@@Vicfreezer Trance used to mostly sound similar to techno until it gained its own distinct flavor, techno has generally gotten harder again recently and trance has gotten more 'modern', that is to say it generally focuses on the build ups to big drops for those festival type crowd pleasers. Someone like Charlotte de Witte is bringing trance back its roots.
But yeah, for a while techno was picking up a trance-y vobe to it.
