This is a true story of my experience. I have been believing in Islam since the past 7 years. I came from a Sikh background. I started discovering about Islam after having repeated dreams about someone attacking me and I would just keep saying Allah Hu Akbar in a dream. I used to wake up and wonder what is Allah Hu Akbar? I didn't bother about the dream after a couple of days.. weeks went by.. months went by.. then I had another dream where again someone was attacking me and wanted to come in forcefully to my home but I was saying something else. I was saying La illaha il Allah..I was saying it very loudly and with full conviction in the dream. When I woke up, I was shocked as I have never heard this words before. I straight went to my computer and started typing whatever I could remember. When I typed La illaha.. the whole word came out and I clicked on it. I was so shocked when I saw the meaning There is No God but Allah. I didn't knew anything about Islam, The Quran..nothing at all. I looked very troubled and my brother started noticing a change in me. He asked me one morning what's going on? And I told him all about these dreams. And I just stood there with complete shock after what my brother told me. His first expression was What?? You too have these dreams? I have been having these dreams for the past years but I didn't tell anyone as no one would understand. I just started tearing as I didn't knew what was happening to us. My brother then researched more about Islam and converted. I didnt converted yet. But the first thing I did was to stop associating partners with Allah. Whenever I would go to a Gurdwara, I won't bow down. My relatives started asking me why. And I would just simply answer I would only bow to God and not to any book. Years passed... I didn't knew anything much about Islam except to believe in one God. It was a strange relationship with Allah that had no doubts. One day, my brother encouraged me to read the Quran and when I started reading the first page, I started tearing. It was as though Allah is speaking directly to me. I felt more and more connected to Allah. I then started attending Islamic classes to know more about Islam. Last year around November, I was sleeping in my room and suddenly I felt like I couldn't move. That same feeling when u get pressed. It wasn't a dream, I was aware of my surroundings but I just couldn't react. Suddenly, I saw someone entering my room. It was walking towards me. And it stopped at the side of my bed. I immediately said Prophet Muhammad SAW? I remembered clearly his face was so radiant and full of light. His lips was so rosy and he kept smiling. He then kept his hands on my head. I then went into a deep sleep. The next morning I woke up puzzled and shared the dream with my brother. He said by my description, it could be the Prophet SAW. I then decided to finally take a decision to revert. And last year on Dec 26, I reverted back to Islam. I still have a long way to go. I am praying around 3-4 times per day and am trying to get in a habit of praying 5 times. Sometimes, when I look back, I wonder how strange certain things are. When I share this with my close Muslim friends, they find it strange too..

One of the most misunderstood areas in Islam is that of the position of women in the religion. The general perception in the West is that Muslim women are subjugated and almost seen as property. While not all Muslims deal with women as inferior, this is unfortunately true in some segments of the Muslim world and this treatment is supposedly justified by the religion. However, when we look at the basis of the religion, the Quran, we see a very different picture. In the Quran God makes it very clear that men and women are equal.
[3:195] Their Lord responded to them: "I never fail to reward any worker among you for any work you do, be you male or female - you are equal to one another. Thus, those who immigrate, and get evicted from their homes, and are persecuted because of Me, and fight and get killed, I will surely remit their sins and admit them into gardens with flowing streams." Such is the reward from GOD. GOD possesses the ultimate reward.
[4:124] As for those who lead a righteous life, male or female, while believing, they enter Paradise; without the slightest injustice.
      Guaranteed Happiness Now and Forever
[16:97] Anyone who works righteousness, male or female, while believing, we will surely grant them a happy life in this world, and we will surely pay them their full recompense (on the Day of Judgment) for their righteous works.
      Equality of Men and Women
[33:35] The submitting men, the submitting women, the believing men, the believing women, the obedient men, the obedient women, the truthful men, the truthful women, the steadfast men, the steadfast women, the reverent men, the reverent women, the charitable men, the charitable women, the fasting men, the fasting women, the chaste men, the chaste women, and the men who commemorate GOD frequently, and the commemorating women; GOD has prepared for them forgiveness and a great recompense.
[40:40] Whoever commits a sin is requited for just that, and whoever works righteousness - male or female - while believing, these will enter Paradise wherein they receive provisions without any limits.
The Only Criterion For Distinguishing Among The People
[49:13] O people, we created you from the same male and female, and rendered you distinct peoples and tribes, that you may recognize one another. The best among you in the sight of GOD is the most righteous. GOD is Omniscient, Cognizant.
How is it that such clear verses can be ignored? Why are women treated so poorly in some Muslim communities? The answer lies in the fact that those communities take other sources besides the Quran as the basis of their religion. There are many Hadith that denigrate women. Also the pre-Islamic cultures of much of the Muslim world did not value women and had little use for them. The following verses demonstrate this fact:
When one of them gets a baby girl, his face becomes darkened with overwhelming grief. Ashamed, he hides from the people, because of the bad news given to him. He even ponders: should he keep the baby grudgingly, or bury her in the dust. Miserable indeed is their judgment.(16:58-59)
When one of them is given news (of a daughter) as they claimed for the Most Gracious, his face is darkened with misery and anger! (They say,) "What is good about an offspring that is brought up to be beautiful, and cannot help in war?" (43:17-18)
Such attitudes can still be seen among some Muslims. Contrast this with the attitude and practice of the prophet Muhammad himself as demonstrated by his willingness to debate with a woman about her husband:
GOD has heard the woman who debated with you about her husband, and complained to GOD. GOD heard everything the two of you discussed. GOD is Hearer, Seer. (58:1)
One does not debate with someone who is inferior, you simply tell him or her what to do. Muhammad also spoke with his wives as equals, though they were not always worthy of his trust:
The prophet had trusted some of his wives with a certain statement, then one of them spread it, and GOD let him know about it. He then informed his wife of part of the issue, and disregarded part. She asked him, "Who informed you of this?" He said, "I was informed by the Omniscient, Most Cognizant." (66:3)
It is clear from these verses that Muhammad dealt with women equitably, in spite of the culture that surrounded him. Thus, in his own life he demonstrated the equality of men and women just as he preached it from the Quran.
As culture affects the way women are perceived and treated in Muslim communities, it affects things in the Western world. It is significant that in the Bible God is referred to with the masculine pronoun and called Father. No wonder that in the West God is thought of as being masculine. This is not the case in the Quran, however. God is without gender in the Quran. Why should God have a gender when all He needs do is say “Be” and it is?
In Appendix Four of his translation Quran: The Final Testament, Dr. Rashad Khalifa indicates that perhaps one of the reasons God chose to reveal the Quran in Arabic is the very fact that “he” and “she” do not necessarily imply natural gender. This is similar to the use of pronouns in Spanish. Thus, though the masculine pronoun may be used to refer to the sun in Spanish as el sol, that in no way makes the sun a male. This same principle is true in Arabic.
And there is another more dramatic example of how the Quran demonstrates women’s equality in contrast to Biblical tradition. In the Quran it is clear that Adam and Eve are equally guilty for listening to Satan. The fall of mankind from the Garden of Eden is not blamed on Eve. This is shown more than once in the Quran (2:34-36, 7:19-22, 7:27). Here is just one example:
The devil whispered to them, in order to reveal their bodies, which were invisible to them. He said, "Your Lord did not forbid you from this tree, except to prevent you from becoming angels, and from attaining eternal existence." He swore to them, "I am giving you good advice." He thus duped them with lies. As soon as they tasted the tree, their bodies became visible to them, and they tried to cover themselves with the leaves of Paradise. Their Lord called upon them: "Did I not enjoin you from that tree, and warn you that the devil is your most ardent enemy?" (7:20-22)
Throughout these verses, God refers to both Adam and Eve as being tempted by and giving in to Satan. Thus we see that God makes it clear that men and women are equal. He directly tells us in verses, He shows us in examples from the Quran of His prophet, and He counteracts the cultural bias of language and tradition. For those who read the Quran there is no excuse-men and women are equal.

      @@JahannamHellfire Well about ur comment.
Its not like they learned a lot about islam and for some reason never learned about respecting women.
Its more of an case of not applying islam in general to their personality.
lot of people think having an iman is beliefing in ur heart.
but iman is also like acting as muslim.
and some other stuff like loving the prophet Mohammed V.A.S.
not even like loving them more than ur parents and urself otherwise no onw has iman in general
(we talk about the minimum you need to say that you have iman!)
If only loving prophet Mohammed V.A.S. more than parents and urself is minimum for iman almost no one would have iman then!
Ofc we should love prophet Mohammed V.A.S more as our father and mother and ourselfs.
we should build to that point that is our duty.
But yea about the point of talking about being as a muslim
Allah talked about in Surah al Baqarah
      2:8
Some people say 'We believe in god and the last day', when really they do not belief.
      2:9
They seek deceive God and the believers but they only decieve themselfs, though they do not realize.
      2:10
There disease in their hearts, to wich god has added more: agonizing torment awaits them for their persistent lying.
      2:11
When it is said to them , 'Do not cause corruption in the land', they say 'we are only putting things right'
so yea people who you talk about that use there wife as like a thing and dont gife any right doesnt count as muslim
but IM not really qualified to say that so dont that last one from me.
about you saying that ummah in west treaths women bad thats also a thing in like Arabia not only west actually everywhere for sure.
@dont be a secret wife!!! I know u for long and I dont wanna go further about this negative stuff.
since I know ur stuck with this for long.

Subhanallah, saytan always tell us to not blaming ourself for our sin like it is normal and we dont have to sorry. saytan make us defend our sin and feel like it is not our fault. because of that, we feel ourself is perfect, our ibadah dont have any flaws and also with deeds. it is all perfect. hence we dont follow the guidance from Allah, we dont istigfar. even when we istigfar that is not from our heart. when you reveal your sin to human you will get humuliated but if you reveal that to Allah, say istigfar to Allah, Allah will makes you dignifyed.

In September 2017, Khan was accused of inappropriate online interactions with numerous women, as reported in an article in The National newspaper.[7] These accusations were repeated in international newspapers;[8][9][10] Khan responded that the leaked text conversations were "between consenting adults" and that the women were marriage prospects, noting that he had been divorced for two years.[8] In December 2017, BuzzFeed News published an article on what it called Khan's "spiritual abuse" activities, claiming that he unsuccessfully had lawyers ask four fellow clerics to not release a joint statement referring to ".[11][12] An article in The Atlantic noted some backlash against women who had accused Khan of misconduct.[13]
In October 2017, a committee composed of various Islamic scholars and community leaders, including those who have held leadership positions in the Islamic Society of North America, counselors and mental health professionals, released a statement after conducting their own investigation into the matter. Among the panel were Aisha Al-Adawiya, Salma Abugideiri, Tamara Gray, Altaf Husain, Mohamed Magid and Ingrid Mattson. The committee stated, "It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that Br. Nouman has committed significant violations of trust, spiritual abuse and unethical behavior." The committee recommended that Khan “face the consequences of his actions, and ... take a break from public life in order to get counselling and engage in acts of expiation.”[14]
