Great fabric. The mustard fabric would make a great lined wrap with a contrast color at the neck,as an attached scarf , collar, etc. The floral would make a great skirt or tunic top. The cord. would make a great skirt, lined of course. We're others more topper fabrics or, legging type. Either would be great! Can't wait to see what you do with all your goodies. Enjoy them.

So good that you go to your stash first for fabric and patterns. I see so many vlogs with what would amount to a sewing shop behind them and still buying new fabric.
The Nina Lee skirt pattern is similar to the one you want to make with pockets.
Your yellowish fabric would look good in the cardigan pattern you have and it would allow you a pop of colour or grey next your face.
Your coat is a lovely fabric and pattern, you could always hand stitch the buttonholes perhaps.
    A really enjoyable vlog👍

Nice to see you back again. I think your plan for the black and grey fabric sounds good. The taupe corduoroy would make a nice jeans-style jacket - the lack of stretch wouldn't be an issue so much then. I think that floral fabric really suits your colouring and would look lovely as a top. The yellow star fabric could look good as an open cardi - you could then use it over tops that coordinate with it and really suit you - like that lovely floral - and the overall effect would be great.

The grey fabric with birds will make a perfect wrap for now since grey is so in. It will go well with the shirt you are wearing. Make it before grey goes out.

I like the Merlin coat shape which you could make in Camel. There is also the Ivy Skirt which is asymmetrical and you could add buttons as decoration...

Thank you for your vlog. An idea for your grey bird and mustard fabrics. How about a reversible wrap using both fabrics as the colours complement each other. It would be lovely and warm too.

Like you, I have SO MANY Pinterest boards AND I have boards on my own computer as well!
I'm rally inspired with your camel coat idea. For you maybe make a neutral camel colored coat then make scarves of different textures and colors that bring out the newest look you desire. I got inspired with your the camel. I have a leopard scarf I couldn't figure out what to wear it with. I think I'll make a camel cardigan then drape the scarf to embellish the look.
For you bird print, what about making a slouchy cardigan, like Simplicity 1108?
Your corduroy is an absolutely gorgeous color. What about making a jacket out of it? Like maybe a bomber, demim or moto jacket?
For your denim fabric, McCall's 7906 may be nice.

I just can’t get to my sew room, between the summer garden and other yard work, then squaring the yard away for winter, and expanding my chicken house, a visit to see my parents...it was a very busy summer! I made a few masks, and need to finish some more, and made some fleece jumpers for my Sphinx grand kittens, that is it for my sewing for the past 6 months. Oh, I forgot, I made 5 pairs of lounge shorts for my hubby. Those were fast and fun.

Camel coat, funky lining, but plain lapel. The floral would be beautiful, but maybe too precious for lining. New corduroy for bottoms, use the no stretch for a jean jacket

You could make a denim jacket out of the charcoal denim fabric - it would look so chic in that color and you wouldn't need stretch in a jacket!

Hello, interesting that you love pattern but struggle with it on you. When I look at you I see an elegant simplicity that may look best in elegantly simple clothes. Your squarish shoulders are perfect to drape from so the wrap is a good idea will look great. I have similar colouring to you (tho my hair is grey these days😌). I find because my tones are muted a colourful pattern like the floral doesn't sit as well as a two toned pattern like the bird print. Perhaps you could tone down the floral by pairing it with a plain knit, for example use floral just for sleeves or even on the back. I love a bit of surprise back action! I think the bird print in the drapery outer wear would be great. Thank you for your channel, it is definitely one of my favourites.

What a lovely chatty vlog Carrie. So nice to see people with Down's syndrome celebrated! I worked with adults with learning disabilities and absolutely loved it, it's so crap that we have this negative ableist mentality! Onto your skirts, if you make the Love Sewing skirt which is just fitted at the waistband, you wouldn't have to worry about the cord bagging (as long as you use a bulletproof interfacing on the waistband). If you are thinking of one of the asymmetric styles I agree that something with elastane would be better. BTW I recently made the Arielle and just angled out the side seams to make it more a line, theres a pic on my insta. And you should DEF use the bird fabric to make a wrap, it will look chic as hell! xxx

Nice to see you back, and enjoying the thought process with pinterest. A york pinafore from Helen's Closet might be good in the corduroy as the relaxing of the fabric won't really matter. It will look good over Mandy tees too! And the denim might make a fantastic Closet Core Patterns Sienna maker jacket- saying so just because that's what I'm considering at the moment!

I think the cord would look great in a short culotte such as the Gobi culottes from Itch to Stitch. Style Arc has a nice wrap called the Salma Wrap that would look nice with your sparkly birds. The knit that you don't want near your face would look good in Style Arc's Avary Tunic it's a color block pattern and you can pick a solid in a suitable color for near your face. The black denim would be a very striking coat! All looks fun! Good luck.

A wrap in the fabric with sparkle birds would be very nice. You could use the yellow as a shrug so a top would break up the color near your face although I think it would be fine.

I think non-stretch corduroy is better for oversized button-front shirts, straight or boxy jackets, pinafores, or dungarees that are not too fitted, rather than skirts or trousers. The floral jersey seems perfect for some kind of simple t-shirt or boat tee. I have that Lisette coat pattern to make a wool coat in camel someday, so timeless. Thanks for sharing.

  • @debbyhill7365

I think your cordoroy would be lovely as a pinafore lined with antistatic fabric so it shouldn't bag out as much. Possibly the York pattern. Would also look good with your floral fabric under made into a slouchy polo top. Both are eady makes and even easier to wear. The navy fabric would be great as the slouchy card you mentioned by aisha shay. Hope that helps a little. You're doing a great job so don't beat yourself up about not sewing everything you want. Slow sewing is also good for for your wellbeing😀

I think I AM patterns may have a skirt pattern you might like. Sonia Estep Designs has a couple cardigan style tops you can possibly into a wrap. Also Style Maker fabrics just released some beautiful fabrics that resemble many of your Pin board inspirations. They have shipping discounted until October 5th I believe. Happy sewing!

You could use the floral as the bottom half of the Discoverer tee by Ellie and Mac www.ellieandmac.com/products/discoverer-tee-pattern. You could put a plain colour near your face then. I’ve made this - it’s a great pattern.👍

I love 100% natural fabric so do not buy stretch fabrics. Some ideas for your skirt. If you line it then it will not bag out so much. Also if you go with a fit that does not hug the body but flows over it that may make enough difference in not bagging out too much. You might also consider a skirt out of the floral with birds and style it with a sweater on the top.
