- when i got the braun atelier system tuner, tape and turntable where in working order, only the amplifier was severe kaputt!
the original potentiometer is not available anymore, but there is a replacement. here is me working on my first big repairjob since my hifiguy quit!
the volumeknob is an ALPS produced for the german busniess hifi-zeile.de
price is pretty hefty with €45 - but there is no alternativ!
they description of the potentiometer:
"Der Regelbereich unseres neuen ALPS Reglers weicht von der Original Kennlinie ab. Für die gleiche
Lautstärke ist eine andere Reglerstellung vonnöten.
Es gibt beim A2 verschiedene Versionen der
original Potis, daher kann es vorkommen das Sie
die Beine des Ersatz-Potis verlängern müssen um
es auf der Platine anzulöten."
Wahnsinn das Design
Schöne Arbeit.Habe auch eine Komplette Braun Atelier Anlage mit dem A1 Verstärker und bin auch total begeistert.Wie lautet die Typenbezeichnung von dem Poti,bei mir ist zwar alles OK, aber man kann ja nie wissen.Ach ja schönes Video !!!!
Nice work! If you kept the Braun Atelier A1 integrated amp, did you ever have to fix the speaker relays for a right or left channel failure?

Any advice on cleaning the heads on the CC1: Isopropyl alcohol, cotton swabs and make sure not to use accesive amounts that may drip?
Gute Arbeit. Der Braun ist schon ein tolles Gerät! Auf die Dauer würde ich aber versuchen das defekte Board zu ersetzen.
Great Job! Habe mal nen Outputboard vom Yamaha ca 810 vom DIN auf Chinch umgelötet, das sah ähnlich aus wie das Poti... Würds auch nicht wieder machen :D Danke fürs Posten!

I'm working on an A1 for a friend, did the input selector switch look like it could be replaced as easily?
thanks for the positive feedback! it has been to long, i really can‘t remember: that‘s why i started taking pictures as i open things up - saved me a couple of times! ;)

Wie gingen die Record und Input Regler runter? Bei meinem A2 sitzen die komplett fest. Danke für das interessante Video :-)
gerne & danek für deine frage:
die drehschalter sind gesteckt & sollten sich einfach runter ziehen lassen? ggf. mit einer plastikspachtel vorsichtig "raushebeln"!

Hallo Tobias! Wie hast du in Deutschland eine Atelieranlage mit englischer Beschriftung gefunden? Stammte die von einem GI?
hi thomas, die anlage ist aus deutschem erstbesitz & ich konnte online keinen hinweis auf eine weitere version des verstärlers finden, als der meine. woher kommt deine annahme?
Wohnst du in Deutschland? Ich hätte für Reparaturen eine günstigere Adresse als Worpswede.

Your Kenwood must be unrestored or broken for it to lose to the Braun...
both amps are unrestored!
...both are from the same time, each one represents a different hifi-era though:
the kenwood is still designed like the amps from the seventies with lot‘s of polished metal & blingbling
the braun started the sleeker design & also the black front which where typical for the coming generations of amps.
eventhough the kenwood „lost“ to the braun, it is not a bad amplifier. it just sounds different, and that sound just wasn‘t for me...
Braun is leagues above Kenwood, even for mixers!
Never ever put a turntable on an amplifier
...the braun was design to be stacked!
if you are worried about heat: the amp drives two bookshelfspeakers at non moderate volumelevels: no need to worry!
Never ever comment if you don't know the braun atelier series was designed to be stacked.
There are instructions in the manual how the components have to be arranged to work perfectly together. Believe me - Braun engineers worked years to make it perfect.
