙💙💙💙💙💙
Thank you for taking us along on your trip! I enjoy seeing how you put the world around you down on the page. I find it inspiring. You also help remind me that it's okay to make stuff up even when outside doing observational painting or drawing. I love that bowl the bananas are in, in that last painting.
Not surprised that Siri was unhelpful….she’s had attitude of late….today I said “hey, Siri” and she responded with “huh?”. Thanks for another fun vlog Sandi💕
Sandi, I so enjoyed today. I look forward to your videos, and you never disappoint. I love the Brakeman’s paintings. Also, one of my granddaughters lives in NC, and I felt like I could just picture her in that little town. Now I think I want to visit NC. Thanks again for making my Friday joyous.
I love your video! I really enjoyed the coffee shop paintings. I identify with your little shopping story about Grady. My husband just wants to get in and get out. So funny. I love it when I get a chance to really shop and browse. Thank you again for sharing.
I love the Neocolor 1s too. I wish I could get the open stock. I also love Greek food and crystallized ginger. It's delicious with dark chocolate and hazelnuts. What a sweet little town this is. So much fun for you to visit and sketch. Thanks for taking us along!
Siri places near me…”Grand Canyon” “Grand Tetons”. Thanks ever so much SIRI!!!😂😂 Actually laughed out loud. loved your coffee shop work and the church! So nice, Sandi!
I have just stumbled on your channel and loved your videos. Such a fun and happy person. I’ve subscribed. I’m a fellow artist and I like watching other artists creating their work and sharing it online. I’ll be watching all previous videos and look forward to new ones. All the best.
Sandi I really love the paintings and drawings you made. They are all so beautiful and I love all the colours too. Thank you for sharing your wonderful journey with us. Lovely as always!
Oh your coffee shop paintings are just the bests! I love them sooo much! It so makes me want to go to my local ones even though I don’t drink coffee and I’d be shy to have anyone notice me painting them. lol
Thank you Sandi for bringing us along on your sketching trips! My week wouldn't be the same without a Sandi vlog post ❤ I loved all of your sketches and paintings but my absolute favourites were Brakemans and the beautiful buildings ❤ that church caught my eye (unusual architecture ❤) I pray you have recovered from your health issues 💚 ❤hoping you feel better today. I share Grady's love of dark chocolate, the higher the cocoa solids the better 😋 yummy 😉🍫
These last three videos have been so awesome, Sandi! Your best yet! Can you please tell me what kind of easel you now have? I usually have painted on a wall rather than an easel, but I’ve been liking having an easel more recently, for when I want to work at home. Your new one looks so nice and sturdy! Also I laughed when you said you always swatch and never use your swatches. Same here! Hahaha
Wheeeeee! Thanks for taking us along. Your videos are a constant inspiration! My favorite thing is the little yellow teapot in the last painting. I took a road trip to Cincinnati last weekend and wish I'd taken more photographs for reference. I was helping a friend move and did all the driving, so unfortunately I couldn't whip out my phone as much as I would've liked. Definitely didn't have a moment to sketch, but maybe next time when I visit and things are more chill.
I need to find a way to send you an email. You have changed my life!!! Art is officially my saving grace to my past and it has been such a blessing. And your video over working bc with the different colors and the trick of using the black and white filter on your phone is amazing!!! Thank you so so much!!!
Hi Sandi! Great post. I hope you will send a print of your coffee shop painting to the coffeeshop! I'lll bet they would hang it there! Years from now they will place a plaque that says "Sandi Hester painted here." ❤
What a great video, Sandi! I just love your sketches and watching your process as you paint from them. I have watched you go over and over your supplies to whittle them down to a minimum for plein air /traveling... I have been trying to do that, too. I am aware that i make it harder on myself than it needs to be 🤪 I spend way too much time trying to make choices, but this is my year to do it!! I will / can do this (hopefully) 😂🤞 Take care!
Great video, Sandi. I really love the painting(s) you did of the Brakemans Cafe - so full of interest, uplifting palette and cohesive design of the space. I feel that cafes are you forte at this point in time. Get well and enjoy springtime painting.
thanks for sharing your trip with us! Sorry about your allergy issues. This season has been hell for me also and according to my doc it has been also for a ton of his patients. Lets hope the next months are better. Keep up the great work. xo
Another lovely video! I adore getting to come along on your trips! I am itching to go paint in public now, it's been a little bit 😊 thank you again Sandi, I hope your allergies and all get better soon. Nerve issues stink. Take it easy ❤ Side question, would you ever consider sharing about your process for selling and mailing your original artwork? I've been researching for myself but would really value hearing your thoughts. But if that's a boring video for you, by no means make it, I just love seeing you make what you enjoy! Thank you!
Did you know Fabriano is an Italian paper brand? I predict a good haul when you're going to Italy. Will you show us something from that trip? I'm so happy for you that you're going and so excited to see what you think of it.
I am happy how loose I am in my sketchbook now but as soon as I try to repaint the same painting again on a canvas etc, I have the same problem it gets too tight. I'm sure it's psychological.
Awe I wish I knew you were coming , even though I live 2.5 hours away from Matthew’s NC I would have loved to meet up and sketch with you Sandi. If ever you’re near the Raleigh area lmk.. 🎉
I found your channel a couple days ago and I’ve been watching your videos non stop. They have inspired me and I’ve been drawing and painting like I haven’t done in years. Thank you so much. I love your art.
Ohhhh I love that!!! ❤️🤗
This is a warning to you, Sandi is addictive haha 😊
I can understand your watching nonstop. I watch my favorite videos of Sandy over and over again!

It is my bedtime, but who can go to bed when Sandi just dropped a video?
😂 ❤️❤️❤️
I can’t tell you how much I enjoy these little trips through your eyes 💛 Makes me so happy!!

Great idea!
Binge-watching the past few days! I'm inspired, and enrolled in a university drawing course beginning in January!
That coffee shop painting is so awesome and really special! What a cute town you were in!

I LOVE your church watercolor/ neocolor painting!!!! Just now getting caught up on your videos. I’m really enjoying your videos and your art.
Dark chocolate, YUM!...the best to eat and it's good for you too ❤...add in some candied ginger to that's dessert 🍨 😅
I knew right away where you were visiting. Your paintings are beautiful and you captured the vibe.

Sandi your cafe sketch was so fun to look at. So many colors and objects. You have really paired down on supplies compared to earlier videos!! 👍🏻😊
Grady doesn’t agree that I’ve paired down 😂. I need to have him rewatch the Florida trip 😂
I love the little glimpses of you painting. I miss that from your older videos!
I always forget to look at the swatch sheet when I'm painting outside too! 😂
😂😂😂
The cafe picture is so goooood! You make me want to paint, but it's also intimidating!
I love love the coffee shop painting❣️❣️❣️❣️

So enjoyable. I love how you see the world. It’s inspired me to look at things differently and hopefully to begin painting differently
These last three videos have been so awesome, Sandi! Your best yet!

You are right; it was a quaint little town. Loved your inspirations, sketches and paintings.
Thank you so much!

Thanks for coming
I need to find a way to send you an email. You have changed my life!!! Art is officially my saving grace to my past and it has been such a blessing. He liked the chocolate
Great video, Sandi. I really love the painting(s) you did of the Brakemans Cafe - so full of interest, uplifting palette and cohesive design of the space. I feel that cafes are you forte at this point in time. Get well and enjoy springtime painting.
Oh thank you!
Loving what you’ve been doing. The Brakeman’s painting should be hanging in their shop!
Ohhhh yes - I should see if they’d like it!
thanks for sharing your trip with us! Sorry about your allergy issues. This season has been hell for me also and according to my doc it has been also for a ton of his patients. Lets hope the next months are better. Keep up the great work. xo
I lived in Fayetteville NC 20 yrs ago. The dogwood trees blooming is gorgeous, so are the fall leaves.
🤗🤗🤗
For me iT is also bedtime 😬. But first looking to the video. Thank you dear Sandi it makes me so happy 🤗
Another lovely video! I adore getting to come along on your trips! I am itching to go paint in public now, it's been a little bit 😊 thank you again Sandi, I hope your allergies and all get better soon. Nerve issues stink. Take it easy ❤
Side question, would you ever consider sharing about your process for selling and mailing your original artwork? I've been researching for myself but would really value hearing your thoughts. But if that's a boring video for you, by no means make it, I just love seeing you make what you enjoy! Thank you!
That’s a good idea for a video!
Did you know Fabriano is an Italian paper brand? I predict a good haul when you're going to Italy. Will you show us something from that trip? I'm so happy for you that you're going and so excited to see what you think of it.
Yes, Grady’s going too so he will be filming some of it.
🎉 Sooo fun Sandi! Thank-you! ❤

So enjoyed you adventures and how your colours seemed to change to a holiday mode
Thank you!
Ohhhhhhhh 🤗
