They are so cute when they howl, Yuki has her own little verbalisation, Olive always makes me laugh, she still has her puppy mannerisms, her jerky quick movements and she uses her legs and paws so much, Monty is the sweetest boy in the world.

There seems to be something about metal reed instruments as a whole that gets to dogs. Because as a teen/young adult living with family, I got into several instruments in that family (harmonica, accordion, reed organs) and several of our dogs would do this. It didn't seem to be learned. Because the first dog that did howl had passed away before we had gotten the second one (who would open doors, come in and howl so loud I couldn't practice 😂)
