Good video Dan, will definitely try that on the range next week before it club championships. Our fairways are getting quite a bit of run and usually a windy course. This shot could be quite handy when it gets above 20mph.

Great video, Dan. I am going to try that out on the range. Certainly can be useful over the next few months

Hi D.H., I'm an expert at the stinger shot. Usually happens on the first tee when i top it and it scuttles 80 odd yards down the fairway.

Hi Dan, brilliant video. If only Sky would do something like this during breaks in play instead of them just sticking Paul McGinley on a chair talking bollocks!

ALL of my drives tend to look like stingers!! 🤣 I've probably been teeing it too low.

Really interesting. Will like to try this. For me it all depends on hazards in front of tee. Or in some 180+ yards par 3's.

Great video. Understand playing the conditions but I’m interested to know if you think the stinger is likely to find more fairways (is it more accurate?) if all else is equal in the swing?

Very interesting. Tee height made sense but ball position and stance make perfect sense but I wouldn’t have thought it

So basically you are using a steeper swing more like a long iron swing to keep the ball down. Seems like a good idea if there is an abundence of run and obviously in the states the ground is hard this time of year

The stinger driver has been a staple shot in my bag for about 5 years.. it’s one of the reasons I chose the Ping G430 (and previously G410) as I can keep the spin up enough to hit it whereas with the callaway, Taylormade and Titleist the ball falls out of the sky to quickly… 🙈🙈👍👍

To be honest Dan I play them sort of shots without meaning too lol😊.
I do think you have to be a pretty good driver of the ball in the first place, but it is fun trying it and but doing that it can get you to understand more about how you should be hitting the ball.
Also try it with irons too

Re. Videos I’d like to see. Short sided, ball in a thick collar next to the green, ball sitting down. I either chunk it, or hit it 30feet past the hole. Can you help?
