- Racing my LS swapped 96 Impala vs a Scatpack Challenger at Cecil on 10/13/23. This is the same pass as my 10.666 video, just focusing the insta 360 on the challenger for this video.
Challenger looked stock. 12.7@114 with a .328 RT to my 10.6@132 with a .227 RT

Racing on some worn Toyo TQ's, soft launch with a 1.7 60 foot.
Short shifted 1-2 at 5600 since we messed with that shift point a bit a few weeks ago for a runway event with terrible traction . 2-3 at 6500…it was still making power at 7k on the dyno but I don't trust the LS3 springs that come with the B15 at those RPMs. Definitely leaving some on the table with the 50% throttle launch on street tires and the real short 1-2 shift.

It’s funny because my intention wasn’t to be a sleeper, I just wanted the car to sound and look the way it did back when I used to daily drive it with bolt ons in 03-05 just out of nostalgia…so I kept the baby ls7 cam in there for a steady idle and stretched the stock wheels to 12” so it looks stock unless you see it from the back and realize it’s a 345. It turned out to be a pretty good sleeper though lol.
Im leaving like 50whp on the table with the cam, but the street manners are better than any new car I’ve driven. Driving it in stop and go traffic is actually fun and long highway cruises are amazing.

I can see stroking that lt to a 383 would do it but just a cam and heads would be hard to believe.

Those Impala’s are just something else. They do not make cars like they used to.
Keep in mind, that Impala is over 25 years old …. and that Dodge is most likely 1-5 years old …. I love 95-96 impala’s
They are such awesome cars. I’ve driven everything, CTSV’s , 5th/6th gen Camaros, vettes…nothing feels as nice cruising down the highway as a 90’s b body with the right suspension setup and some power. Perfect balance of comfort and performance. Best compliment I’ve gotten was “it’s like a real fast couch that can somehow still take a corner hard” from a guy who tunes CTSV/Camaros and Vettes for a living 😂
My Dream Car for Sure 95-96 Impala …. I have a beautiful 2000 Impala …. Not the same with only a V-6

94 is the yr u want.. factory forged piston rods and arp bolts… hold all the boost u throw at it

What's your suspension set up is?
Speedtech coil overs, Speedtech upper and lower A arms and front sway bar, Currie adjustable/extended lower rear trailing arms and I welded up my own adjustable upper trailing arms with an offset clevis so it meets the bushing square when extending them, Dick Miller Racing triangulation bars, Speedtech chassis mounted rear sway bar. I also boxed the C channel, notched the rear chassis for the wider wheels and boxed the lower trailing arm pockets. It's set up for handling/pro touring, not drag racing but I think it would still leave pretty good on a real tire. The Toyo is like barely a drag radial, it works great for a really street friendly tire but it's nothing like an M/T ET-R or Hoosier DOT (or a slick), so I come off the line part throttle pretty gently so I don't break loose.
