Diane/ Raul: Thanks for a fun overview of homes in Puerto Rico. I bought a vacation condo in Isa Verde 10 years ago. Prices were /are much less than mainland ocean front properties on the east coast. I rent my property to cover the mortgage and tax benefits of course. Your comments were right on time. I continue to enjoy every moment on the island. Thanks again.
I applaud the effort of this real estate agent. In spite of the major challenges the Island faces, this dude is out there hustling and moving inventory, even if it is for stateside investors. Call it gentrification if you want, but if is not for these state side investors, this buildings would remain abandoned or in very bad shape like the Normandie Hotel 🏨
Could you do a video about the West Side of Puerto Rico (region protected from Hurricanes)? I heard that there is an English enclave of American Retirees at Aguadilla which is close to Majaguez because of the former American Airfare Base there?
Right now, buying property in Santurce is like buying the old abandoned buildings in the Bronx for a $1 in the 70s. Where some see trash, others see a potential windfall. Those who bought abandoned buildings in the Bronx in the 70s and rehabilitated them, later sold for millions in the late 90s.
No issue with the scenery, vibe, and the potential of the neighborhood, but it would also be fair (for the prospective buyers) to be aware of the weak condition of the infrastructure and the issue of severe flooding during regular periods of sustained rains. Not that they cannot be managed but may deteriorate structure in the long term.
Things are getting so expensive in Puerto Rico just like Hawaii for what you getting I do not think some are worth it. Everything now is overly priced. Other countries have so much more to offer for your dollar. I am Puerto Rican but I cannot see myself living in Puerto Rico with what they have to offer. Sad but true
Best looking houses I’ve seen in the metro area are In Guaynabo, dorado, some parts in Rio Piedras y Carolina like some big houses at mansiones de vista mar marina kinda behind the airport.
The metro area are: Carolina, San Juan (Inc. Río Piedras, Hato Rey, Santurce and more), Cataño, Bayamón, Levittown, Trujillo Alto and Guaynabo... Not Dorado. Dorado is out of the Met. Area.
Reality check: Today at 6:30 PM in broad light I was assaulted on Calle Loiza right across Gallery Plaza. This is considered a top location. Earlier the same guy assaulted two more people on Calle Loiza. He was arrested. I spent a couple of hours at the police station . They confirmed that even in Condado at night there are assaults and murders. He mentioned the prestigious but not well lit Calle Wilson and the recurring violent crimes that happen there. Deposition at the district attorney office tomorrow morning.
@@dorkladytravels it’s very troubling that the police after receiving a 911 call by the first person assaulted, took over half an hour to find and arrest a 6’4” guy with no shirt that by foot was able in the meantime to assault two more people in less than one miles radius. Only when I let 911 know the guy in the meantime run in the SuperMax parking lot they finally got him. Again here in Condado is full of tourist and yet they are incapable to protect a vital territory. I had to wait half an hour for the ambulance to show up to take care of the wound on the left shoulder. Even on this, good luck waiting if things are really bad. This is PR (or at least this is San Juan) When S@@T hits the fan you discover that things aren’t managed as we are used to and this is a big problem to swallow. Talking with the police with no surprise they say that San Juan is the least safe place in the island.
You guys are glamorizing Isla Verde, Ocean park and Condado That’s like the worst place to live in puerto Rico No Parking ever Angry people 24/7 Druggies wackos physcos 24/7 people screaming lots of tourists taking up space! not to mention its not even pretty its pretty ugly, I’d suggest glamorize Palmas del Mar now that place is 10 times better Or Dorado 100 times better
@@ErnestoCruzBey I live in Santurce San Juan and there is no growth here and it’s just getting worse. Also many places like barrio obrero, tras talleres are just seeing more crime and less opportunities.
@@ErnestoCruzBey Totally agreed. The people are completely Americanized and they are so lazy, just taking money from el PUA. I’m glad there are still hard workers here that work hard for their money. I currently work as a welder and I’m doing good thank god.

Isla Verde Beach is the best!!

Thanks for sharing Diane, very interesting video & info. Glad to see that you are fine. May God bless you and your family abundantly.
Well Diane 6 weeks to go renting for 6 months in Isabela and waiting to buy next year some time.
Loiza street needs more trees. It would make it look ever more inviting. I'm sure lack of trees doesn't stop the spree.

No. There are "Chic" areas in Santurce like Ciudadela, Miramar and other expensive and high class condominiums.
Diane, you’re such a resource! Thanks!!

Did you know that Isla Verde is not San Juan. It's an area of Carolina town.

condado//?
I think yea
are these homes Hurricane and earth quake proof
need more palm. trees
Im trying to find a place to live near or around santurce area for 3weeks now and nothing. 1 or 2 bedroom for rent around 1k buck, any recommendation?
I like Condado than Isla verde
Go east of Puerto Rico , until you get to ponce 2 capital of the island
Large Spanish?? homes in Ocean Park? Ok... 🤔
Ocean Park no matter is invade by non puertoricans, it still be in PR and PR is spanish. We still being proudly hispanics.
@@normagonzalez7470
The truly "large Spanish homes" as far as I know are in old San Juan not Ocean Park which was founded in mostly the 40's and 50's.

Hard to hear with a mask on
They call it the top neighborhoods and they look terrible, no wonder it's tax free.
Puerto Rico will be better as a State
I agree. If a foreign president is going to make decisions on your land, you should atleast have the right to vote him/her in or out.

Is it REALLY necessary to wear those masks?
They were required at the time of filming.
