Dudeeee so as I saidddd I stumbled across Grimoire Noir in the bookstore when it was supposed to be out of stock, obviously brought it and just finished reading. And now the goddess blessed us with a new video. This is definitely a good day.
Wow what a coincidence, I’m 15 and love to draw. Seeing how you improved was so cool, I like to imagine your old self would be so happy and proud with your current drawing!
i'm discovering you and i love your art style ! also im not a profesionnal and im kinda young so maybe the more i will learn the more i will value sketches in sketchbook, but the fact is that most of the time i do finished illustration so it's kind of funny to hear about the "finished illustration sketchbook"
I've been doing primarily digital art for the last ten years or so, and you're making me want to dive back into a sketchbook again!!!😭😭😭 Love, love, love this sketchbook series!
my main issues with my old art from like 5 years ago is anatomy, i drew noodle arms, skeleton people and tried to avoid hands as much as possible. Now, my figures are still skiny as fuck, but no more noodle arms and my hands are better, especially after the details. i try to find poses as close to what i want as possible and if i have art blocks, i watch some videos, listen to music and figure out something that don't requirer as much effort as like a full on acrylic painting. last time it was mushroom animals. i asked my boyfriend what animal i should combine with the iconic red mushroom and he immediately said wolf. after that, i just went after my own head with like 8 different water color mushroom-animal combination. Good luck for your comic! ❤️
i heavily relate to some of what you've said about being a 'sketchbook perfectionist' in your past videos; i've always been one of those people who wanted a super neat, aesthetic sketchbook, but it actually just made me *more* intimidated to use the damn thing LMAO so, with this in mind, i went out and got myself a new sketchbook to bring with me wherever i go, and i let myself do messy scribbles and stick figures, or even just random scrawls (i bought myself a few posca pens for this, which give it a bit of colour and make me enjoy looking at the messy pages). now i actually enjoy using my sketchbook, and my drawings have improved for it too! i thank your self-awareness about this in your videos for this LOL. lovely drawing as ever--love the emo/scene kid vibes!
Yeah I love how accessible alcohol markers are now. I coveted Copic and Prismacolor markers when I was young, but those were all there really were. I use Copic now but I'm in my 30s and draw for a living. I'm so happy that teens and beginners who want to feel things out can use brands like Arrtx and Ohuhu. also YOOOOO HYUNG-TAE KIM I was sooooo into his stuff growng up. Dude does some fun things with color.
I really enjoyed this video! I'm going to have to go back to the videos I've missed from you lol. I feel like I've just been watching a lot of random background noise podcasts while I draw recently and I really want to get back into watching more artists I love. Hearing you talk about your process is so inspiring for me to hear and I'm excited to finish my own art instead of procrastinating 💜
It is so amazing to see someone’s art journey. I recently went through my first ever sketchbook that I filled which was like 3 years ago and I love that I have improved but it also reminded me of that zone you get in (that you were talking about), and how it doesn’t happen as much. For me it’s time, now I have a set amount of time and I worry about finishing instead of the art. I have to constantly remind myself that I can come back to it another day. Thanks for sharing 🤗💕 It came out so good.
I admire your style and this video was so motivational for me to keep drawing! I am at the stage of perfect scene in my head - but able to draw just a person standing with one eye slightly wrong 😅 keep posting videos, they're great! ❤️
man i LOVEEE love your art style the skill definitely shines through but it's crazy how i still think the 17 year old drawing your 15 year old self made is GOOD! like yes of course it's lacking the skill your current self has but your penchant/love/talent for drawing shines. she looks so nice, love her design.
Damn, Cosmic, your inking/lineart process is so relaxing to watch! I even bought a dip pen cause I saw you using them and it was just so cool I think this is one of the first times I see you using micron pens, and it's also very preasing to see too! IDK, it seems like the ink flows so free and yet so well controlled from your hands, aaaaaaaaa >w
im not a good artist by any means but when ever i get sad or in my head i look up youre videos .. and i listen to you while i draw or remake my memories . you really cheer me up and i find youre videos and voice calming thank you for keeping me out of my own head . keep being you and you are amazing
I recently found your channel from your previous video and I LOVE your artstyle. The clothes, the hair, the way you do lineart, just everything. Your videos make me want to practice how to draw clothing because I have such a limited amount of outfits I can draw since I'm not good at that part.
What you mentioned about listening to music vs stories--I also find myself more distracted with stories/people just talking. It got to a point where I started to feel like I was more creative in highschool but then again back then there was nothing stimulating me other than my mp3 player and my sketchbook. I find it better to listen to music when I sketch and get an idea out but when it comes to coloring I can listen to podcasts or stories because it takes way less creative energy (for me at least)
all i had for a long long time was grey scale alcohol markers, adding colours was a huge lightbulb moment for me and markers, but i still go back to simple monochrome colours every once and awhile just to practice 😀
Since I saw the first video of you using microns again I’ve been super drawn to your channel and I get so inspired and motivated to draw when i watch I love your artstyle ao much 😭😭❤️
I have no words with your amazing art progress, and I also love how your art career comes from a happy place, all your hard work have paid off, congratulations 😍💕😍💕😍💕
i just watched your video where you use micron pens & markers again after a long time. and now i wonder if you'll have the same experience you had with micron pens with mechanical pencils. you said you use quite a bit of pressure, and that's what frustrates me with mechanical pencils, how easily they break. 💕
I didn't know about anything about other markers so i only knew about copics, i think the most i had was like, 20, i ended up selling them in the end and got some bullet tips year later, they're still going strong!
is there anyway you can do something like this but with like chunky people or i guess thick ppl haha i love your art and how you draw its so relaxing i was just wandering if u could do something like that to boost my spirit haha
I tried alcohol markers and honestly I hate them passionatley because I can't blend them easily and it's just a crap ton of work which ends up ripping/ruining my paper + looks crappy in the end FOR ME. (Others can work well with it I despise them).
Idk if your ever gonna see this but I always wondered are u only a freelance artist and is RUclips making enough money for u to live comfortably I hope u don’t mind me asking I just want to know for my future art journey 😁 I now realize u have more followers on Instagram so guess u would make more money there then 😅
I reaaaaally hope you do more stuff like this! I really like all your old work and seeing it again is so fun. I love all your characters and i love hearing your stories!
