Also, when talking about Persephone and Atlas, if Atlas destroys the pillar, it will destroy everything. This includes the underworld, which means his daughter would cease to exist period.
I’ve seen this video, and it doesn’t quite get the finale right with Athena. She wanted to control the power of Hope, and was angry when Kratos released it to all of humanity. She shouts, “They will not know what to do with it!” then leaving Kratos to die. She was manipulating Kratos as much as any of them. Though, the games never say what happened to Aphrodite. The ashes of his wife and daughter being fastened to his skin got added to the story sort of by accident. Early in development, they hadn't settled on a character design for Kratos. One of the concept artists having a few notes from the game's director, decided to take lunch but bring some pens with him if he got an idea. As he was eating, he did in fact get an idea for Kratos' design, but he then realized he had forgotten paper. The only thing he could draw a rough sketch on was a white napkin at the table he was eating at. He showed the director the rough sketch who loved the design and the pale white skin look, so it was kept. They then had to add a reason to the story for Kratos to have that ash white skin. It also came with the added bonus that it helped Kratos stand out on camera even if the shot pulled back to show off the scale of larger enemies or backgrounds.
A little sad fact: Throughout God of War: Chains of Olympus, Kratos is haunted by a song that his daughter used to play on her flute. The flute was Calliope's favorite thing and was actually hand carved by Kratos himself. It shows you how much Kratos just loved her and how hard it was for him to start being soft and open with another child of his (Atreus)
To cover the Aphrodite/Hephaestus marriage depending on lore source; -- His parentage is Zeus and Hera, and when he was born his appearance was such that he horrified (one of/both of) his parents who proceeded to throw him (quite literally) off of Olympus. He knew his parentage from an early age and swore vengance-- made himself the greatest craftsman ever with the intent of being invited back to Olympus. He made a special throne for Hera, it was a trap that chained her to the throne. Hephaestus refused to release Hera unless he was given something in compensation, so Zeus married Aphrodite to Hephaestus so that Hera would be released.

The box Pandora got from Zeus (and was told to never open) consisted of all the worlds plagues, diseases and misfortunes. Her curiosity made her open it. When she realised her mistake she hastily tried to close the box, but everything in it had already escaped, except one thing....hope. Also look up the story of how Pandora is created.
The video you've chosen is a good one, definitely more detailed than some others that have been watched for this reason, though it really commits strongly and strictly to the chronological order of events which I'm sure contributed to how much gets thrown at you at once in places. You did just binge the entire plot of a PS2 mainline trilogy along with _multiple_ spin-offs and honestly hats off to you for keeping up with it as well as you did! To clarify one small thing, in the situation with Persephone, Kratos staying with his daughter would have meant the end of everything - the Underworld, Elysium and her. He left his daughter in the afterlife and sacrificed his chance to be with her a little while longer so that she could _have_ an afterlife. And to share a little of my personal take, my friends and I have noted there was a bit of a direction shift with GOW3, what with Kratos somewhat uncharacteristically destroying the world and all, in doing so going from tragic and deeply flawed anti-hero to practically being the real villain of the story. It's not a big deal but I thought I'd let you know there was some discourse over Kratos as a character back then, with some fans not so much wondering if he would come back as much as hoping that he wouldn't. I myself honestly wasn't a fan of Kratos during this era and kind of loathed him. This was the crowd Santa Monica set out to win back with God of War PS4. So it says a lot that I now consider him one of my favourite gaming protagonists and I'm excited to see you discover why now that you have all of this context.
As far as I remember it, hephaestus was born ugly, in response to which, Hera threw him down mount olympus for being a disappointment to her "perfect family".
37:41 BS. Athena specifically told Kratos to surrender the power to *her*. At which point Kratos figured out that Athena intended to be the sole deity with said power, presiding and ruling over all that remained after Olympus had fallen. So Kratos *didn't*. My theory: Athena was infected with evil of greed, even in her "higher existence" form.
True. Considering that Athena had been gutsy enough, just like Kratos was, even in life before her death and rebirth in Astral form, that she had managed to resist the corruption of Greed within her, so that when she did receive a portion of the Power of Hope that Kratos had given to Humanity, she might have felt some peace for what Kratos did so that they would rebuild Greece without the aid of Olympus.
Looking at him now, Young Zeus looks like Mr. Clean with hair. Tbh GOW as a whole is just a love letter to manhood and fatherhood. Makes more sense when you finish up to the new DLC
Also, the video doesnt explain it but Kratos's mom knew his father was Zeus but she couldnt tell him because she was put under a curse by Zeus to keep it a secret and never tell anyone. When she ALMOST reveals it to Kratos, the curse activates and transforms her to a monster, forcing Kratos to slay his own mother
When Kratos went into Athena's temple, he killed a few men who charged him or were just trying to get past him to escape first. This caused a lot of dust to fly into the air, the temple was also just starting to burn so smoke was also starting to fill the room. The last two people in the temple were his wife and daughter, the dust and smoke in the air caused him to not be able to see them clearly, just their silhouettes. After he killed them, the dust cleared enough for him to discover it was his wife and daughter.
The Hecatonchires were giant offspring of the Titans like the Cyclopes (plural for "Cyclops", per my old English/ Literature teacher). Instead one 1 eye like a Cyclops, though, they had multiple arms ("Hecatonchires" roughly translates to "Hundred-Handed Ones").
I always thought Athens wanted the power of hope to become a monotheistic god, like in Christianity. Kratos giving Hope to the world would let them survive without the need of gods
You may have noticed at the end, but when Kratos first opened Pandora's Box, it released the evils to the gods, which is why they became so evil, they were already pricks obviously, but they became supervillains because of it: Zeus - Fear Poseidon & Hades - Wrath/Hatread(Hades was more directed in his anger whereas Poseidon lashed out in it) Hermes - Pride Helios - Deceit Hera - Sloth Heracles - Envy(he was super jealous of Kratos due to perceived preferential treatment by Zeus) Aphrodite - Lust(she was already pretty lustful, but she started to abuse her handmaidens nonconsensually) Hephaestus - Misery Athena - Avarice(she wanted to become the only god, there is actually a theory that even before the box she has wanted that, letting Kratos live, telling him that "the gods" have decided that they will not take away his nightmares despite the fact that SHE made the decision, resurrecting the Hydra after Heracles killed it so that Poseidon will give Kratos magic to help defeat it, and then later sacrificing herself for Zeus, possibly knowing that she will ascend into a higher plane of existence(being green))
I just wanted to say that the two of you are hilarious. I love your humor, and both of you have excellent comedic timing. I greatly enjoy your summaries of Greek lore.
@@cait_and_kati I loved Greek Mythology too. I was an expert, maybe a tad bit but still, an ardent student of that subject too. My uncle was impressed by that talent.
This video is kind of hit or miss, but it got to the major beats. A bit of clarification here and there: The war between the Primordials that created the Greek world also created the elements and concepts that govern daily life. In Greece, these concepts must be actively controlled by gods such as the Titans or Olympians, otherwise they will spiral out of control. Minor gods won't have as much effect, but a major god's death will cause catastrophe. When Ares died, his corpse released a nuclear explosion and his control over the concept of "war" had to be given to someone new. This is why Kratos needed to take the throne. Poseidon's death, of course, flooded all of Greece. Hades' death set the souls of the Underworld free to terrorize all of the surviving mortals. When Kratos killed Helios (though the two had saved each other in the past) he blocked out the sun, causing a plague of cold and famine. Hermes, as a god of messengers, merchants, and medicine, released pestilence when he died, a cloud of locusts and sickness that spread through the mortals. Hera, struggling in her drunken stupor to keep control several divine domains of gods that had already been killed, died and caused flora to wither and die. Hephaestus' death had no apparent consequences, though it's likely that blacksmiths and engineers as well as other creatives suddenly lost their passion. You know, if they weren't already dead. Finally, Zeus' death caused all of Greece to be covered in a massive and deadly storm, the weather in disarray for the entire region. The Titans knew this would happen, and wanted the Olympians dead so they themselves could reclaim those divine domains and rule over humanity once more. Daedalus was trapped in _a_ labyrinth within Olympus. Zeus hired him to create it after Kratos killed Ares, because of how well he did on _the_ labyrinth that imprisoned the minotaur. The Fates worked for the Olympians. The were powerful beings that, on top of being gifted in magic and combat, also controlled the Loom of Fate, allowing them to control history. Tampering with time is incredibly dangerous, but if Olympus decides that something _must_ happen, the Sisters manipulate events to ensure that it will. Kratos used the Loom to go back to when Zeus killed him, but after failing to kill Zeus he went back in time to when the Titans were defeated (something they anticipated, as at least Gaia had powerful temporal awareness and reached across time and space to "help" Kratos more than once). Kratos' brother Deimos was trapped by Thanatos (Death) under Zeus' orders. It would have been safer to kill him and Kratos, and Hera herself tried to get Zeus to do so, but Zeus never really desired for any of his children to die. Along the journey to find Deimos, Kratos learns that the gods knew the entire time that he was still alive (keep in mind, prior to killing Ares Kratos had been serving the gods for roughly 20 years, and not one of them told him of his brother). Kratos felt especially betrayed by Athena, because she was the only Olympian that consistently spoke to him with clarity and a measure of respect (though she was likely manipulating him as well, for a LOT of reasons I won't go into now). Deimos believed Kratos intentionally abandoned him and they fought for a bit, before Thanatos attacked them and they made up. Unfortunately, Deimos wasn't as strong as Kratos and died during the battle, only minutes after they had been reunited. Kratos was the God of War for nearly 13 years after Deimos' death, and started a campaign of petty destruction against the cities that worshiped them, setting the army of Sparta on them and personally falling from the heavens to flatten these cities as a giant. He was basically daring the gods to come and fight him for over a decade, but Zeus enforced the rule that the Olympians should not fight each other. By the end of GoW3, Kratos is at least in his mid-50's. There's more, but this is already really long, so I'll end by saying that the games don't really go into where Kratos went after failing to kill himself in Greece, or how he managed to get to the Northlands. We learn in the comics (and books, and interviews), however, that Kratos wandered the earth for years in a crippling depression for all he lost and the destruction he caused, which amounted to no benefit in the end. He traveled through Egypt for a time, and met one of their local gods, Thoth, who along with the ghost of Athena were attempting to get him to kill beasts that were terrorizing the Egyptian mortals. As for how he got to the Northlands, Kratos continued to wander for roughly 1,000 years, eventually going "North" enough to arrive in Midgard. He doesn't remember _exactly_ how he got there, only a hazy memory that one day he was carried on a sled driven by wolves into the Wildwoods in his sleep. He lived there for 114 years, during which time he eventually met Faye, and Atreus is currently 12 years old. That's about as much background as we can give without spoiling your playthrough.
There are a few god he didn’t kill, demeter, hestia, aphrodite and some of ther ones. They mostly likely said “fck this shit im out” and left the realm to go somewhere else
14:30 in God of War lore, Atlas wasn't yet holding up the world. the pillar was doing that so Atlas didn't need to hold it up until after it was destroyed. also not only was she destroying the world. she basically was destroying all of existence as the world would fall onto the underworld destroying his daughter in the process. that's why he had to make that choice. a lot of these recaps glance over how bad Kratos was. he is in no way a good person and a lot of his misfortune was the result of his actions. they tend to focus on his vendetta against the gods which makes him seem like an anti-hero but really Kratos will kill anyone to get what he wants. need someone to hold a gate open? just find an innocent person and jam their body into the mechanism.
You better argue that to mimir and Tyr just looking at God of war Valhalla. They make it seem he isn't right or wrong. But that it's complicated. Tbf tho this poor Don tried to even kill himself to get rid of his nightmares and the gods couldn't even allow that.
@@jackryder5683 it's a soft reboot so I don't worry about that too much but something that did stick with me was how mimir reacts when he first learns who Kratos is. With excitement he says he's hanging from the hips of the bloody ghost of Sparta. In the original series whenever Kratos is called that it's typically out of fear or to mock Kratos. For anyone that understands why he's called that there should never be any excitement.
Kratos did indeed blindly kill his 1st wife and his daughter because Ares tricked him and Kratos didn’t know that his family would be in the town of Athena…the very person who he thought he had to takes and burn army and village down to the ground
I’m really happy you guys are looking into the lore and just happy with God of war as a whole but if I’m being honest this video doesn’t describe the backstory well enough, take the temple for example, he didn’t tell you that his wife and daughter were left in Sparta he just said “Aries moved them” he didn’t even mention kratos could barely see inside either
It's worth mentioning that this video covers plot of the 3 numbered GoW games as well as the PSP games (I can think of 2). So that is why you saw the graphics jump all over there place and there being so many out twists, etc.
For extra context that isn't mentioned in this summary video, Persephone's plan to destroy the world pillar would've resulted in everything including the Elysium Fields and all the souls within it being destroyed as stated by Persephone herself. Meaning that Calliope would've been destroyed had the plan succeeded, so Kratos was left with two options, he either stayed in the Elysium Fields but at the cost of Calliope being destroyed or he stopped Persephone and Atlas but the cost of NEVER seeing his daughter again. Though it was a heartbreaking decision Kratos had to go with the latter decision in order to save his daughter which results in him of course defeating Persphone and chaining up Atlas to forever hold up the upper-world.
in mythology Hephaestus made a throne for hera which was like a trap so she couldn t get off it, which resulted to him asking to marry aphrodite in return of freeing hera (as far as i remember)
Persephone was going to destroy the pillar, holding up the world, which would result in the destruction of all of existence so he had to abandon his daughter in order to save her life
This is a particularly brutal video to consume when one person isn't a greek myth nerd because the original creator goes at 10 miles a minute and assumes familiarity with the source mythos.
I think another reason Kratos “blindly” was able to kill his wife and daughter was because there was no reason for him to believe they were in that temple. In his mind they were back at home. Of course he had no idea Aries secretly teleported them to the temple so in the midst of him slaughtering Athena’s followers the wife and daughter were killed too.
This is why I think people should play the older games. You miss out on just how emotional and epic Kratos' Journey really is when watching summaries like this one. Also because they are Fun! 1, 2, 3, and the Prequel "Ascension" are available on PSN. 29:51 Lol 40:43 Technically 3 was The End. I'm not sure if people were expecting a sequel. Personally I was.
Rewatch the scene where the Stranger first appears, and his conversation with Kratos makes more sense. Rewatch the scene where the Stranger first appears after you've beaten the game, and you'll REALLY understand what was going on.
I only saw 3 and Ascension's but they have these really cool features showing designs of Monsters and individual's, they go hard on designing it all and each designs are so distinct, just getting Poseidon's God form wasnt easy & depressing from what I remember or can remember from the feature for 3.
Nectar is the drink of the gods, ambrosia is the food of the gods. As for how Kratos didn't know who was in the temple, his family was left back in Sparta, but Ares ensured they were in the temple to Athena as part of his plan. Kratos didn't stop to look at anyone in the temple beforehand, he went in swinging. He only really looked at them after they were dead. In the most famous story, Zeus hastily married Aphrodite to Hephaestus in order to prevent the other gods from fighting over her.
24:57KRATOS WAS STILL IMMORTAL AND A FULL GOD, HE JUST DIDN'T HAVE HIS GOD POWERS ANYMORE, SO WHOEVER DID THIS VIDEO IS MISTAKEN BECAUSE HE DIDN'T BECOME MORTAL AGAIN
The glory of mythology is that every generation gets to retell the stories and add new stories and put their own twists on things… and as long as the stories keep getting told, the mythology keeps growing for future generations to inherit. And none of it is required to match or make sense. In centuries to come; Marvel’s version of Thor will be just another mythic interpretation of an ancient figure, just as the God of War franchise will be one more version of Greek and Norse and other such myths.
As a gow fan. The lore video got me light headed from laughing. Cause when you play the game it's all paced with the gameplay and the story. But when he put it like that it was so freaking funny seeing everything kratos did put in that way 😂
There is a documentary call “Raising Kratos”. I’d recommend you to watch it after you finished the 2018 game. It gave a cool insight into the journey of how they reinvent god of war.
Greetings from Chicago ✌️❤️🍿In Greek mythology, Pandora was the first woman on earth. The god Zeus gave her a box and told her not to open it. (In the original Greek, the object was a jar, but the two words are similar, and it seems that Erasmus mistranslated it as “box” and that is what stuck.) Inside the box were all the troubles of the world, including death, and, when Pandora opened it, the troubles escaped to plague the world. Zeus had given her the box hoping that she would open it, thus releasing trouble into the world. This was his way of bringing trouble upon the world since Prometheus had given fire to mankind.
Interesting side note in the first gow game when ares invaded the city of Athens it was based on an actual event in Greece called the peloponnesian war it was basically Athena and Athens fighting Ares and Sparta it was so long it was also a story in Greek mythology
I’ve read about it! I took a whole course on Ancient Greece and Rome and it was so cool to learn about. My favorite part of the history was the battle of Thermopylae. -K
A bit late but ok. Inside Pandora's box where all the evils that resulted from the Titanomachy (the war gods vs titans). Athena also put the power of Hope inside it.
GOW Ascension came out in 2013 and is the last game in the series. The game in chronological order is a prequel of GOW 1 . That is why it wasnt GOW 4 and you joticed the big degrade on graphics. There are 7 greek GOW games(including 4 major titles, one java keypad mobile game, 2 playstation portable games). It was a 5 year struggle to reinvent the franchise in Norse and if you really like the game (GOW 4) after finishing it you can watch the documentary 'Raising Kratos'.
I actually went to my big ole book of mythology to relearn some of what I thought I knew and you’re totally right! The reason being that Hera tried to create life on her own the way Zeus had and it turned out going not exactly how she wanted and so she got angry and cast him away despite him still being a living son of hers. -K
Yeah this video is going a little to fast for something as heavy as Kratos Lore. However it’s appreciated that you took the time to go back and understand certain elements as it can be quite confusing so don’t worry about the pausing so much!
So the reason some of the games look different graphically is because a bunch of these are PS2 and PSP games. In addition to the trilogy there were three prequels including Ascension which came out in 2013 so technically I only had to wait 5 years for God of War 4 lol. Also the building was burning so he couldn't see his wife and child because of the smoke. Also I am really impressed with your Greek mythology knowledge. But Athena did have a mother who Zeus got pregnant and fearing Hera wrath he and her started changing into animals until she turned into a fly and he turned into a eagle and swallowed her. That's why Athena popped out of his head lol. At least one version of the story. I will leave you with a fun fact the heaviest thing Kratos has lifted is 18.5 million tons. The bridge he pushed in God of War 4 weigh 1.7 million tons.
Sorry for double commenting but I felt it was needed. 1 Aries clouded Kratos mind so his wife and child looked like random people. 2 He had to kill his mother because she revealed Zues was his father, cursing her to become a monster. 3 Kratos didn't want to kill Orkos, he actually was pretty fond of him. 4 Elysium would've fallen with the rest of the world which would've destroyed even her living soul. 5 Athena went to a higher plane of existence because she selflessly gave her life. 6 Kratos hree to see Pandora as a brother. 7 quite a fee of the gods honestly themselves killed, many Kratos tried to ignore bur they wouldn't back off. 7 Kratos didn't intentionally release hope, dude just wanted to die and releasing hope was a byproduct of said attempt. This was a good summary but it missed a good bit
Love the reactionvideo. You should do reaction video's explaining each game separately. Because nearly every game is around 10 hours long, so adding all the games together and going over them all in a 30 min video isn't ideal. The video was in super ultra speed to and missed really cool details.

God of War 2 starts when Kratos invades Rhodes and both games were for PS2
23:35 This guy was even more pissed than he is, He blames Kratos for everything that has happened to him which is mad unfair.
As far as I remember it, hephaestus was born ugly, in response to which, Hera threw him down mount olympus for being a disappointment to her "perfect family".
That's the actual Greek Mythology aspect. But you make a good point.
10:12 This is the PSP game God of War: Chains of Olympus.
The series spanned out from PS2, PS3 and PSP. So yeah, the quality will dip a little 😂
"8 years to find out what happened to Kratos. I`m so sorry"
THANK YOU!!! I needed that!
14 minutes or your friend, I'm drinking water from a 5 liter jar 😂
Aries gave him hallucinations and that's when he killed his family, he didn't recognize them till it wore off
Ah okay that makes sense. -K
@@cait_and_kati the lore video was pretty good but left out a handful of small details here and there that made some stuff make a lot more sense
When she ALMOST reveals it to Kratos, the curse activates and transforms her to a monster, forcing Kratos to slay his own mother
omg people were right I used to talk way too fast
When Kratos went into Athena's temple, he killed a few men who charged him or were just trying to get past him to escape first. This caused a lot of dust to fly into the air, the temple was also just starting to burn so smoke was also starting to fill the room. The last two people in the temple were his wife and daughter, the dust and smoke in the air caused him to not be able to see them clearly, just their silhouettes. After he killed them, the dust cleared enough for him to discover it was his wife and daughter.
I like how death does not matter but some of the gods are like o, your a God you should not died so you do not get to crawl out
25:49 I learned so much today and I love that but also “what? Is that not good for you?”is what made my day 🤣
The Hecatonchires were giant offspring of the Titans like the Cyclopes (plural for "Cyclops", per my old English/ Literature teacher). Instead one 1 eye like a Cyclops, though, they had multiple arms ("Hecatonchires" roughly translates to "Hundred-Handed Ones").
14:18 The abandon your daughter quicktime event is still really funny to me
Athena didn’t say she was gonna give the power of hope to humanity
I always thought Athens wanted the power of hope to become a monotheistic god, like in Christianity. Kratos giving Hope to the world would let them survive without the need of gods
You may have noticed at the end, but when Kratos first opened Pandora's Box, it released the evils to the gods, which is why they became so evil, they were already pricks obviously, but they became supervillains because of it:
Zeus - Fear
Poseidon & Hades - Wrath/Hatread(Hades was more directed in his anger whereas Poseidon lashed out in it)
Hermes - Pride
Helios - Deceit
Hera - Sloth
Heracles - Envy(he was super jealous of Kratos due to perceived preferential treatment by Zeus)
Aphrodite - Lust(she was already pretty lustful, but she started to abuse her handmaidens nonconsensually)
Hephaestus - Misery
Athena - Avarice(she wanted to become the only god, there is actually a theory that even before the box she has wanted that, letting Kratos live, telling him that "the gods" have decided that they will not take away his nightmares despite the fact that SHE made the decision, resurrecting the Hydra after Heracles killed it so that Poseidon will give Kratos magic to help defeat it, and then later sacrificing herself for Zeus, possibly knowing that she will ascend into a higher plane of existence(being green))
Your not idiots you’re awesome you learn stuff every day
Good to see someone not from Europe that knows greek mythology. Respect
Blindly going in means he was blind by his rage and blood lust
Hope you guys continue the story, it keeps getting better n better. So much more story
I just wanted to say that the two of you are hilarious. I love your humor, and both of you have excellent comedic timing. I greatly enjoy your summaries of Greek lore.
Thank you! Glad you enjoy it. -K
@@cait_and_kati I loved Greek Mythology too. I was an expert, maybe a tad bit but still, an ardent student of that subject too. My uncle was impressed by that talent.
This video is kind of hit or miss, but it got to the major beats. A bit of clarification here and there:
The war between the Primordials that created the Greek world also created the elements and concepts that govern daily life.
Big fans of the Greek Mythology in God of War? Fasten your seatbelts for God of War: Ragnarok Valhalla!
🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
That makes sense.
Yeah, Kratos seems like he gets a ton of sympathy despite being a warlord. -K
@alsims2007 Ey man, I'm just saying.... lol
Kratos did indeed blindly kill his 1st wife and his daughter because Ares tricked him and Kratos didn’t know that his family would be in the town of Athena…the very person who he thought he had to takes and burn army and village down to the ground
in order for Kratos to be free of his bond with Ares he had to kill the furies and since orkos was technically a fury he had to be killed as well
I’m really happy you guys are looking into the lore and just happy with God of war as a whole but if I’m being honest this video doesn’t describe the backstory well enough, take the temple for example, he didn’t tell you that his wife and daughter were left in Sparta he just said “Aries moved them” he didn’t even mention kratos could barely see inside either
I love how knowledgeable you are about greek mythology.
Absolute obsession in high school leads to a lot of fun facts I enjoy sharing about it now! -K
I love how big everything is in this game and it's very cool. How like a pillar or a titan literally holds up the world
It's worth mentioning that this video covers plot of the 3 numbered GoW games as well as the PSP games (I can think of 2).
Kratos everytime he tells Atreus about his old aventures: "And then I died... But then fortunately I lived"
“My death was greatly exaggerated”
Persephone was going to destroy the pillar, holding up the world, which would result in the destruction of all of existence so he had to abandon his daughter in order to save her life
This is a particularly brutal video to consume when one person isn't a greek myth nerd because the original creator goes at 10 miles a minute and assumes familiarity with the source mythos.
I love how chill the gods are like Rhea. Please don't and he's like I must
I was just wondering if youd check out his backstory. When you're done the game, there's a making of documentary that's amazing to see
I think another reason Kratos “blindly” was able to kill his wife and daughter was because there was no reason for him to believe they were in that temple. In his mind they were back at home. Of course he had no idea Aries secretly teleported them to the temple so in the midst of him slaughtering Athena’s followers the wife and daughter were killed too.
Pandora's box held all the evil/disease until it was opened. the last thing in the box was Hope
This is why I think people should play the older games. You miss out on just how emotional and epic Kratos' Journey really is when watching summaries like this one. Also because they are Fun! 1, 2, 3, and the Prequel "Ascension" are available on PSN.
29:51 Lol
40:43 Technically 3 was The End.
I love that thier all family it make it so much better
16:40NO ATHENA IS A MONSTER
I love that your explaining the stuff
24:57KRATOS WAS STILL IMMORTAL AND A FULL GOD, HE JUST DIDN'T HAVE HIS GOD POWERS ANYMORE, SO WHOEVER DID THIS VIDEO IS MISTAKEN BECAUSE HE DIDN'T BECOME MORTAL AGAIN
Settle down before your heart begins to boil, bruh.
@@usamazahid3882 CRY ABOUT IT
The reaction to upcoming parts of 2018 will be better now that you've seen this it was the right decision
Hepheastus forged the gods weapons, in exchange zeus ordered aphrodite to marry him.
Bro was speedrunning tf outta that resume
Cait was tired from keeping up so she was chugging water
As a gow fan. The lore video got me light headed from laughing. Cause when you play the game it's all paced with the gameplay and the story. But when he put it like that it was so freaking funny seeing everything kratos did put in that way 😂
The creators of the GOW franchise take the myths we know & add their own twists to the stories.
oh the dialogue between kratos and hercules... our dad of BOY! tried to not take everyone out
Hera, the wife of Zeus tossed Hephaestus off of Olympus which is why he's crippled.
There is a documentary call “Raising Kratos”. I’d recommend you to watch it after you finished the 2018 game. It gave a cool insight into the journey of how they reinvent god of war.
Yes! I really want to watch it once we’ve finished the game. -K
Kratos had the “hardest” bossfight with Aphrodite
Aight this caught me off guard and made me laugh -K
GOW Ascension came out in 2013 and is the last game in the series. The game in chronological order is a prequel of GOW 1 . That is why it wasnt GOW 4 and you joticed the big degrade on graphics. There are 7 greek GOW games(including 4 major titles, one java keypad mobile game, 2 playstation portable games). It was a 5 year struggle to reinvent the franchise in Norse and if you really like the game (GOW 4) after finishing it you can watch the documentary 'Raising Kratos'.
OOOHHHH okay that does make a lot of sense. It’s such an intensely cool story and I’m excited to learn more. -K
Every god of war before 4 there a sex minigame and Aphrodite is the minigame in god of war 3
Before doing Raganrok you should watch Suggestive Gaming's summary of God of War 2018, since the beginning includes events between GoW 3 and GoW 2018.
The question that really needs to be asked is, "How many innocent people did Kratos kill?"
Phenix Rising actually tells you Greek stories a bit more accurately with some humor.
Hephaestus is usually depicted as deformed or handicapped because in mythology he was so deformed and ugly his mother cast him from Mount Olympus
I actually went to my big ole book of mythology to relearn some of what I thought I knew and you’re totally right! The reason being that Hera tried to create life on her own the way Zeus had and it turned out going not exactly how she wanted and so she got angry and cast him away despite him still being a living son of hers. -K
I really cant wait for yall to play more god of war (2018) and after RAGNAROK ! :D
Hilarious he left out the part in the game where kratos sleeps with athrodite even though technically they’re siblings lol
34:14R U SERIOUS
There's 2 comics of God of war that explains how he got to Norse mythology
Thats good that he saw his daughter and i like all the people the gods and charon
Killing ares mission i mean, i never played, but it feels like it is a hassel, and when you kill him it like a breather
The easiest way to catch up would be to play the old trilogy. It's fun
God you poor things. Probably more confused now 😂
Sorry for double commenting but I felt it was needed.
