@@neilwaters7543 Plenty to be proud of our peaceful egalitarian multicultural society. We have too much American and British influence and have to keep up pressure against the American neoliberalism/privatisation creeping in.
This song stirs in me the kind of pride I have for my country. I hope one day to see the glory of a flag for the free Republic of Australia flying high and proud from our Parliament House.
You know, when I went through law school, both intro to law and constitutional law classes taught me shit that I was SHOCKED we aren't taught in school that made me realise just how much of a useful idiot pro republicans are. We're kept ignorant for a reason though. There's a reason too you'll have to spit in the face of all your ancestors for that to happen, another banana republic is the last thing we need. The representation we're given in a Constitutional Monarchy is less prone to the pure corruption of mega corps and big buck campaigning. If this country becomes a republic it will fall within a decade, or become a tax haven like the Cayman's while the people see no benefit but rapid growing corruption.

Hey John did you go to eudunda about 20 years ago for Collin thieles birthday? An Aussie singer came to my class and helped us write a song for a play we performed for him. I was only a young bloke im pretty sure it was you.
Every time I hear this song I think back to the early 1960's and the fight to abandon the red ensign for a true Canadian flag. John Diefenbaker (leader of the opposition) all but shook his jowls off at our disloyalty to queen and empire. Fortunately Pearson prevailed and in 1965 we got a flag of our own!
