We do have a lot of snacks and desserts in northern Nigeria though… sesame cakes (nome or ridi), caramel bites (carbin malam), coconut candies (kwakumeti), rice four cakes (nakiya), whole wheat snack (alkaki), Sweet flour biscuits (dubulan), jaggery (mazankwaila), beef/chicken/fish floss (dambun nama), beef jerky (kilishi), slow cooked/ grilled meat (danderu), gireba, hikima, peanut candy bars (hallaka kwabo), peanut caramel bars (iloka), shashaka, tofu (awara) and so on. Honestly you need to try these if you’ve not. Nigeria is a very diverse country, I bet you don’t know these cos you didn’t grow up in the country. @chennaitolagos
@@EmekaOkafor-me4er tuwo is a meal not dessert but atleast common things we share as Nigerians; meatpie, kunu, zobo, puffpuff, buns, eggroll, fish roll etc
So garri and beans mixed together is called concrete in my area. Garri is the cement, while the beans become the stones, when mixed together they become an unbreakable concrete for building the stomach infrastructure.
Indians r so beautiful my son was married to an Indian woman but she passed and my son really took it hard thats was my daughter-I love bless her heart her name was Angel American Indian
I dunno about that habernaro, its more like scotch bonnet lol. That pepper soup is not the trad kind, looks more like plantain porridge lol, plus it is not made with turkey either. Typical peppersoup is like meat broth in look and consistency.
It will be good to explain to them about Nigerian cutural menu, for example it is not all regions on Nigeria that drinks gari with beans or whatever,. the North does not have this menu, so it not be good to generalised ut as " Nigerian food "
The same thing can be said about claiming that Nigerian & Ghanaian food is "African food". They are but those dishes aren't eaten throughout Africa. Nigerian & Ghanaian dishes are two varieties of "African food"!
Those stews look really rich. Just as I remember them. And yes, they cant yet understand what Garri really is until they see it. Ìròyìn ò tó àfojúbà. Make una well done ma 9ja people.
Hey beautiful people! Please forgive some sound issues - so much was going on in the restaurant. Hope you enjoy this! ❤
Please try South African food as well!

😢@@safinabuharis7456I miss ridi so much. I now live in Lagos and I crave for ir
Just call them snacks. A dessert is a course that concludes a meal. No one eats tuwon shinkafa and waits for mazarkwaila to finish it off.

Una go just the make unnecessary arguments. As long as the food is found within the boundries of Nigeria it is NIGERIAN FOOD.
These are just the Nigerian urban dishes. You have other hundreds of tribal and ethnic dishes you won't see in the Cities
