Despite being an Asura, King Bali was a pious man and was a devotee of Vishnu like his grandfather Prahalad.
One day the Brahmana Vamana reached the court of King Bali requesting for charity or alms. It was a custom in the court of Bali that no Brahman would leave his place empty handed. So the King was more than willing to offer the Brahmana anything he desired. Upon questioning his needs, Vamana said that he wanted land measuring up to three steps of his tiny feet. But Bali urged the Brahman that he was capable of giving him more and insisted that he asked enough that he would never have to anything ever again.
Bali asked Vamana to measure his three-foot sized land and it would be given to him. Then Vishnu in the form of Vamana began growing his size. He grew and grew until he filled the whole universe.
He then lifted his foot to measure three steps. In one step he measured the whole Earth under his feet. In his second step he covered the SwargaLok. Vamana in his gigantic form asked his Bali that he had convered the Earth and Heaven in two stride. Now there was nothing left in the universe that could satisfy his demand of the third foot of land. But since Bali had promised him three-foot of land, it was his duty to fulfill his promise. Bali was defeated. But in all his humility he requested Vishnu to come back to his original form of Vamana, so he could fulfill his promise. Vishnu accepted his request and retured his gentle form of a dwarf. The King then asked Vamana to put his third step on his head, thus surrendering everything he had, even himself to Vishnu.

Actually lord Vamana doesn't give everything back...when the lord asks for where to keep his forehead, Bali replies by saying to keep it on his head. Lord got impressed by his reply and kept his foot on Bali's head pushing him into Patal lok from Earth. He made Bali the king of patal lok!

I agree with those who said Bali was pushed into Pathaallok with Vamana’s third step, but Bali is allowed to return to Earth once a year. That’s when Malayalees celebrate Onam. Regardless, this is a great series. Please keep posting more!
That's wrong. Lord Vamana never pushed Bali to patal lok. Lord gently touched his feet onto Bali's head. Please get your facts right and stop spreading wrong message
I am in kerala the land which is know as gods own country, birthplace of shiva's son ayyapa, land made by parashuram, where vaman avatar of vishnu was born, one of the greatest king mahabali, world's richest temple and some other rich temples
I think Onam is celebrated for this is reason.

Bali was not returned his kingdom. Instead he was made king of pataal lok. Bali asked Lord Vishnu that once every he should be allowed to return to see his kingdom. Lord agreed and every year Mahabali returned to his kingdom and the day is celebrated as Onam in Kerala.
Mahabali come to us from patal lok every year on onam festival

If I may ask just for my little clarity here, I think there are other stories that connect also; where I have heard about Bali not being given everything back but he gets one with the lord as the third step goes on his head and then Bali goes back or is pushed back into the earth thus his moment of enlightenment and how Lord Bali visits his people every year after that on the same day to bless them and thus the festival of onam is celebrated today. Could you bring a little clarity to my question here please. Thank you. I always enjoy your videos and keep more coming. A lot of ❤️😘 for this amazing effort you keep up to

Bali was the king among the Asuras.
It was a time, long ago, when Deva and Asura used to manifest themselves on Earth regularly, in a tangible way.
Because of his nature and of his talent, Bali succeded in fighting Deva and gained control over many sectors of reality.
But it was not his duty to manage multiple different fields, and a general degrade would have occurred.
Deva, deprived and humiliated, turned to Lord Vishnu for help.
Lord Vishnu chose to take birth and manifest Himself for the 5th time, also to fulfill the curse of Bhrigu.
Thus Vāmana was born, in a pius family of brāhmana.
He was a dwarf.
Lord Vishnu chose to abide that kind of "body/brain-mind" to let appearance deceive His adversary.
Vāmana was able to contain His aura in order to reveal His identity in a proper moment.
Hari manifested Himself suddenly and mightily.
In that encounter a deep contact took place, so disturbing that the Asura had to give up and recognise the supremacy of Lord Vishnu.

I am too a great devotee of lord vishnu, but sometimes i found myself in a dilemma due to his actions. Like here in the above story on the request of indra lord vishnu helped him to get the swarglok back form his pious devotee bali, who won the swarglok through his skills and talent, and as mentioned he was a great king and dharmic despite of being a demon. Hence he deserves to rule the swarglok maybe he could have ruled better than indra but why did lord vishnu helped the incapable indra who lost his kingdom?
Please please do answer my question as i don't want to disrespect lord vishnu by doubting his action as i truly love him❤.🙏🏻

Maybe it's about asuras and not about Bali. Bali is good king but it's Asuras who are treated as threat. And if they conquer swarga loka then they will have amrutha with which they become immortal and hard to eradicate.

It is because prime duty of lord vishnu to maintain the balance of the universe.Each and every individual, human o non human has his own place and duty bound to universe and set limits appropriately so the natural balance of the universe is maintained.Eventhough , king bali is pious, he went out of the way of the universe, ( balance of universe is thatdevas to be in heaven, daithyas opposite to them and humans to occupy earth),to restore the balance ,lord vishnu sent him to underworld.
Eventhough ,they say king Bali z a Vishnu devotee.Real Vishnu devotee does not go behind the materialism.He seeks the spiritual guidance and liberation from lord while content with what he has.
Then lord Vishnu , will bless him with evrything in this world and surely hereafter too.

in one of the shows showed in India, it is showed that Ratnamala was the daughter of king Bali and seeing her father going to patalok made her furious and took the oath of giving poison to Vishnu. Thus in her next life she was Putna who was killed by Krishna after trying to breastfeed poison to the infant Krishna.

I like most of what you are posting however there are some serious flaws, like in the story of Vaman - the third step is on Bali's head then takes him into neither world, giving him that to rule, in exchange Bali asks for a boon and the boon is Vishnu stays with him in the netherworld as his guard, then after some time Goddess, Laxmi comes to Neitherworld and makes Bali her brother then asks for Vishnu as her gift... hence then Vishnu returns to seer Sagar, however, bali asks for Vishnu when will he visit him in the flesh again, he says Rama Avatar when he goes to Lanka to fight Ravan two daemons will kidnap ram to the netherworld; and during Krishna Avatar ... Also mention in your video on Kali avatar, Vishnu will bring back the cast system... In the Gita Stated clearly there is no high or low cast all are my children... remember when Sabree told Ram about the brahmins when they found out she was a different cast the shunned her... hence the Lord Cursed those brahmins wherever they'd go the land would go barren waters would dry up...
Ending is wrong. Bali was pushed into pataal lok and was made its King.
I read a chapter in Bhavisya puran where ot says that King Bali would come back to earth reincarnated as Allah some one know more about this........
Just because one is a demon doe not mean one is a "bad" person. I don't think I believe in the concept of anyone or anything being either all good or all bad. Look at it from the perspective of Christianity, even: I don't believe this ever actually happened, but when the snake told Eve to eat the fruit, what was it doing other than freeing us from bondage under the Jealous God?
Your understanding is better, more nuanced, than the average Christian one, I think. Asuras aren't 100% evil. They can be good (like Bali) or bad, but they're all power hungry.

This story always irks me. Why did Lord Vishnu do such a thing to Bali, who was a very good king and person? Why is lord Vishnu biased towards the Devas, even after Indra has been shown to have so many flaws? People say all kinds of things to justify it, but it really doesn't add up properly in my mind. It makes me wonder if a lot of our mythology is a biased account of the victor?
Devas were evil and untair in most cases.That is wh6 this story books need to be trashed.
