Masterchef Australia: "Make a high-end, restaurant quality dish that incorporates popcorn" Masterchef USA and Canada: "Make an omelette without burning the kitchen down"
I like how some chefs completely miss the point of the ONE INGREDIENT they need to showcase. "For the salmon challenge, I've made you a pepperoni pizza!"
@@mukaonline3 Sorry for the necro. I actually paused the video and thought about the flavour of popcorn. My conclussion was that a popcorn challenge isnt about the taste of popcorn but about texture. (and in a very creative way, the last chef incorporated uncreative standard popcorn flavour. Guess the challenge was more about the popcorn experience than the popcorn itself)
If they have a sauce, or something that should only go on the plate at the time of eating, like something frozen, they can serve it in the moment. I remember in another episode one of the judges asking for another spoon of ice cream, because the one on the plate had started melting.
@@PatriciaXara correct, they always do it with sauce and very cold items that would melt while waiting for the judges to taste and talk while judging the other contestants
"Popcorn flavor" Does popcorn even have a flavor? Isn't it used as a vessel to carry other flavors, precisely because it has no flavor? When has anyone ever enjoyed un-flavored popcorn? Wtf? "We want you to incorporate AIR in your dish" "Sorry, not really tasting the AIR in your dish"
No Username I think because she licked her fingers after serving them. I don’t agree though; what was she meant to do wipe her fingers on her clothes? As long as she washes her hands before further cooking it’s fine.
The last girl was like:
“Y’all want popcorn,I’ll give you popcorn!”
Masterchef Australia: "Make a high-end, restaurant quality dish that incorporates popcorn"

1st dish: no popcorn
2nd dish: not enough popcorn
3rd dish: too much popcorn
at least the judges eat the food unlike the US series where the food seems to be wasted

No the title is wrong. One recipe incorporated popcorn. Two with hints of popcorn.
Australian chefs just eat eat n eat...thy dont taste they Eat.
Canada chef just tk 1 bite n say the verdicts
Masterchef AU is still the best
Shouldn't the last one only be able to bring one of her plates up? seeing as she hasn't finished plating?

Late reply, but they definitely do more than just desserts in their challenges.
