Steve, you're probably the best host ever! The excitement, the way you explain stuff and the way you get other people to participate and have fun. Awesome!
@TheCrazyCoasterKid our show is exclusive to RUclips. Thanks for the kind words, glad you are enjoying it! Any experiments you would like to see us do on the show?
I'm 25, in the military, and after PT while eating breakfast I watch the Spangler Effect. This is awesome, it reminds me when I used to start my day with Bill Nye as a kid.
I watched this because we learned about this in science class a little while ago, and because I seriously want one of the things with the silver balls, I think they're so cool!
thanks i found a new idea for the the science fair i really like ur ideas whenever there is a science fair i just recheck the videos and find something
Love it. Finally found a way to explain dribbling a ball to my science minded son! The energy transfer can explain how 2 people on a trampoline can be dangerous because of energy transfer as well.
The mass of the pendulum in the system is an independent variable and does not affect the system as a whole. So, you could keep 175 ml of water in one can and only add, say 100 ml to the other and the experiment would give you the same results since the driving force behind the pendulum is gravity, which is a constant. Fascinating transfer of energy though. I haven't set up this experiment myself yet, but I'm sure if we could see the connecting rope, it would reveal a lot just in the visual.
@TheSpanglerEffect My Physics teacher did this and I was the lucky one who got to have the bowling ball brought to my face all I had to do was trust the person on the other side of the classroom not to put any more energy into it but I did so I was ok...plus it helps that I spent 4 years in between two physics classrooms...I love Physics!!!!!
@19stunter ? I'm still confused... everyone keeps commenting that we are selling something and taking money from people. We aren't selling anything on this show... we just showed you how to make it with items you can find at home.
@MrTechGuy1995 we have never claimed to invent these experiments. What our show is about is taking something like this that has been around for ages and showing it in a way that makes science fun! We are sorry that you feel we have ill intentions, but I can assure you that our goal in taking the time to put together this content for you and our other viewers is to make something that is entertaining, educational, and free for you to watch.
What actually causes the swinging cans to slow down? I understand the physical idea behind their synced movement, but why do they slow down without exerting any outside force on them?

I had one of these as a kid, and immediately tangled the strings up beyond all hope of recovery.
I wish we could watch this at school instead of bill nye
I am sooo doing this to my friends! Maybe not with a wrecking ball, but a water bottle works fine.
Thanks for the kind words!
Noted, thanks for the suggestion!
Thank you! You're too kind
the giraffe at the back really disturb me ,,, hahahahaha i need to replay this video,

Thanks!
i don't know how i got to these videos but i have watched 4 of Spangler's videos in a row now. i am hooked, keep up the fantastic experiments!
Not sure, but we are glad you did!
It's exclusively on RUclips!
@OurConsciousSkies you have to watch the video on a computer. Currently annotations do not work on mobile devices or internet enabled TVs.
thanks soo much alltime tens, and steve, your my hero :)
I watched this because we learned about this in science class a little while ago, and because I seriously want one of the things with the silver balls, I think they're so cool!
I CANT STOP WATCHING THESE THEY ARE SO ADICTING :D
saying its the best is an understatement... this should be a TV show id watch it...
Good old Isaac creating more and more ways for me to scare my piers with gravity. Good humor, I love it.
This was awesome Steve!
I should sleep now (From Holland) But you keep me awake!
Aweomse! Love it!
AWESOME SHOW! WATCHING EVERY DAY!
Amazing
@LiL3BiT that giraffe kept sneaking into the shot!
thanks i found a new idea for the the science fair i really like ur ideas whenever there is a science fair i just recheck the videos and find something

You'll never know how may awesome ideas you've given me for Children's Church! God bless you!!!
This is really cool. I was kind of surprised the tabs didn't fall off though...
It reminds me of an old book published in England, with a lot of cool science tricks.
Steve you're awesome. - Singapore
YOU ARE SO AWESOME I WISH YOU TAUGHT ME SCIENCE AT SCHOOL!
haha i flinched at the very end no matter how many times i watch it in full screen (HD) 13:33
You did this one on Ellen :-) That is how I found this channel and I love it!
I love this so much.
@hallfamilysince1990 our episode next week will have exclusive behind the scenes footage from Steve at The Ellen Show! Don't miss it!
I really want that book you talk about "Scientific Amusements", any ideas where I can buy it??
why are you guys so awesome!!!!!
my physics teacher did the bowling ball Pendulum. It was interesting. Watching this reminds me of the somewhat old times.
The force is strong in this one
This is great!
MAN THATS AWSOME!
amazing!!!!!! im such a fan!
you are the reason i got a newton's cradle for christmas
I would SO want to work with them. It reminds me of Bill Nye The Science Guy
@estoyspnoy Good that you brought that to my attention. I can't wait to capitalize on the gullible! Thanks for the idea guys.
haha funny how people reacted to the bowling ball! :D
I did get to do it:) Just not on camera this time.

Mr. Spangler you have given me the will to go and become my dream career, Chemist!
@peacefulwariorz ? We aren't selling anything in this show... we just showed you how to make it with items you can find around at home.

amazing!!
well hello Mr. Spangler!
12:48.
His life flashed before his eyes.
I like how we tested the bowling ball on the mannequin, then the people, *then* the camera.

It would be so fun working with you guys!
kept thinking the can was gonna hit him in the face haha
can't wait to watch
"For 19.95 I have a full system and a seminar you could attend." LOL G
otta love Steve!
my 6th grade science teacher has one of these its fun to mess with them
My same question exactly
that's why he said he was gonna add some energy before he threw it.
the best channel ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
my brains going to blow up after trying this
@JustMe88E we actually have several channels. Head to our channel page and click the links across the top for more fun science experiments!
but we were really hoping you would come work for us:)
You have such a fantastic house!
Only time I didn't skip an ad, it was the Hunger games trailer.
watched the video and came back to like!!:)
when the bowling ball hits that i laugh alittle
This is so cool
u know on the intro to ur videos i seen where u poured something to a bottel and it it started glowing do u have a video on that
dude you're awesome, you're like the bill nye of today
Somewhere across America, someone will get a concussion after trying the bowling ball out...
i am related to isaac newton. we have silverwear with the newton crest and we have pictures in old photo books of him and his family
dude you're awesome.
when you tell us not to do it at home that is when we just go to a friends house
(:
i used to swing the ferris wheel baskets up to my face and let go it would scare people so funny lol
the best channel ever
7:38 most enthusiastic "what?!" ever...
awesome!!!! :D
I'm only here so my teacher doesn't give me detention...
That employee (with the curly hair) is so cute! :D
I like that BOSS people like him should be in power
I have a newtons cradle! it always gets messed up though!
Dang it. I watched all of his videos already???
I like how he calls the red can "coke" but the other can is actually the one that says COKE on it with huge letters. xD
I absolutely love this show. I'm actually a magician so this was a really fun and neat idea that I may just have to play around with :D
I love this! Could u use something way bigger? Maybe a crane orr a 100 pound weight? Or would that swing much more aggresivly and hit u?
12:12 doesn't that person look like Hank Green?
tried the can thing.. freaked my brothers friend out. haha :P
@TheSpanglerEffect would you please write the materials in the description it would make it easier for us to try :)
Why aren't the videos linked, there aren't any annotated links in the video to take me to the next video or subscribe or anything.
What actually causes the swinging cans to slow down? I understand the physical idea behind their synced movement, but why do they slow down without exerting any outside force on them?
idk bout you all but I LOVE THIS SHOW! wish i could be on it ....but i cant sooooooooo im screwed xDD!!
U did the bowling ball thing on Ellen!
hey steve your awsome
Can you explain the science behind why it stops when you focus on one of the cans?
