My favourite episode, the whole drama is brilliant but this episode is outstanding, a masterclass in acting. Her little smirk through her tears after she stabs him is exactly how I would be in that moment. Gu Jun and Tianchi are such beautiful characters that I think women all over the world must have fallen in love with them, and Xu Kai being able to play the differences in character of Bai Jue and Qing Mu in phenomenal. The entire cast is golden, even the smaller parts are played beautifully. Scriptwriting and Directing are excellent, all the cast and crew did an incredible job. Please give Lai Yi more dramas though and bigger roles because he's really talented and Gu Jun is one of my favourite characters ever. 🙏
I know what you mean, I had a total crush on Gu Jun, he was my favorite character beside Shang Gu | Hou Chi. I do have to admit though that the actress playing Wu Huan (Jenny Zhang) actually did a pretty great job making me despise her completely through the series, she played a very good villain.
@@eryianI agree with you. I think we all loved and empathized with Wu Huan when she struggled to fit in the God Realm and we all felt betrayed when she killed Yuemi & turned into a devil. The actress playing Shanggu did a phenomenal job expressing the complex emotions in her relationship with Wu Huan as well.
This is a very emotional scene that I seen the ancient love of poetry. Accepting the true being of shanggu and the perseverance of Bai Jue not to show any emotion inorder to protect his beloved shanggu
A-lin really did a great job singing this song. The whole OST was great. Mao Buyi did a great job singing the outro song and Zhao Shen as well, I am not sure who the other female singer was but whoever chose the music did a great job. Every song perfectly matched the scent it was played in.
I consider this the most tragic but also the most awkward scene in the series. Bai Jue's foolishness is made obvious for all to see. He decided to let Houchi live tens of thousands of years spited by everyone else in her circle, because he thought that Shanggu's wish for a normal life meant being humbled. Without ever giving her the love that was the only thing she left with regret when she first sacrificed herself. Then, when he was Qingmu, he finally gave her that love, but what did he do as soon as he regained his memory as Bai Jue? He decided she should hate him and forget him, and for this reason he treated her like crap. What was the point of that? It reduced her to the point of wanting to die. And his other excuse was that he didn't want Wu Huan to realise he was onto her; except Wu Huan never fell for his ruse even for a moment, but kept amassing power as he let her. Just to hurt Shanggu. And everyone else who died in the process. And don't even get me started on the kind of neglect his son had to go through in the most sensitive years of childhood. And why? Because he wanted to take over her mission.

I'm so mad at this show. It was beautiful, it was artistic, it was heartbreaking. But it was all about abuse. I don't think it meant to be chauvinistic, on the contrary, Shanggu was the most powerful, bad-ass character one could write. The problem was in fact that she was so powerful that the writers didn't know what to do with her, in terms of poignancy, so they gave her the doom of sacrificing herself for all creation. But she was still too powerful to go one episode with a real challenge, so they made up all sorts of excuses for her to be either dormant or unaware. Those excuses ended up being handbook abuse.
Yea, I hated Bai Jue too for being a sanctimonious prick who thought he knew better than everyone else. In the end Shang Gu and Tian Qi both had to be there to defeat Wu Huan, without them Bai Jue would have lost in the end. If Bai Jue hadn't screwed up, it's possible Gu Jun could have finished cultivating Shang Gu's chaos energy and return it to her without harming himself in the process and then there would have been another True God to fight against Wu Huan in the end.
I had too much pain on this episode I cried a lot while hearing those words from houchi. The pain when she died when she was shanggu just for the common people. And betrayals for her happiness she just totally innocent for all of this. Even we know that baijue just protect her for what going to happen on the future again 😢😢. So sad this episode 😭😭

Girl. Every cdrama relationship is toxic. The man always act high and mighty, belittle, or torment, humiliate the woman, killing her or destroying everything she loved/care about. Once she dies, then he instantly regrets it. As soon as she is reincarnated or wakes up. He than follows like a lost puppy begging for forgiveness. And the dumb broads forgives the person who treated them worse than garbage.
Have you watched yhe whole story,he did all those things just to save her,he knew that the tribulation of chaos wpuld occur again and he didnt wanted to sacrifice her again so he created the power of chaos in himself and saved her life and in the end he died😢
He made her hate him so she wouldn't find out he was planning to sacrifice himself in her stead, as well as make her sad at his death. He takes her place to die during the tribulation.
